I really like this place. I've been coming here for over 20+ yrs. They have fair prices & I personally love their food. My absolute favorite is the egg drop soup! AND the crispy noodles that come with them. I always ask for extra (& they don't even charge more) I could make a meal out of just eating those things. Lol, they are addicting. Also have really good egg rolls!!! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is bcuz the inside is truly in need of some serious updating. I believe it's looked same ever since I started coming,, 20+ years ago. I highly recommend trying this little restaurant out. read more

Overview: middle of the line to low end Chinese food. Large portions good prices. Taste is not great but not terrible. We got take out from here tonight, and it definitely left something to be desired. Although the portion sizes were great and the price was good as well, the food was not good. I got wonton soup to start. The broth was almost flavorless and the meat inside the wontons had a funny taste to it. Next I got plain lo mein, which was the highlight of the meal. Although nothing special, it had the classic lo mein taste and cooked well. After that I had general tso chicken which again was nothing special, a little soggy with too much sauce. I don't agree with some of the other Star ratings if you read their reviews. I've been ordering here and for quite some time. The staff are friendly, the portions are perfect and the food is tasty. Service is quick too and you can't beat free, yes I said FREE delivery. My recommendations are that you try the General Tso's Shrimp along with Combination Fried Rice. Mmmm mmm! read more

I recently got food from here and although the customer service was great, the food left much to be desired. I got egg drop soup and the version they had was such a departure from what I ordinarily have at other restaurants it was inedible. The general tso chicken was tso-tso, but the rice was as expected as well as the lo mein. I don't know that I'd order the soup here ever again but if you want a pretty average meal, you could consider coming here for the lo mein and rice if you want some cheap Chinese food. read more

Our first trip to Golden Buddha was for their Sunday buffet. It is small, but plentiful. The service is great. I've also ordered take out, twice- both good experiences. The only thing I don't like it there sweet and sour shrimp.. to much batter. The sweet and sour chicken they serve on the buffet is good though. read more

My husband would probably give them 5 stars, but I just don't like it as much. We've eaten in the restaurant once, and gotten carry out 3 or 4 times. Definitely get carry out if you eat here. The inside is really dated and it's just not a pleasant atmosphere. The fried rice is always dry and hard. Potstickers are usually pretty good though. I usually get lemon chicken, the last timr I got it, the chicken's texture was very old - both stringy and mushy. My husband says the hot and sour soup is good. The food isn't bad- could be 10x better, but it's not bad...but the dining room and everything about the building is gross and falling apart. There are loads better places to get Chinese food from in the Greater Evansville/Newburgh area. read more

The people that gave them a high rating must work there because I had a completely different experience. The inside is dated and in serious need of a remodel. The food was steaming hot, but tasted mushy and old. I used to work at a restaurant and I can tell the difference between food that was cooked fresh and food that has been sitting around all day and is microwaved before it's given to customers. Don't waste your money here. You would get better quality if you microwaved something you bought at the grocery store. read more

I'm pretty picky on Chinese food as I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for much of my life and there are many excellent Chinese restaurants there to choose from. The Midwest is really not known for this type of food as a rule, but I think Golden Buddha does pretty well, I prefer Yen Ching by a slight margin but they are further away from where I live. I have traditionally had a hard tIme getting Midwestern Chinese restaurants to make my food spicy enough, just like the Mexican fare you get around here. GB did a pretty good job and also gave me some hot oil in case my food wasn't hot enough. I don't recommend places as a rule, but I think they're pretty good. One thing, most anywhere else in a halfway sizable city in the US there is Chinese food delivery. What is up with not having that around here? read more

I don't understand how anyone can give this place a good rating. I live down the street and every weekend that place is deserted. If their so good, why isn't it packed every weekend? I went there once, when I first moved here. Their food was very hot, but was mushy and tasted old. I used to work at a restaurant and I know the difference between food that was made fresh and something that sat around all day and then was microwaved when it was ordered. My advice, stay away. They have been around forever and used to very good. Last several times the quality has been average. Prep time is always fast

be careful-the prices on line are NOT the price you will pay when you pick up your food. It will be quite a bit more. I told the guy at register that is not the price it said on line-he said those prices are wrong. That's not right -prices you see on line in advertisement should be what they charge. Me and my wife stopped in here at random and was kind of skeptical at the lack of customers upon our arrival, however we was short on time and parking is limited for a semi and trailer and this place was our best option given there was a out of business gas station next to the restaurant providing adequate parking for our over sized vehicle. As we made our way inside we was welcomed with a musky odor similar to that of a damp unfinished basement consisting of 2 week old laundry. Our host on the other hand was very kind, though he was probably just happy to see customers to relieve him of his boredom. As he led us to our booth we both took notice of the aquarium and silently said a small prayer in hopes that the over grown gold fish wasn't on the menu. After a few moments he brought our drinks and the crab rangoon which was very tasty though a bit overwhelmed with cream cheese. As we finished the order of rangoon, he was already on his way with the spring rolls, even though we ordered EGG rolls. "Who cares?" We thought. We finished the spring rolls which was okay, not great but not bad either. The timing of the food was very accurate, with the finishing of one item, the other was on the way out. My wife and I agreed on the General Tso's Shrimp. When we go to Chinese or Asian restaurants we found it best to just share an entry as per usual, one entry is enough for two. The presentation was great, it looked so awesome that my wife had to stall me out so she could take pictures! I was like come on already! As expected the entry was delicious, my wife declared it was too spicy, I deferred. For the two of us to leave there happy (Not hungry but not miserably full) it coated us about 22 bucks with a good tip. read more
