Ordered tonight through Grubhub, Kung Pao Chicken w/ Lo Mein side. What I received was definitely not Kung Pao Chicken. It was fried chicken pieces doused with a tasteless salty sauce. Kung Pao is not fried, and this was not made to order in any way. At least the hotel made a decent cocktail (see pic). After a long day of travel this was beyond disappointing. Do better. read more

Carry out is never a disappointment from Lincoln Gardens. Their Singapore noodles are spicy and they always give a good amount.

Sticking to the standards for American-Chines takeout a fairly safe bet. Mongolian chicken, General Tso, etc,, are passable and plenty of food for the $. BIG downfall, the styrofoam that the dishes are served in. This is a horrible idea, as the styrofoam melts and becomes part of the dish you are eating. They used to serve in plastic, which isn't as good as the foil takeout pans, bit at least they don't melt like the foam. The spring-roll is pitifully small, would much prefer if soup was included with lunch specials instead. Most recent order included LoMein noodles, and there was a definite change, noodles we basically spaghetti noodles with some weird seasoning, NOT proper LoMein noodles at all, and shouldn't be advertised as such. We would regularly order takeout in the past, but the foam takeout containers are enough for me to write this place off. read more

Disappointed. I haven't been to Lincoln Garden in a few years. You used to be able to see your food being prepared and they used to have good food for a fair price. Shocked how tiny the spring rolls are now. Sad that the food isnt as good as it used to be. Also, my carryout order had no napkins or flatware. I found that out after I left. Lincoln Garden is your average Chinese restaurant. Menu as expected, food standard Chinese greasy. I ate the veggie fried rice and it was decent, worth eating, but not exciting. My husband got his standard Mu Gu Gai Pan and it was also standard. My daughter ate the shrimp lo mein quite well. The i door apace is small, they primarily serve pick up and delivery. We have always had good experiences here. Food is always fresh and piping hot. We have never had a problem with our order being wrong and it is always ready when we get there to pick it up. They're so disorganized and confused. I ordered 2 cashew chickens on line and then ordered crab Rangoon when I got there. The online order said 20 mins but it wasn't ready when I got there but got the crab Rangoon right away. My mom has an allergy to shrimp and got violently ill because there were whole shrimp in the cashew chicken. This place is awful. read more

My wife and I have dined @ Lincoln Garden as well as using their delivery service and we've been delighted each time. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the portions are plentiful - especially their Combination platters. They have regular lunch specials (currently a $5 lunch special including drink) and frequently send out coupons in the local paper. We've never had any issues with order accuracy, and the staff is always friendly. It's an odd thing to compliment a restaurant on, but we also really like the take-out containers - they're not your typical cardboard containers - they are plastic, re-usable and are great for reheating your leftovers! I wholeheartedly recommend Lincoln Garden if you're looking for great, affordable Chinese food. read more

Tried this place today. Pretty much the same as you would get at the Mall. NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! was sweating like a cow before we were finished. Spring Roll was good but Egg Rolls were so so. Soup was not bad Egg Drop but a little to thick. for my money would hit Golden Buddha or Shing Lee. read more

"Dr. Better-Half" & I took a while to find the best "Americanized Chinese Take-Out" when we moved to Evansville, but Lincoln Garden took the prize at the end. Extremely well-made Standards as well as some dishes closer to "real" Chinese dishes... and a few that might be considered "fusion" for Chinese Take-Out, such as my current favorite "Hawaiian Fried Rice" with Pineapple, Chicken & Shrimp (and I believe uses Pineapple Juice in making the rice for a subtle flavor change). They make a mean Lo Mein, always one of my staples with plenty of veggies (again, not over-cooked and a good crunch to them), meat, and thick noodles not overdone and a good bite to them (how does one say "al dente" in Mandarin?), my other standards of Sesame & General Tso's Chicken are well-flavored with a sauce that's just right and not "gloopy". I've also taking a liking to their pan-fried Pork Dumplings as an Appetizer/Small Dish that's got a great balance of "crunchy" and "softer" in the Dumpling and a spicy filling if I'm more-than-usual hungry (I'm a bit of a "Wee Lad" with a smallish stomach, so more than 1 Lg Order and splitting one with "Dr. Better-Half" assures us of Lunch the day after) As for her Vegetarian Self, they offer a large amount of their dishes with Tofu, so she has a good amount of Protein (as opposed to an "Amaturetein") and not just Carbs & Veggies to sustain her. We split 75/25 between Pick-Up & Delivery since it's a 10 minute drive... if you hit all Red Lights, and the Delivery has been consistently early almost every time with no mistakes to our order. The ONLY reason I'm rated them a 4/5 (and honestly, would be 4.5/5 if I could) and not 5 is the lack of the classic "Chinese BBQ Spare Ribs" and "Boneless Ribs". As a native New Yorker where that was on EVERY menu I ever saw, for myself it's an unforgivable lapse. The price is a just a touch high but they stuff their containers "Overflowingly Full", so it evens out and you can never have too much Leftover Chinese for Breakfast! Great food close by, top-notch delivery and great phone and in-store Customer Service... if your on the East or Southside, try them soon! read more

