We use LVH for regular vet care and also doggy daycare. 10/10. We have a 1 year old cattle dog (think unhinged demon seed with unlimited energy) and she comes home TIRED! They are more affordable than our dog sitter we were having stop by to walk our baby. read more

I would have added more, but ever since I had to euthanize my first dog, here, with her "vet", Dr. Rob, I have gone through a succession of different vets over the years, and they wide in a variety of ways. Dr. Rob was with me for my first experience euthanizing my "doghter", and this was in 2014. He was kind, compassionate, and very attentive of all my needs. He let me stay for as long as I needed, and didn't insist on paying before or after, just sent a bill with his condolences. Limestone also sent a lovely African Violet, that just recently died, but it was in full bloom for almost 10 years? Dr. Rob stayed for a couple more years, then left. Ever since, I have not found a vet that has the same level of compassion or professionalism as he did. Over the past few years, though, I have seen changes that I do not like. For one, it seems to have a revolving door when it comes to their veterinarians. Most stay for a few years, then leave. There is no exposition why, no notification, and if you are "invested" in a particular doctor, such as I was with Dr. Rob, this change is overwhelming and heartbreaking. They have also increased their prices, I guess with competing veterinary hospitals in the area, especially the "corporate vet hospitals", that are buying up private practices. But some of the price changes are, at the very least, way too high. A regular annual exam with vaccines used to cost about $100. Now, with fees, exams by nurses or doctors, both of which there is a vast cost difference, vaccines themselves, medication costs, and it's like you're buying a new house! And don't get me started on their "suggestions" about any kind of lab work or surgeries, especially dentals! They almost insist every year to have your pets get a dental, even if they had one the previous year. And then, to me anyway, they find ways to jack up the bill and go over their estimate given prior to the dental. They find petty, little things, like too much tartar on the back teeth, so they may need to extract. Or they extract the bothersome tooth, and all the teeth around it. Heaven help if the "problem" tooth is near the front of the mouth, because then they remove the teeth, and gives your dog a lop-sided appearance, as they have no support from the jaw. Grooming?! What a laugh! The grooming services used to be excellent, but, like I said earlier, the past few years this service has severely declined. They would do breed specific cuts, and your animal would look amazing! One of the original groomers left, which shifted all the work onto one groomer. She handled this by herself for a couple of years, then they got an additional groomer. But now they are so over booked, sometimes having to schedule months in advance, and just do one thing: shave the dog. If you have a dog that doesn't shed, instead of cutting to that breed, they shave your dog bald! Even though there are no nots or mats, and you have kept up with brushing, they shave everything off, even the legs! In the summer, ok, I can understand, but when cold weather starts, and they have no hair, you're left with having to buy sweaters to keep them warm! And if you request certain things, like only trimming areas that need it, your dog gets shaved bald. So, really, there is no "grooming" per se, unless "totally bald" is the "look" you want. And god help you if you pick your animal up after the groomers have left for the day. The front desk makes you go in and retrieve your animal(s), instead of calling for a vet tech for assistance! And, I have never needed the boarding services, so I have no opinion, other than, when I'm driving by, they bring the game on, and let the dogs romp and play with the techs and other dogs. And I've heard the cat boarding is easily the best around. I do not always have enough money for regular visits, let alone emergencies, or other health issues. I can't complain about that, as they are always willing to work with me and set up a payment plan, which most vet hospitals don't. I do appreciate their kindness in that way. I would love for this practice to actually try and keep their doctors around for more than a couple of years, to establish a connection. And I would like to be informed that, if you have a vet you prefer, and they leave the practice, to notify you instead of being surprised. I would also like to see grooming go back to its roots, with caring people, who actually spend time on your animal instead of washing, shaving, and putting them into a cage, possible with other dogs! I have many "demands", I guess, but my pets are my children, and like human children, deserve the best care. Money issues aside, though, there improvements can be made to make this a 5 star hospital again. My hope, is that someone reads this, not as a "whine" or "complaint", but as helpful feedback to improve services to animals and their owners. read more

We brought our newly adopted puppy here for his shots. The vet techs are very nice but we absolutely love Dr. Olsen. She was friendly and informative and answered any questions we had. We never feel rushed at our appointments and the wait is never long. We had an issue with our puppy getting sick..the other vet on staff spoke with us on the phone and could not have been nicer! Now when we go in some of the office staff remember him and make a big fuss. Highly recommend it here. read more

