They were constantly running out of food and it was a long wait. Overall a quick assembly of chicken shawarma platter took 45min from the time we entered to paying and leaving. People had started walking away and could no longer wait. The grill is right there so the restaurant is really hot and heavy with meat smell inside. I would not dine in but maybe do a skip order because the food itself was good and value for money with portion sizes. Just service was lacking

A hidden gem that I discovered thanks to Yelp!…read more The space itself is not fancy but any means but you aren't going here for the ambiance - its the food. Tons of fresh toppings and your meal is prepared how you like it, right in front of your eyes. I believe they also make their sauces in house as well. Service is quick, polite, friendly. Others have mentioned the portion sizes are large - they really are! Be sure to take your leftovers for another meal, so good! The two times I have visited, I have opted for their falafels once as a platter and another time as a wrap - so tasty! Be warned - they are not shy with the garlic, so be sure to pack some gum or mints for after! This is now our go to when we come into town to visit family. See you soon, El Mina!

On Mondays & Tuesdays they also have a 10% discount for students. I tried their original Donair wrap with beef, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. They also have a sweet sauce & a spicy tahini sauce that you can add to your wrap/plate but I personally skipped it. The meal was extremely filling and the meat was so deliciously cooked -- honestly, a good value meal for university students. The owner was also super friendly and can speak fluent French. Keep in mind that they have no indoor dining available at the moment!

We booked a table via email, and they sent an email to confirm it. We sat at a booth by the front window. Service was friendly and prompt. The food was delicious! The tzatziki was thicker than I'm used to, and tasty. One person in our party ordered chicken souvlaki and it was quite a large serving; at least half went home for lunch the next day. My salad was filing without being too much food. Added the meat at an upcharge. It was worth it! I look forward to going back

Another hidden gem in Kingston…read more I am always pleasantly surprised when I come back to my hometown to visit and find another amazing restaurant to enjoy. My fiance and I stopped in for a late lunch before we went back to Toronto. Our server was nice and offered just the right amount of service (checking in with us just the right amount). Loved the black tea with cardamom spice that we were offered when we first sat down - so so good! My fiance opted for the beef kefta platter, adding hummus and I got an order of falafel. Our food arrived with a side of delicious housemade bread and hot sauce type dip. Flavours were amazing and the food was super fresh. Looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu next time we are in town!

We had the most incredibly demeaning experience at this establishment. When we asked why ( we aren't above waiting however had booked the reservation bc we know how busy it gets on a Saturday night). He then told us that it was a family run business and he could throw anyone out of it that he wanted. Then when he was finally showing us to a table told us that we couldn't sit down until we apologized to him. Just to be clear, we had not been disrespectful only had mentioned that we had a reservation. It was supposed to be a fun ladies night out where we introduced one of our friends to the great food we have normally had here however we left and won't be back after the embarrassment and disrespect we felt from the behaviour of this host.

What I've always loved about Mino's is the friendly staff, the take out service, and gawking at the dessert display when you walk in. I'm happy to say those all feel the same. Service is great; we had a fun banter going with our waiter, and the atmosphere is really nice. Music choices were less Greek, more Caribbean, but hey, I'm not complaining! I will say that I love the greek salad dressing (it's pink!?), and although it's simple, they do a good greek salad. My table all ordered Chicken Soluvaki plates, so I'm unable to comment on any of the other dishes they serve. Although it was tasty, I don't know that I'd order it again. Very salty, and I was surprised to find gravy on the plate - I've never experienced that in a greek restaurant before.
