This practice is unlike any other Ive taken my pets to in the past.....they put the animals and their care first!!! They are not out to "run" up a bill, they involve you in the decision making process. Our dog spent the best of his mature years with this practice( specifically Dr. coogan) and at 16, when it was time to give him peace this practice was supporting me the entire way. A tough decision... but the compassionate one. Their empathy will never be forgotten!!

I have been bringing my fur-babies to Kentmere since 2016. My animals typically get seen by Dr.Snyder or Dr.Ireland. They both always provide great care. The staff are always really good with my animals. Recently we took our sick cat in and had to leave him overnight. Unfortunately he had to be put to rest. Every step that Kentmere did exceeded any thing I had thought would happen. My husband and I were able to be there while our cat was put to sleep. Dr.Ireland walked us through everything she would be doing and again while she was doing it. We just got enough courage to open the "bag" last night. Completely blown away with everything she did for us as a memorial for our cat.

    Beautiful Bengals!

Thank you Peri, Dr. Snyder, Dr. Ireland, and the amazing Dr. Coogan for keeping our wonderful pets healthy, safe and happy! We love visiting Kentmere Vetrinary Hospital and our pets do too! Now you simply drive up and they come to your car promptly get you back home. We strongly recommend Kentmere Vetrinary Hospital to anyone who loves their pets!

This quaint little vet office seems so wonderful on the outside. And once you step in, you feel like you've made the right decision. From the office personnel to the vet assistants, it's all very good. However, our experience with the vet was a little lackluster. Both times we were there, the doctor spent less than 5 min with the dog without ever greeting him. The first routine checkup yielded, "No fleas," he said. Within days, our Bull Terrier had them and had developed an allergic reaction to the bites. So we went back to the same vet. After a quick run through with the comb, "No fleas," he said again. Then his assistant who was holding Clyde, our dog, moved his fingers through the hair and found them. I'm thankful that he didn't charge us for the second exam, although there were charges for a flea bath and Advantage application and one dose of Depo Medrol. The total bill was still $135. After recently moving to this city I hope to find a vet who can treat a dog much the same way I would personally want to be treated. That will at least mean spending a bit of time looking more closely and caring more expressly. If you're in Wilmington, my hunch is that you can find a better vet; at least one where the service is more equal to the cost.

I cannot recommend Dr. Julian at Windcrest Animal Hospital enough, especially for ferret care…read more Dr. Julian was my ferret Lucy's veterinarian for six wonderful years, and throughout that entire time he was consistently knowledgeable, compassionate, patient, and truly dedicated to her health and well-being. He always took the time to explain everything in detail, answer questions thoroughly, and ensure Lucy received the very best care possible. I never once doubted that she was in the most capable and caring hands. After we moved to Florida, we were no longer able to continue seeing Dr. Julian, and sadly, we ultimately had to say goodbye to Lucy due to lymphoma. Even so, I will forever be grateful for the many healthy, happy years she had under his care. If you have a ferret and are searching for a veterinarian who is experienced, attentive, and genuinely caring, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Julian at Windcrest Animal Hospital.

I called ahead to ask about wait times and pricing, and Kimberly was kind and helpful over the phone. I'm new to the area and have also never been to this vet, so I was a bit anxious when I got here. My fear was unfounded. Dr. Dawkins is one of the most kind, knowledgeable, and respectful doctors I've met to date. He did not dismiss my fears, and was very attentive to my concerns. I would call my experience here a 5 star one. Thank you to Dr. Dawkins, and I want to seriously thank Kimberly because she was so incredibly supportive and kind to us, I just absolutely loved her and her professionalism. I would recommend this location, and especially the staff here to anyone in need of emergency vet care.

Oh my gggaaaahhhhh, I am so thankful that I found Dr. de Jong!…read more I have a 15-year-old black lab that I HATE taking to the vet. Between getting into the car, to the car ride itself, to the doctor taking her away from me on a slippery floor while I have to wait in the car, it's always a super stressful event - for both of us. It was getting to the point, however, that a vet visit was a necessity in order to get a prescription for her preventative medications, so I went on a hunt to find a visiting vet. Dr. de Jong (who introduced herself as "Kathy" - how friendly is that!) was very responsive to my messages and came out pretty quickly after I got in touch with her. Her nurse, Jill, was also a wonderful blessing. Both of them were just so kind and thorough, and did I mention kind? Friendly. Gentle (literally, like the name of her business!). They explained everything they were going to do before they did it, asked permission to place their items here or there, and were overall exceedingly pleasurable to deal with. They performed annual exams on all my pets, took blood, collected stool samples, administered vaccines, and did it all while trying to keep the pets as calm and comfortable as possible. What normally would be a days-long recovery from a traumatic vet visit, with my senior dog limping from tired muscles, and my cat rubbing his nose raw on the cat carrier, took only an hour. I can't recommend Kathy and Jill enough. If I could give more stars, I would! They are true angels! XOXOXO.
