Additionally, I travel with a service dog and the staff here is knowledgeable about the ADA guidelines. If you also travel with a trained medical dog, then you know how rare this is. They always support me with my tasks, are quick to stop other customers who would interfere with my dog and I, and have asked people who misrepresent untrained animals as service dogs to leave when their animals were aggressing my trained working dog. Many public employees will not do this; the fear of litigation and uncertainty about the law make many hesitant to stand up for valid service teams. Their assistant manager, who I believe is called Alan, is AWESOME.

They did not have even one single cashier lane open, only self check-out. I am disabled with a brain injury and I really struggle with navigating that process. I asked an employee about a cashier, and she was so rude and told me to self check-out. When I explained it was difficult, she told me I could ask her fellow employee who was finishing up helping an elderly gentleman at the self check-out register. This guy was so rude telling me flatly to use the self check-out and waved me away. When I explained it was too difficult for me, he flatly told me I could stand around and wait 10 minutes for a cashier lane to open (apparently they were on break at 9am) while he stood around and did nothing. I was considering just leaving my full cart there and leaving, but the woman at the customer service desk who had overheard all of this was nice enough to come over and open a cashier lane to assist. Then to top it off... the cart scenario. Their parking lot is always full, narrow and hard to navigate so I always park on the side street. I was pushing my cart to my car to unload and as I was just about to go on the sidewalk outside of their parking lot (where I was parked), the cart locked up on me. It would not move. They must have some automated lock system that doesn't allow you to take the cart out of a certain area. So I was left with trying to carry 2 full bags and 2 boxes of canned bubble water by myself. I had to just leave some of it on the side walk and come back for it hoping no one would take my $200 worth of groceries I just bought while it was unattended on the sidewalk so I could make multiple trips. What a nightmare.

The prices are great, much lower than Freddy's or Safeway. They have a great bulk section, the only bulk section I've found in the area. Spices, candy, pasta, flours, and more can be found in their bulk section. They don't take credit cards and you have to bag your own groceries, so keep that in mind. This is considered the "poor" grocery store. But I'm not poor, and I like to shop here. Yes, you might end up behind someone in line with two carts full of groceries, and paying with a combination of cash, check, and EBT, but the savings are awesome and the checkout process is relatively quick regardless. I love Winco and if you don't you might be a snob. Bonus fact: "Winco" is an acronym for "Washington, Idaho, Northern California, Oregon."
