My experience with Lina Pet Grooming was by far the worst grooming experience I've ever had. I found Lina Pet Grooming online and booked based on the reviews. My appointment was scheduled for 10:00am, but they didn't arrive until 10:35am. I was texting the same number I used to book the appointment, and when I called that morning, a man answered saying he had no idea what I was talking about and had no connection to the pet grooming service. You can imagine how frustrating and concerning that was. After repeatedly calling, I finally received a response claiming their van had broken down and they were on their way. I am a very understanding person and would have completely understood a delay -- had they simply communicated with me beforehand. When they arrived, I was very clear about how I wanted my dog groomed: a slight trim, do not touch the ears, and lightly trim the face. The groomer nodded as if he understood, though he spoke very little English. Two and a half hours later, the dog they returned to me was completely unrecognizable. She was shaved extremely short -- not what I asked for -- and had several visible nicks and cuts across her body. It was heartbreaking. Especially with the freezing weather here in New York, she has been cold and uncomfortable since the appointment. This is completely unacceptable. The lack of communication, professionalism, and care at Lina Pet Grooming was alarming. I'm sharing this to bring awareness to other dog owners. Please reconsider before using this service. I was in town dog-sitting my sister's two dogs for the week. We've shared custody of them for years, and they're usually groomed in Virginia. Since I'm not familiar with groomers in this area, I turned to Yelp and chose Lina Pet Grooming mainly for the convenience of it being a mobile service. One of the dogs is reactive, which I clearly communicated upfront. I was asked whether they needed full haircuts or just baths and cleanup. I explained they needed a light face trim, slightly shorter coats, but that my main concerns were nail trimming, paw cleanup, and a sanitary trim. When the groomer arrived, I was surprised it was a male (not necessarily an issue, just unexpected). I thought I would see the person in the pictures. I tried to explain that one dog cannot be grabbed suddenly due to his reactivity, both for the groomer's safety and the dog's. I also reiterated what I wanted done. Unfortunately, I don't think my requests were fully understood, as the outcome wasn't what I expected. At first, I was asked to stand inside the van and watch, but the space was cramped and I wanted to avoid triggering the reactive dog, so I stepped outside and waited near the van in the cold. In under an hour, both dogs were finished. When they were handed back to me, they smelled strongly of Johnson's baby wash and their coats were blown out and puffy. I didn't have time to inspect them closely until we went inside, where I noticed their bellies and private areas hadn't been touched at all. The positive: their paws were cleaned nicely, and the nail trim was done very well. I reached back out via text (the same number I had been communicating with the entire time). I was told they had done what I requested in the texts. I tried calling the number to explain verbally, but the call was declined. I asked if someone could call me so I could better explain, but no call came. I was told via text that the groomer understands English and that I should tell him directly to explain what I really need. They offered to come back later. I was told 6 PM, but around that time I was informed the groomer was still with another client. They eventually returned around 8 PM. At that point, my concerns were addressed and the dogs' bellies were shaved, but the overall shaping could have been better. In the end, I felt heard, but not truly understood. While I appreciate them coming back to correct some of the issues and acknowledge the good nail work, I'm not satisfied overall. This was my first mobile grooming experience, and unfortunately, it's left me knowing that mobile grooming isn't something I'll choose again. This review is not meant to discourage anyone. This groomer does not even deserve one store. They cut up my poor 9 pound Maltese so bad., they cut her nails so low she bled in the truck for probably two hours because that's how long it took to groom her he said? I took her in. She was cut all over her belly razor burned and she bled in my house for an hour till I stopped it Do Not Call this groomer.!!! the poor thing was traumatized for hours! I felt so bad for her asked for the owner to call me back and she never did! Again, I repeat DO NOT CALL THIS GROOMER!! And I have contacted this owner numerous times and she still has not had the respect enough to call me back to talk about the situation !! they don't care about animals read more

My mother has used this service for a few months. For the first few visits everything was normal; no issues. That changed today, February 19th. The original appointment was set for February 20th, 2026. For some reason, they sent a groomer out today; that should have been a red flag. It seems they got the dates for my mom's and someone else's session mixed up. My mom made the groomer aware of this. Since they were already at her house they agreed to fulfill the appointment today, February 19th. Everything was normal; my mom checks in from her house to make sure the van is on her block. At some point steps away from the window and comes back to find that the van is gone. She attempts to call the number that she was provided; no response. She checks around the block to see if they relocated close by; the van cannot be found. At this point my mom is freaking and panicking. Eventually, I get through to whom I believe is the owner herself - Lina. I explain to her the situation. I let her know that at no point was my mother notified that driver was leaving and coming back. I tell Lina to please contact the groomer and get back to me. Several minutes go by; I don't get a call back, so I decide to call back. I attempt to call back twice; second attempt the Lina picks up again. I ask her if she was able to locate the groomer. She was able to reach him. She informs me that the groomer/secretary attempted to call my mom to pick up the dog at the end of the session. They got no response, and since the groomer was tired they left to get food. Supposedly he was getting food a few minutes away from my mom's house. I tell the owner to please have the groomer drive back over ASAP. She tells me, dont worry and that she will personally drive our dog back home. More or less an hour has passed since the ordeal started. The groomer finally gets back, and we get our dog. At this point the lack of professionalism is on full display. Lina is nowhere to be seen. The groomer walks over acting very nonchalant. The entire time he explains that situation is a big misunderstanding; and he tries to paint himself as victim as well - says he going to get fired and that Lina was pinning this situation on him. He explains to me that he called the secretary to have them call my mom at the end of the session. They tried calling her but couldn't reach her. That checks out with what Lina told me as well; fine. Now, here is where things start making no sense. Supposedly, they told him (the groomer) to take the dog home. For some reason (and these are the groomer's exact response), he took it literally and decided to take the dog back to his home. I do not understand why the groomer thought it was okay to do this; my mom did not authorize that. I do not understand why the groomer made no attempt to ring the house doorbell. I know that he didn't even attempt it, because he told me he didn't. His excuse was that it was a very big house and he didn't want to ring the wrong doorbell. Mind you, my mom's house is a single family, private a residence. Also, this was not the first time my mom has had this grooming service come directly to her house. At this point, either the owner - Lina, or the groomer she has hired is being dishonest about what happened. Why anyone thought it was fine to drive away with the dog is beyond me. A text message could have been sent to avoid this whole situation. The lack of communication honestly is appalling. It's safe to say that my mom will no longer be using this service. And to anyone who made it this far; I implore you. PLEASE, STAY AWAY FROM THIS GROOMING SERVICE! read more
