As soon as we pulled up, two guys came out of the building and started hauling in our cardboard. They were so helpful and efficient, we were only there for a minute or two. It was painless! The other time I've gone there was to get a recycling tub since one didn't come with the property. Again, very helpful with information about what they will accept in the recycling tubs and I was in and out of there in only a couple of minutes. Recyling has never been so easy.

The literal rudeness I experienced there was absolutely off the charts. I know it's not a 4 star…read morerestaurant. It's a can shed. You drop off cans. I walk and there is a sign saying to "wait for assistance". A guy about 30-40 feet yells something in my direction. I can't hear it. He yells it again. I still can't. I say that "I have some hearing loss". He walks up about 10 feet in front of me...cups his hands around his mouth and yells it very loudly. I just dropped the bag and walked out. That level of rudeness in a casual situation is unacceptable. Especially since I told him I had hearing issues. But at a place of business....absolutely unreal. That guy has no business being in any situation where he's working with the public. I almost wish I had a camera on, because it was actually unbelievable to the point where I wouldn't believe it if I read this review myself UPDATE: One of the managers contacted me to apologize. They watched the security footage and confirmed that it happened the way I described. It turns out the employee is female and not male. Gender never came up during our conflict. They acknowledged that as well. I never intentionally mis-gender people...but sometimes it still happens to all of us. I'm changing from 1 star to 2, considering the manager took the time to contact me to sort it out.

The Interstate trucking company that I drive for hauls scrap between scrap yards and to foundries…read morefrom scrap yards. This is the most friendly and helpful yard I have ever dealt with. BTW, most scrap yards are very friendly and helpful, but this yard is at the top of my list! As an interesting aside, I could not help but notice that they had what I assumed was a brand new CAT crane loading me. I also noticed that the Operator was very deft and precise in his "Maestro" level of control while orchestrating the controls of his machine. I learned later that the "New" crane was in fact FIVE YEARS OLD". By all appearance, I would have sworn that is was less then one week old. I have seen a LOT of cranes in many yards. I have seen cranes that were less than a month old that did not look like they were even close to being brand new. I also learned that the Operator was so good that Marion Iron bought the crane especially for him and that he was the only person authorized to operate it. This company has SOUL!

There were people there both times I went, but it wasn't crowded and I didn't have trouble getting access. It was a decent place, seemed clean both times I was there. The cleaning staff was there one time, and they seem to give the place and machines a good cleaning. One vending machine ate a couple bucks of mine and didn't give me detergent, so you lose the fifth star, but otherwise top notch experience.

I lived out of state for a few years and had my belongings put in 2 storage units in Cedar Rapids…read more When I moved back to Iowa last year, I moved 5 hours away from Cedar Rapids. The storage fees were killing me, and I so wanted my photographs and albums. I knew some of the stuff I wouldn't want, but some I would want brought up to where I currently live at some point. I decided to start my consolidating the units and eliminating the larger unit. I called Eastern Iowa Jun Removal on a Monday and they were available that Friday that I was driving in. They did a fantastic job! We were able to clear out the larger unit, they made 3 trips to the dump for me, and we found my precious photographs and albums. They worked hard for 9 hours, and I was so impressed. In a couple of months we're going to go through the rest of the smaller unit, and weed out what to keep and what not to keep and they will haul it to my new place. I am so impressed with this young man! I highly recommend Eastern Iowa Junk Removal for all your moving or junk removal needs!