The smell in the restaurant could knock you over! But I was already disappointed b/c when I ordered my hubs decided he would rather have a different dish. Called restaurant back within 2 minutes, was put on hold for 2 minutes and when asked if they had stated the order was told, "getting ready to, too late". I was happy to get a mailer this week for a Chinese restaurant that would deliver to us. The delivery time was very reasonable. Their food was good, pretty large portions. The price was a little more than I'm used to for basically carry out, but there's a $20 minimum and $2 delivery fee and we had a lot of food leftover. I still have a few favorites over this but definitely rate it higher than a few others. The fact that they deliver will probably make us regular customers. We had the General Tso Chicken with fried rice. It was pretty good. The crab rangoon were different than what I'm used to but not bad, the filling was good. The egg rolls that came with the combination dinners were very small, I'm not sure if that's what you would get if you order one as an appetizer. read more

This place has the absolute worst customer service. I called in an order for pickup and it was not ready when I got there at the specified time. I waited for a long time for the order while people who just showed up and ordered were getting theirs. Finally, I went up and asked about mine and they said it had been sitting under the counter, but they forgot to give it to me. I get to the car and look over my food and notice my order is wrong. I go back inside to tell them and they just say " the cook must have made the wrong thing". No apology. No replaced food. When I get home, I call the manager. She calls me a liar, but does finally refund part of my money. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I placed an order at 6:15pm and 3 hours later I've not received my food. I've called the restaurant several times where a lady assures me my delivery is "on its way" I've ordered from here several times before where the food was just "ok". This place is in the top 3 for the evansville area. The place might not look like much but the food is really good. We always get our food to go so I can't tell you about the in store service. The fried rice house special is excellent, the hot and sour soup can be a little peppery but still very paletable. spring rolls and chicken sticks very very good. I used to go to this place a couple of times a week for lunch take-out as it is close to where I work and it is quick. The food was always good, the price was right and the service was quick, friendly, and polite. The place itself, however, is kind of a dump (sorry guys!) and it just kept getting worse. It is definitely not a dine-in facility. It is dirty and cluttered, like the dining area doubles as a storage area, and the AC is perpetually (or permanently) broken. This usually didn't bother me,however, since I almost always got take-out. One of my major complaints was the condition of the bathrooms. The men's room, when not completely out of order was almost always out of either soap, paper towels, or toilet paper. FOR DAYS AND DAYS AND DAYS. The sinks never have hot water, which I think may be a health hazard, and it smells unpleasant. One day after having gone there for a week with the men's being out of order and having to use the ladies' room in the interim, I notice one of the cooks come out of the ladies room, go behind the counter and start bagging up food without using the sink in the kitchen (the entire kitchen is visibly open to the counter) to wash his hands. I then go to the ladies' room to discover, of course, no hot water and no soap. Get real, guys, that crap doesn't fly in the restaurant biz in this country, and if it does you'd better have soap and hot water to clean it up! This coming right on the heels of me seeing the Orkin man spraying the kitchen for pests during the lunch rush the day before and I haven't been back there since. It's sad because I really like the people who work there and the food was good, but if they don't clean up their act I'm afraid the next time I see them it may be in the news for multiple health code violations. Most of the problems are so simple to solve, it just makes me think it may be from either laziness or an ignorance of the level of cleanliness that is expected to keep a restaurant appealing here. read more
