The workers were very nice, and the restaurant was very beautiful. The food had a very good visual look but was not very appetizing at all. I was expecting to have good food like China bear or China east but I was not impressed with ANY of the flavors that I experienced. I was so curious after reading all the other reviews so I came by on Sunday afternoon. Maybe it's a hit or miss thing but I HIT IT BIG! Everything was fresh & tasty. H&S soup was tasty as was everything else. There were fresh oysters, roast beef, chicken cooked every way & I'm sure, lots of pork & MSG mixed in but I came for a Chinese buffet not a whining session. Maybe food gets old on a slow day but not today! Yes, I had 3 plates full & skipped dessert, which also looked good but I'm a meat lover. Oh, the sushi wasn't labeled but it looked very good. I have tried a lot of Chinese buffets. Sure, the food is not as good as a made-to-order place, but I do love the variety that buffets offer. Ling's is a very nice, large and super-clean restaurant. Their service is really good. They have wait-staff standing all around the restaurant to ensure that if anyone needs anything, they can come in a jiffy. Some have said that the variety here is not good; however, I disagree with that. I found multiple items that I had never seen before on buffets such as bacon wrapped shrimp, spinach cheese puffs, crab patties, raw oysters, and lychees (exotic fruit). Ling's Buffet mmm.... pretty good the bathrooms are really fancy and clean.they have a wide variety of food from pizza to oysters. The waiters are very kind and respectful to you so you can expect a warm welcome. I only complaints are the pizza tastes kind of weird and the place where you get desserts sometimes a little bit messy. Sometimes a little bit of food it into different tray of food and you know that Not good. Every time I they all was seem to be out of oysters. Other than that it is really really good restaurant. Been here a bunch of times, and my whole family loves it. There's something for everyone, and the sushi is amazing. Salad bar could have more selection, but lots of fruit choices. How can you mess up wonton soup? We had the buffet (and I am not a fan of buffets in general), but the selection was so vast, I had to try it. The food was not very flavorful at all. I got Coupon from Money Mailer, so I know ling's buffet has 15% off. When I want eat buffet I called money mailer customer service ask them can I print coupon? They told me YES! Money Mailer's coupon doesn't need print. But when I check out at Ling's Buffet the cashier doesn't let me use printer coupon, And told me the manager not there. If I want talk to manger come tomorrow, but I need pay first. I don't know why they do this, maybe think I am Asian people. They do not care about this customer. BUGS!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! I WOULD RATE THIS ZERO STARS IF I COULD! Last week my husband and I went to Ling's for dinner as we usually do several times a month for the sushi. We sat in a booth and were almost finished with our dinner when my husband noticed a small insect crawling on the table. Then another, and another, and another. I called the waiter over and showed him and then upon moving the condiments a whole pile was there running around on the table!!! The waiter asks if we want to be moved to another booth (?????what?????) We said we are done here, he pointed out the manager at the register and I tell him about it and he says...so sorry... huh???? system will not permit zero stars. went there first week it was open, then again a few months later during "grand opening". Then finally dragged back first week of december 2012 because of visitors. Nothing had changed. Still one of the worst "Chinese" buffets have ever been in. Most of the food was bland. First two times went with several elderly Oriental ladies of different nationalities, None could communicate with the staff or management. They made the comment that they could get better "Chinese" food at the Golden Corral. This place advertizes that it is in the "Top Hundred" Chinese Restaurants in Houston. Not sure who gave that rating, or how bad some of the other places must be. Not sure why it is always packed. Maybe because it is only buffet in the area, and is pretty cheap. read more
