What a hidden gem! Traveling to Owensboro from Nebraska and I was craving, of all things, CHINESE! This place did not disappoint! The buffet was fabulous (trust me: Get the potatoes!!!) Love this chinese place. Grown up here for the last 15 years and have always been treated with respect and kindness when we choose to eat here. Owners know my name and my family, very sweet and outgoing people. Been ordering the fried dumplings, egg drop soup, and bbq chicken for years now and I have never once been disappointed! Love this place! We live near by and normally order items from the menu instead of doing the buffet, so what we get is always fresh and tasty! Some of the favorites are: vegetable lo mein, Kung Pao Shrimp and Hunan Shrimp. Service is friendly and prompt. Great local option for quick Chinese food. read more

When I read 'traditional' I was sold. However, no pork strips? no spareribs? no real lobster sauce with shrimp; brown color not white, No Chop Suey??? No Chow Mein?? This is and always has been my favorite place to get my Chinese buffet on in Newburgh. The service has always been great. I never had to ask for a refill. Although the food isn't the best I've had, it still is very tasty and gets the job done. If the buffet is not for you then they do have a full menu. I think the only competition for them in Newburgh is Triple Dragon, which has great variety but the food doesn't match up with China Village. There was another place that was just "okay" that opened up where that Little Caesars used to be by the cinemas but it closed a few weeks after it opened. (I think that lot is destined for failure). read more

If I go to a buffet, this is it. The food is good (for a buffet) with a generally good selection. Don't look for anything unusual on it, General's Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, maybe a garlic dish, sweet and sour, cashew chicken, fried chicken, rolls, crab Rangoon and so forth... all the Chinese buffet basics. The hot and sour soup is decent once you add some pepper. Fried Rice is OK, steamed rice is usually a bit dry and the lo mien is pretty good. I have never seen them offer crab legs or a seafood feast, but we haven't been there on a Friday night for years. The service is very good, friendly, attentive and efficient. They keep the drinks filled without having to ask. It's a pretty clean, well lit place. I think they offer alcohol, but I never drink at a Chinese Buffet. Maybe that would help me like them more. My kids love the place. It's been there for at least 10 years with a couple different managers/owners and the quality has stayed consistent. I do question their takeout. When I get take out, I feel like it's not fresh but from the buffet. Can't say for sure, just what I think. read more

This used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant. We have came here so many times over the years! But we went this morning at opening and got our plates and sat down. Some of the foods from the buffet were cold and shouldn't have been if they were fresh which concerned me, especially being pork. Then my 6 year old who always is a big eater made a weird face and said the broccoli tasted funny. I tried mine and it tasted like chemicals or something. Or maybe soap? Idk but it was BAD! The noodles had this burnt smell and taste. Everything made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. I was expecting amazing, fresh food at the beginning of the day. I'm hoping we don't get food poisoning tonight since I have small kiddos who ate with me and tried the broccoli. Another thing that was weird to me was the minute I stepped away the man asked my 8 year old their ages instead of asking in front of me. He waited until the minute I walked off. My daughter said he called my toddler a 4 year old so I got charged for her which I happened to notice when paying the lady at the counter who never smiles. But that's no big deal, just a little creepy the way he asked. I'm just hoping we don't all vomit later. Also they're very pushy about trying to get you to finish your plates. My husband and I were here about a month ago for a quick lunch on a Saturday. On the plus side, everything was hot and fresh and the service was friendly. However, the selection was small, and everything just tasted sweet. Not very traditional. It is inexpensive though, and they're nice people. We went on a Sunday evening and had the buffet. The buffet and restaurant were clean and the service was prompt. Adult buffet was $8.50, child's was $6.50. Lots of entree choices, two soups, crab rangoon, egg rolls and an odd assortment of misc. including lettuce, tapioca dessert, watermelon, orange slices, pudding, shrimp cocktail and more! For the cost, it was ok. I was a little disappointed in the vegetarian options; even the egg rolls and 1 of the soups had meat. My family has been ordering take-out from this restaurant for years, however our experience tonight means that we will not be going back. We placed our order over the phone and the woman read it back to us correctly. When we picked it up and got it home we found that half of our order was incorrect. My brother took it back and asked to exchange it for the items we ordered only for the employee he spoke with to rudely refuse and say that because the woman had written the wrong items on our order they would not correct their mistake. We have had small issues with the restaurant making errors before, but after how we were treated tonight we will not be ordering from them again. read more

Most people say the buffet is too small but i am a quality over quantity guy and we usually do carryout that is ready 10-15 mins. Only restaurant that comes close is Yen Ching. It is as others mentioned a small selection; but it is one of the only buffet that I found with my favorite beef broccoli. Other places it's chicken & broccoli. The food is excellent and if you like Crab Rangoon you will be spoiled to only eat it here. It is done to perfection! They are flaky/crisp not burnt or tips to chewy. They pull apart nicely and melt in your mouth. If you want quality eat here or pay the higher prices at the only other 2 with matched quality. If you want qanity, then go to the larger buffets in town where the selection is larger but greatly lacking in quality. read more

I picked up a carry-out order, only to get home and find out 1/3 of my order was missing. I called, went back and picked up missing food. Of course, by the time I got home-the other food was cold. Chicken Egg Foo Yung was mostly egg and instead of gravy there was a sauce that tasted like a tangy soy sauce. Absolutely awful! General Tsao's chicken was not fresh and tasted like they took it off of buffet. I would have given this place 2 Stars had I received a complete order, and that's not saying much. read more
