This hotel is the heart of Boulder with an exceptional view of the Flat Irons. The staff are kind and very helpful when you have questions or need suggestions of things to do in the area. The rooms are spacious and clean with a very comfy bed. The rest of the amenities are worth the stay- all year round pool and hot tub, places to play bags and to gather and catch up with friends and family. We are already looking for other cities that have this brand of hotels!

Recently eloped here in December of 2025. Brides beware... My husband and I toured the hotel as it was being built soon after we booked the lawn for our ceremony last summer. During the tour, there were no umbrellas on the lawn and we expressed how excited we were to elope there because the hotel is pet friendly and provides a beautiful view of the flatirons. Everything seemed perfect until our actual wedding day. There were six ginormous umbrellas that ruined the view of the lawn that could not be removed. We were told during our tour that the lawn would look as it did when we were there viewing the space- with no umbrellas. During the tour, we were told by Colleen F. That they were removable for the ceremony and we would not have to worry about them. Flash forward about six months to our wedding day and the umbrellas were on the lawn, with no notice, and no way to be removed. When we spoke to Colleen hours before our ceremony, she was helpful but ultimately ineffective. The umbrellas remained on the lawn for our ceremony, limiting our space and requiring our photographers to stand in awkward positions in order to hide the umbrellas in the pictures. This put a huge and unnecessary stress on us for our big day and the venue was not delivered as promised. I was so sad to have to worry about avoiding the umbrellas on our big day. Additionally, we felt misled by the Limelight staff because we were shown the lawn in person with no umbrellas and sent pictures of the lawn before and after the tour with no umbrellas. The umbrellas were at least 8 ft tall and extremely difficult to avoid. Luckily, we did not have any guests to seat on the lawn since we booked the space for an elopement. I would not have booked the lawn for our ceremony if I knew the umbrellas were going to be there during our ceremony, obstructing the view of the lawn and our use of the space. Another issue with the umbrellas is that on the day of our ceremony, Colleen told us that the umbrellas were "too heavy" to remove but they had been removed previously for an event. It saddens and frustrates me that the staff did not take the time to ensure the space was umbrella free for our ceremony beforehand. I was not told they would be there and had to find out the day of our wedding. Additionally, in our emails with Colleen F. confirming our rental of the lawn space in months prior to the ceremony, Colleen assured me that we would have the lawn space blocked off from other hotel guests and the public during our ceremony. However, during the ceremony multiple people were able to stroll through the space as the ceremony was actively taking place. Colleen and another staff member were present during the ceremony but did not ask the people walking through to vacate the space or be mindful of the ceremony taking place. I remember being anxious and stressed moments before saying our vows because general hotel guests were roaming through the ceremony space as Colleen F. stood nearby on her phone, instead of reminding hotel guests the lawn was reserved for our ceremony that was actively in progress. Overall, our day was beautiful because we got married! But our expectations of the hotel and use of the lawn for our ceremony left much to be desired as what actually happened did not align with our expectations. I would caution brides against booking here unless the team makes it 100% certain that the lawn umbrellas are removed long before your wedding day. The hotel's response to this issue on our wedding day was extremely undesirable. The staff offered to move patio furniture on the balcony to the side so we could use the space for a first look. While the space was okay, it was not what we booked or expected. The lack of care from the Limelight staff was appalling. As the bride, after months of emailing back and forth with the Limelight staff to plan the event, I was running around stressed hours before the ceremony speaking with team members trying to resolve the umbrella issue when I should've been in the moment enjoying the day!

This hotel just opened up last week. We checked in last night for a two night stay and so far it has been fantastic experience. The hotel is immaculate, the outdoor patio area perfect for tailgating. The staff is super friendly. I'd totally stay here again if I'm ever in the area!

We drove thirty minutes to boulder and she had the alpine massage which she raved about and loved but I had the mountain lavender massage and it was average at best. We had called the day prior to reserve the crystal mat for me and when I arrived they didn't have it. The lady doing my massage went out from the room, went to talk to some people and then came back and told me it was "in use". She then said she'd add on hot stones at no charge. They also cut my massage short as a result of it and yes we were about 4-5 minutes late but they were a bit disorganized. I paid for a 50 minute and really only got about a 30-35 minute and it wasn't all my fault. My therapist was alright but flustered and didn't ask me about pressure etc. It felt very rushed and I wasn't relaxed so for the price I paid I was honestly was pretty unhappy about it. Facilities were nice though- there is a sauna and steam room and you do get to use the hotel jacuzzi and pool. Again, to that add however the facilities were being taken up by a large bridal shower group and they were using all of the two personal change rooms and get ready space. It was very inconvenient to say the least and for someone paying, it felt like I was overlooked and maybe even a little in the way. I wouldn't be back based on the experience, for such a high end price tag I really felt service and experience would have been better. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend either.

The rooms are very ordinary, not as they appear when you are booking. It's also in a great location--very close to the University of Colorado Boulder and walkable to a lot of shops and restaurants. The lobby is definitely the highlight--absolutely beautiful with intricate details, a vintage glass ceiling, and a grand, elegant feel that gives you a sense of the building's history. Our room was clean, and the bathroom was also well-maintained. The surrounding area felt safe, which we appreciated. That said, the room itself was a bit dark, which seems pretty typical for many American hotels. The biggest downside for us was the required valet parking. It meant we never really had easy access to our car unless we wanted to go through the hassle of requesting it every time. Because of that, we ended up just using Uber the whole stay. Personally, I would much rather just pay to park and have direct access to my own vehicle. To be fair, the valet staff were always very friendly and welcoming whenever we came and went. We also ran into some minor inconveniences--there didn't seem to be enough robes, towels, or washcloths available during our stay. Overall, it was fine for a short visit. The lobby is stunning and the location is excellent, but the valet situation alone would make me choose somewhere else next time.

