I didn't have a great experience with Link2Life. I was sick, vomiting and faint the day of the CPR class that I was scheduled to have in the evening and I notified them that morning. Their office manager, Debra, told me, "While I can't provide you with your full course credit, I can offer you a 50% discount off a future CPR-HCP recertification class as a gesture of goodwill." In essence, they told me that I couldn't use the amount I already paid as credit for another class and that I would have to pay for another class.
When I talked to Debra on the phone, she told me they have a "no refund policy". I wasn't asking for a refund; I was asking for another class. Debra reported "it's our policy". Debra vaguely explained that "a lot of planning goes into the classes".
When I asked them if the amount I originally paid could be transferred to another class, Debra purported that the credit is "already gone", despite the fact that they could've transferred the credit to the class if they received a call 24 hours in advance, so the value isn't "gone"--they just choose not to transfer it as credit for another class. Again, Debra repeatedly and adamantly persisted with "it's our policy" and "we stick with our policy".
I get that, as a company, they don't want to lose out on money if people cancel, but their strict policy illustrates that they have no understanding of others, they have no flexibility (Debra even said "no, we don't" when I asked her if they have any flexibility) and their bottom line is all that matters.
So with this company, if you're sick and have a class with them, you have two options: lose out on your money or go in sick, which encourages people to go into the class even when they aren't feeling well and are contagious.
It's very disheartening as a health care professional to know that a company that is involved in the health care field has no empathy for those who are sick. read more