I like that this vet is privately owned. You can see the dedication in the staff, assistants and veterinarians. Like all healthcare: it's never as cheap as I wish, but...that's the name of the game. I heard great things about the vet, but was very disappointed. My dog went in for routine vaccinations. They did some blood work and they said the rapid test came back heartworm positive. Then they did more expensive blood work and they said that also came back positive. They sent me the options for treatment. I agreed to one of the options and the estimate that was sent to me was around $800 (I had already spent several hundred on the initial bloodwork). I spoke to Dr. Olsen on the phone regarding the treatment and agreed to the $800 option. I set up 4 appointments (one for blood work/X-rays and 3 for injections). I got to the first appt and was ready to pay and they said it was $700 for the day. That was not included in the estimate apparently. When I pulled up the estimate, the $800 was for one injection. The other 2 injections would be an additional $1200. The price was not listed anywhere in the "charge" option but small print and not in the right area. And even then it was very unclear. It was never brought up when I spoke to Dr. Olsen. So now we are looking at $2700, not $800 (not including what I had already paid). I was pretty upset and the nurse kept going back and forth to talk to the vet. I was told they could take $120 off the bill, but then they wouldn't be sending the X-rays to a professional radiologist and I would be putting my dog at risk. They made me feel bad if I were to take the $120 off option and saying my dog maybe not make it through the process if I decline that option. $120 is nothing when talking thousands of dollars. Then they kept telling me I wouldn't find "cheaper treatment" anywhere else. I wasn't looking for "cheaper treatment", I was looking for an honest estimate. They said there was nothing they could do. Dr. Olsen never came out to talk to me. I will be doing business elsewhere. I would rather give someone else my $3000 to make sure my pup is taken care of properly. I sent an email to cancel my appts and send my dog's medical records elsewhere and still no one has reached out. We won't be going back read more

Went through 3 weeks of back and forth trips for pain management for my older dog (11yrs) who prior to this had no signs of old age or ailments. After doing my own research and reviewing with a new vet to the practice, Dr Olsen, I was told I was throwing darts at a dart board. I was also told that my dog was old and she had hit her life expectancy. For a new vet she didn't seem to have much compassion to want to help or find out what was wrong just that my dog was old and arthritis was to be expected. Took my dog for a second opinion at another practice who immediately knew something was wrong and sent us to an emergency vet hospital where we found out my girl had metastatic cancer and an unusually high heart rate related to this. We had to put her to sleep the next day. My entire vet bill at the emergency vet which included ultrasound, xrays, blood work, ER services, and medication was significantly less then just xrays and blood work at Limestone. They are WAY overpriced. Over the course of 11 years we had seen multiple different vets at this place for various simple issues who seemed to always end up leaving limestone after a few short years ...I wonder why? I would have left sooner had I known how overpriced they were. I didn't seek a second opinion soon enough when my girl was suffering. . Dr Olsen told us it was just arthritis! read more

Our vet use to work at Windcrest Animal Hospital and moved to this hospital several years ago. We love our vet and decided to follow her to Limestone Veterinary Hospital. We are so pleased with the service from the doctors, the nurses, the receptionists, that we continue to drive over 45 minutes from our home to take our "furkids" there. They are not only knowledgable in their field, they know how to handle people as well. Constant follow up calls when our beagle was in all her surgeries, all our questions answers promtly, if someone didn't know the answer, they found someone that did. They are compassionate people that are in the right line of work. I wouldn't trust my pup or my three cats to anyone else. Yes, they are that good. I wish my primary care doctor was this good! I've been coming to this hospital for several years now. My little Lucy and I always love walking in and being greeted by Steph, she is SO friendly and helpful. I can't say enough about the staff. I love the work that Dr. Marti and Dr. John have done for my furry family. They always return calls promptly, and honestly, they just give me that feeling of trust. After years of feeling taken advantage of and not having things explained to me in a manner that I understand, I was so thankful to find these folks at Limestone Vet! Aside from their veterinary services, we've also have great experience with their doggy day care and boarding. These guys care about my animals, period! I didn't think I'd ever find THE vet! New to the area. I took my dog to get groomed. And possibly thinking about using their veterinarian services. My dog came back to me with wet ears and a very choppy haircut. The customer service was poor, I felt the groomer was understaffed and rushed. I continue to take my dog to places where he is handled with care and love. Sorry was not feeling the love. read more

After going here for years, i have to say that i've finally transferred to another vet. I find them to be overpriced for one. I spent hundreds on a Friday and put my cat down on the following Monday. Before the procedure, they required me to pay upfront. They also asked me to pay upfront for another cat that i had to put down a few years back. Putting any animal down is emotionally taxing. When the assistant came in the room asking for my money upfront the second time, i decided then to move on to another vet for my remaining fur babies. read more