So as far as location goes, this was great. I thought this hotel to be very clean and well kept. It has updated, modern decor (especially the lobby with funky furniture, CO-themed climbing ropes, hanging swings, etc). Plus their outdoor patio space adjacent to the lobby is very welcoming, with fire pits and plenty of seating. Room itself was nice and spacious. Again, certainly updated in terms of furniture, fun wall air, and decor. Comfy beds/bedding, bathroom was nice, and the tv had tons of streaming options. The elevator here could probably use a tune up, but besides that everything about our stay was seamless. I wouldn't hesitate to return here for a future stay.

The hotel lobby appears recently remodeled and has lots of space for seating. The outdoor patio is even bigger, with fire pits, and tons of room for sitting al fresco. Near the front desk is a grab and go store with various snacks, drinks, toiletries, medicine, etc. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. WiFi was efficient. The shower pressure was like getting hit by Niagara Falls and honestly I'm here for it! Only drawback for me was the loud air conditioning when it kicked in. Like, you had to increase the volume on the television, and then lower the volume when it stopped. I didn't take advantage of the amenities (pool, dining, gym) due to my work schedule. However we did hang out by the fire pits and these are a nice touch. Now, one of them wasn't working and the other was going in and out, but the fact they had them was a win. Personally not a fan of the parking situation underneath the hotel. It shares a lot with the other hotels and businesses, and the parking spaces are way too tight. Parking isn't included and charged to your room upon checkout. Pros are free coffee in the lobby, walking distance to The Buff and Twenty Ninth Street Mall, and overall an engaging staff willing to accommodate your needs. Would suggest this hotel for friends staying in Boulder!

I did go out and make a reservation at a different establishment for the other two nights that I was going to stay in Boulder. Second of all, I just needed to sleep... So this was a perfect place to lay my head until the morning. The three stars is definitely for the staff as they were very kind and very accommodating. I don't know how to rate the room itself. The railing that led to my room was rickety so I did not use it to climb the stairs that were also questionable. The room itself and the bed and linen were clean, but the floor of the tub was so brown that I could not take a shower in it. The TV did not work, and there was no air-conditioning. They did supply a box fan, which I set up in front of the TV (that was not functional) and slept with the fan blowing on me all night. Yes, I was in Colorado, but during the summer it's as warm as Georgia! For those of you who hate your phone, this is the perfect place for you as there is NO... And I mean zero... Cell service. HVAC controls worked well. Comfortable bed. Only nitpick on physical plant is low water pressure for the shower and overly finicky control for shower temperature. Front of house team was gracious, from reception to food/beverage team. The common space around the bar is well used and we enjoyed that there were often students studying together at some of the tables. Main floor/lobby area flows nicely and is open and spacious. The side of the bar that opens onto the large patio has a wall that retracts entirely, making the transition from indoor to outdoor smooth. Radiant heat on the outdoor portion of the patio makes the space comfortable even in cooler temperatures. Moxy Boulder is steps away from the CU campus and only a 20 minute walk to Pearl Street. The only option we saw for parking was to use their valet service for an extra nightly charge which isn't ideal for those who want to keep costs low. The staff was incredibly friendly and the bar in the main lobby was well stocked with a small menu of curated (and expensive) cocktails many of which are very gin or bourbon based. The rooms themselves are incredibly tiny (think dorm room sized) with beds no larger than a queen. Additionally they have common area closets where you need to go for extra amenities such as lotion or extra pillows. Overall I don't mind the smaller more communal style experience but the cost should match and unfortunately it does not here, but if you want to stay in the heart of the campus this is a good choice.

I was attending a conference in downtown Boulder, but looking for inexpensive, yet safe, accommodation. The reviews for Boulder University Inn were remarkably good for the price point, so I booked. When we arrived, I was a bit skeptical given the outside appearance. It looked like an old motel. Checking in at the front desk was easy and pleasant enough. It felt like a small, old school motel, which was different than the big hotel chains I'm used to, but it had its own kind of charm. The room was basic, but clean and comfortable. The real charm came from the service though. Samantha was at the front desk and when my sister and I asked about the safety of the area (in terms of walking to Downtown Boulder and back, possibly at night), she gave us great info and made us feel comfortable. Beyond giving us a quick lay of the land, we were extremely thirsty after a long walk and she was so kind as to offer us some extra complimentary waters. This was a small thing, but sets a small hotel apart from the big chains where no one has the autonomy to make someone's day with a little kindness. Overall, an affordable, safe, and decent hotel in Boulder that I'd definitely return to in the future!

I was thankful though that the bed and pillows were comfortable enough to sleep well in. The towels are rough and cheap or old maybe? The bathroom counter needed repair. Just overall not good. Upon first arrival to the inn we walked in to be greeted by one in tact and one half eaten small muffin on the food bar which I guess was the snack offering as it was on a little service dish not an individuals plate. Super uninviting. The parking was great though and appreciated. We did enjoy the Great Room a little while during our stay which was cozy. When we got back from our dinner on Friday evening just before 9pm we wanted a cup of hot tea for bed and there was no longer any hot water on the beverage bar. What a disappointment. I will also say the tea choices were worse than that at a Hampton Inn. Very basic and not even close to even what a mid level hotel offers. The breakfast was nice. Quiche looked amazing but by the time we came down to eat at 9:45 which I understand is 15 minutes before it ended - the warmer was off and the quiche was cold. We did grab a muffin which tasted like it was from Safeway or Costco but it helped as we were hungry. Instead we had to eat a light bite across the street at the cafe. Another disappointment. Overall what could and should have been a really special experience felt like a run down room with a mediocre breakfast experience.
