The playground is huge and looks like so much fun for children. There's also a gated waterpark right next to the play ground called H20 Spray park. Not sure when it opens to the public but I believe you do have to pay to enter. As you walk further down, you'll see a concession stand and another building with outside seating along with a hanging sign that says Westand Lions Club. And There's a pond area with a fountain in the middle. Lastly, there's a soccer field with a 2 lane track going around it - 1 lap is 0.5mi. After exploring the area, I went around the track a few times. I had a Very nice time.

Anyway, I hate to say to many nice things, then everyone else goes then it gets crowded splash zone, play grounds, skate board concrete area which is amazing, wish I had that growing up. Food/snack stand, picnic areas, just a beautiful park.

It's a little hard to find where to park, but you want the street perpendicular to what Google Maps tells you. I wish I had brought my board! It's the only park in Detroit and I found out my AirBnB was right next to it before I left to go back home. I probably wouldn't skate here alone in the evening hours, but it's definitely worth checking out with some friends.

As an area resident, it's great see such a positive addition to this neck of the woods....yes, we often get neglected around here as Corktown, Midtown, and the other kitschy Detroit neighborhoods get all the buzz & attention. But, that's another story. Gaining popularity with Detroit's growing skateboarding scene, Ride It has attracted professional Skateboarders & BMXers, as well as the neighborhood kids. I've seen the youngn's crossing the freeway with their bike & board in hand, eagerly awaiting to visit the skatepark. As recreational facilities close left & right with the city's ongoing financial woes, Ride It has become an oasis for these kids. If you're not from this area & would like to visit this Skatepark know the following: (1.) It's located off of Davison East (at Klinger St) - Yes, it's in the hood! (2.) There's a parking lot directly behind the park. (3.) Open from dawn til dusk.

They had tennis courts for pickle ball and a good open field for volleyball, corn hole and fowling. There were about 6 rows of about 4 side by side picnic tables under the shelter. There is also a paved walking/jogging trail. The covered pavilions have picnic tables under it, but I do not think there are any grills. You will have to bring your own. The park appears kind of old and is relatively maintained. It could use some lawn care. The two play grounds are on opposite ends of the park from each other, along with the pavilions. One play ground has older equipment. The other new playground (by the high school) is bigger and has more modern equipment. It has a huge jungle gym with slides, bridges, and poles. There is also a set of modern swings, a set of regular swings, and a dome climber over there as well. The older playground has a very small metal slide (ouchhhh, on those hot summer days), and two sets of worn swings that have seen better days. As an added bonus, the park has a couple of restroom facility and paved paths that could be used for walking. They are not very long so you would probably get bored running up and down them. The baseball/softball fields are world class and have lights. I think they are used for Allen Park rec league ball mostly, but can be rented. The same goes for the inline-skate rink. The park is located in the backyard of Allen Park High School and I found it hard to differentiate what facilities belonged to the park and which belonged to the school. This is a nice park and definitely worth a visit or planning a special event at. Whether it be a baseball tournament, tennis match, picnic, party, or walking your dog. It has tons of stuff to do.

Not only is it awesome to see all those folks out on sunny summer afternoons (and many warmer winter days too!) doing tricks, learning the ropes on their skateboards, and just socializing and creating community, but they also hold really cool events every so often, including their big fest in September featuring food, live music, etc. Sadly last year's party was the same day as my wedding so I couldn't partake but I hope to check it out this year! Their website has great guidelines/"skatepark etiquette" for guests and parents alike. They really are committed to keeping the park a safe, clean space for all to enjoy. I love walking our pup through and watching all the skaters do their thing on a warm summer day. The best!

What's not: Walls or steep banks to wallride or wallie, over-vert or big vert extensions, more boxes, long rails, etc. but there's Farmington Hills (or even Westland) nearby for that. The park is open daily until 10pm. There are many amenities including a civic ice arena, playscapes, picnic tables, covered pavilions and baseball diamonds complete with bleachers and lights for night games. My favorite feature is the 1.2 mile asphalt walking path that circles through the park and accommodates bikers/skaters in one direction and walkers/runners in the other. The only drawback is the squirrels who people have fed over the years to the point now where they walk right up to you asking for food. There are always people in the park but it's never too crowded. It is well kept and even has bags conveniently located for dog owners to use to clean up after their pets. If you live in the Garden City, Wayne, Westland, Inkster or Dearborn Heights area and enjoy outdoor recreation then this park should be on your list.