Do not take your pets to this vet. They jerked us around for 2 days on my dog. Conflicting reports from both vets and the nurses. They are all about the $$$ here. We use to be satisfied with them, but that was only with check ups and shots. When it comes to something serious they have no clue. They just want to run test after test, tell you one thing and retract it later. No communication between the entire staff. We took our dog to another vet and they found out what was wrong immediately. This place is an absolute joke. No professionalism whatsoever. They just want to take advantage of you. Stay away. McGregor is the worst vet in the state. Save your money and time go somewhere else. I would rate no stars but yelp won't allow that. read more

I'm pleased so far with my interactions and service from this practice. My former vet retired and Dr. McIntire was recommended to me. She is perfect for me -- knowledgeable, realistic and empathetic. She seems to really care about her clients (pets and people). The staff members I have met have been pleasant and service oriented. There have been a few glitches and they took care of them right away. I ended up agreeing to a fairly extensive procedure for one of my pets. Dr. McIntire kept me up to date, as did the staff during and after the procedure. My pet came home hours later after her surgery perky and happy. Another vet gave me a first opinion on my pet's needs, but treated me and my pet like we were just another case in a folder. Dr. McIntire gave the same opinion, but it was delivered completely differently. For my pets I need to trust an entire practice. In my experience this far, I trust her and her staff. As a side note, we are also working an issue with another one of my pets. I called with a question and a different vet called me back (not Dr. M). I found him too blunt and clinical. I called him out on it and he adjusted his tone. He would not be my first choice, but I was pleased that he took my feedback, which resulted in a reasonable conversation. read more

The grooming spa is excellent here. I wouldn't trust anyone else to pamper my animals. I've checked out other places where it is very rushed and sloppy. Becca is the number one girl there! She is so sweet when greeting my animals. Any request I have, she never has an issue with and always exceeds my expectations. I have a long haired cat and a Aussie pup... not easy cuts to do. The come out so blended and look like a million bucks! They are around the same pricing as anywhere else around the area. Definitely take your animals there and ask for Becca! I've been going to limestone vet for a little more than six months. The people who work there are always so nice and we are always greeted with a smile. They take the best care of Thaddeus when we board him. It's nice because the dogs are not put in cages, they have runs instead. We have an almost 7 month old Bernese mountain dog and he absolutely loves coming here. The people who work here are always so helpful and answer my bajillion (ridiculous) questions. The doggy day care which is connected is also amazing and have the best staff!!! read more

We moved here last year and took our inside 12 year old and in good health cat to this Vet. Each time we were there, they constantly tried to sell us services for unnecessary work. Out cat needed a tooth pulled and quoted us $3000+ for heart monitors, EKG, Cardiologist services, and more. We were made to feel that we were bad "parents". I would never and I mean never go to this corporate Vet services place again. The Vets are contracted and are paid according to what they sell; not the care they provide. We took our cat to Red Lion Vet on Rt 71, a family run business, and we could not be happier. The quoted us $300 to have the tooth removed. read more

I brought my dog to Limestone Vet for boarding on a Saturday. Five days later I received a call telling me my dog contracted Kennel Cough in their over boarded facility. I requested my dogs records to be ready at pick up so she could go to another vet for a second opinion. When I arrived to pick up my dog, I waited 50 minutes to see my dog, the records were not ready as promised the day before. When they finally mailed me the records, the records stated I was rude in front of other clients. I guess Limestone Vet doesn't want other pet owners to know they are overwhelmed and dogs contract Kennel Cough at their facility. Stay away from here if you love your pet. read more

The facility is a very nice facility and the vets generally friendly but it is very overpriced for the service provided. As a new client, I needed to pick up a prescription for my dog that generally would have cost less than $5. Instead I was charged $20.87 for 10 pills because of a minimum prescription fee that I was not informed about. When I alerted the front desk receptionist that I was not made aware of this fee her response was, "well you could have asked." This kind of fee is not something I have ever heard of in the many clinics that I have taken my dogs and foster dogs to. Especially as I new client, I should have been made aware of such an unusual practice. Of course, I couldn't just walk out without the medicine because my dog needs it and they know that. I felt ripped off and deceived. As a result, I will be taking my substantial amount of business elsewhere. I caution anyone who goes here to look at your bill carefully and ASK about the prices of everything. I had also been charged for a fecal exam that I didn't want on my first visit but let that slide as an oversight. Check your bills carefully!! read more
