I'm not sure if there was a change of management or someone was having a very bad day, but the meal was oversalted to the point of being inedible. And not just one or two things--the entire meal: the kebab, the rice, pickles and turnips, the lentil soup (which I used to adore). The only thing that was not oversalted was the hummus, which was bland, almost tasteless. Which, salt aside, was true of the rest of the meal as well. I ended up needing to through 90% of it in the compost.

We booked a table via email, and they sent an email to confirm it. We sat at a booth by the front window. Service was friendly and prompt. The food was delicious! The tzatziki was thicker than I'm used to, and tasty. One person in our party ordered chicken souvlaki and it was quite a large serving; at least half went home for lunch the next day. My salad was filing without being too much food. Added the meat at an upcharge. It was worth it! I look forward to going back

They were constantly running out of food and it was a long wait. Overall a quick assembly of chicken shawarma platter took 45min from the time we entered to paying and leaving. I would not dine in but maybe do a skip order because the food itself was good and value for money with portion sizes. Just service was lacking

Tons of fresh toppings and your meal is prepared how you like it, right in front of your eyes. I believe they also make their sauces in house as well. Service is quick, polite, friendly. Others have mentioned the portion sizes are large - they really are! Be sure to take your leftovers for another meal, so good! The two times I have visited, I have opted for their falafels once as a platter and another time as a wrap - so tasty! Be warned - they are not shy with the garlic, so be sure to pack some gum or mints for after! This is now our go to when we come into town to visit family. See you soon, El Mina!

We had the most incredibly demeaning experience at this establishment. We had made reservations…read moreweeks in advance and when we arrived the host (a young man) explained that even though we had a reservation he would seat others ahead of us who had been waiting without one. When we asked why ( we aren't above waiting however had booked the reservation bc we know how busy it gets on a Saturday night). He then told us that it was a family run business and he could throw anyone out of it that he wanted. Then when he was finally showing us to a table told us that we couldn't sit down until we apologized to him. Just to be clear, we had not been disrespectful only had mentioned that we had a reservation. It was supposed to be a fun ladies night out where we introduced one of our friends to the great food we have normally had here however we left and won't be back after the embarrassment and disrespect we felt from the behaviour of this host.

The place takes only debit or cash, so don't forget to bring more than just your credit card! We shared a pad thai, a Cambodiana (green curry based) soup, and then got an iced coffee to go. All were soooo good!! The Cambodiana had a slight kick, but was quite milky rich with coconut milk. It was loaded with chicken strips and bamboo shoots. It basically tastes like a flavourful, watered down green curry... but I'm not complaining! The pad thai was not greasy nor too soft / soggy. There were a few pieces of plump shrimp and the portion sizes were very generous! We were stuffed upon finishing the two mains, and even had to leave some rice behind. I had a coffee craving, so we got a coffee before leaving. At first, I was shocked by the price tag (almost $6 for a one size / small), but the iced coffee was so smooth and rich. It basically tasted like a Vietnamese iced coffee, but much less stringent and not as sweet. A lot of effort was also put into it, with small crushed up bits of ice that quickly cooled down the drink. Delicious! Would love to come back again for Cambodian food.

One of my favourite parts of this restaurant was its ambience -- it's a homey and cozy place and it was fairly quiet when I went on a Wednesday evening. Their hours are pretty limited though (until 8pm on all nights and they're closed on Sundays) so I would keep an eye out for that. Our server was excellent and the location of the restaurant is pretty sweet too -- right in front of the hospital with all the downtown bus stops. I will definitely be back!

Cambodian Village soup was a big portion and was a spicy, rich, thin soup with some coconut milk. Cambodian spring rolls were good: quite peppery, with quite a bit of meat and served with a dipping sauce made from fish sauce, peanuts and carrot. Thai iced tea was big and good: rich and concentrated.
