This is the second time we have stayed here and even in the same room. The owner is onsite and everyone is very nice and friendly. I believe there are only 20 rooms. Our room had everything we needed and was well cared for. But it would not be considered posh or the newest and most updated decor. We had an incredible and authentic British meal on the patio which was absolutely lovely. The staff was very attentive and the food was served VERY HOT. It's definitely a hidden gem and right near the Rocky Mountain Airport. In the future, we plan to fly into that airport to avoid Denver ‍ and stay at this Inn. I might also note, every night this restaurant was packed with people. And seemed to always have live music. I wish I could find more gems like this in our travels. read more

Going to Denver? Have business in Boulder? The perfect place to stay is The Hilltop Inn. It's located right in between Boulder and Denver and is definitely in a quiet area. The Hilltop rooms were very clean and the place is well kept. Along with the great rooms is a well manicured outside sitting area that's perfect for relaxing after a long day. Also a great place is The Burns Pub located next to Hillside. The Burns Pub features a British themed interior and A British food menu. From bangers and mashed potatoes, Shepards pie and the best fish n chips in the area. They also make a fantastic corned beef poutine with a brown gravy ( Amazing flavors). We adore this place. We had been to the Burns Pub for whisky and a couple of whisky tastings in the past, but had never stayed in the Inn. It was heavenly. Huge room, jetted tub, fabulous staff, comfy bed and the pub just 15 steps away. Lots of thoughtful touches, like real wine glasses and bath salts for the tub soak. We ate lunch and dinner in the pub, and the food was delicious, especially the fish & chips, the Beef Wellington and lamb chops. The staff remembered us and chatted with us about our trips to Scotland. This was our 38th wedding anniversary and couldn't have picked a better place to spend the weekend! read more

Staff very helpful, with flex around our arrival due to the snow storm. Pleasant place, well kept overall. A bit disappointed with being told on arrival there is no breakfast and no room cleaning, not to be deterred, we went to Walmart to get cornflakes and cleaning items. 4 days in we asked for clean towels and bed linens and they did that for us. The pub is very good, but be aware this is a popular pub which is independent to the hotel, so you have to ask if you can book a table early in the day. Front paved parking is limited, with none reserved for guests - so be ready to park out in the overflow field most of the time. read more

Owners are great hosts. Will definitely be back! Came back June 2018: Tried the Jedburg room, #19, also with large jetted tub and king bed. More modern decor and minimal look makes it very soothing and helps clear your mind. Able to enjoy some things we don't get at home with three teens: QUIET time, reading without distraction, more soaking, watching the World Cup uninterrupted and SLEEPING IN (until he turned on the World Cup again :o ) From a disabled person's point of view: room was easy to maneuver my scooter, low, but not flat, threshold at main door. Could pull right up to the bathroom and jetted tub. Toilet is a regular one but was manageable. Shower is walk-in with low threshold and fixed adjustable shower head, almost too tall to adjust (I'm 5'2") since I can't stretch much. No shower chair, but I'm sure you can request one. Jetted tub was hard to get in and out without handrails but the tile edge and edge by sink that I could grip made it manageable. Main door was a thumb-press latch outside and a lever inside. Restaurant and pub were easy with smooth floors and medium height threshold. Supper the night before was scrumptious: Shepherds's Pie and Turf and Surf which was a sirloin and shrimp in a creamy whiskey sauce. My husband and I stayed in room 15, Falmouth last night to celebrate our furst wedding anniversary. I love how close to everything we were, but still felt secluded. Super cute courtyard, the room looks like it's been recently updated, super spacious, loved the jetted tub and how clean it was! The man who helped us was great! Friendly and professional. We ate dinner from the pub, food was incredible, my husbands a cook and can't stop talking about the rueben! Even during this crazy Pandemic they seemed to handle everything so well with no contact check in/out. We will definitely be stopping in again! read more

I officially give this place 3.5 stars. We stayed 5 nights. Check-in/Check out: Both were very easy. We arrived late in the evening on check in and I had spoken on the phone twice with staff making sure I understood where everything was. Every time I called staff was friendly. They told me where our keys would be and how to check in. No hassles! Everything was just as they said it'd be which made arriving late easy. Check out was also just as easy. Staff: Cleaning staff, front check in, and breakfast area staff were all courteous. No complaints! Standard King Room: Pros: charming decor, nice hot (very hot) water, mini fridge, microwave, "kitchenette" sink, kitchen ware, spacious floor plan, great temperature control (we like to sleep chilly), big flat screen tv, quiet neighborhood, very clean, pub close by, lots of drawer space, and cute garden area with lots of outdoor seating. Cons: really uncomfortable springy bed, dimly lit, ONE trash can in the whole room, no way to completely block out light, on 2 days out of a 5 day stay we came back to the room to find 4-6 big flies & small bugs that we assume got let in when they cleaned but, it was unpleasant to have to massacre them all before settling in and relaxing, floors in our room were slightly sloped/uneven, only one nightstand so I used the desk chair to put my phone etc. on, and a cramped bathroom. Pub: Very good brunch and lunch! Several gluten free and vegetarian options. Staff was a bit slow, but they're usually busy and very polite. It's definitely a convenience to have it so close. Location: This little suburban neighborhood has a lot to offer travelers. Walgreens, Starbucks, DunkinDonuts, McDonalds, and a 7-11 down the road are all helpful when you're living out of your suitcase. Very quiet, clean, and peaceful. Parking: 1 night out of the 5 we stayed it was hard to find parking. The parking lot does not have any designated "Hilltop inn guests only" parking like I think they should so on one night parking was non-existent. Luckily, someone left relatively quickly and we didn't have to wait long. Overall, good stay and I want to give this place a 4/5 but the super uncomfortable bed and random pests really downgraded our experience. It checked off a lot of our boxes, but if you want ultimate comfort and luxury maybe this isn't your kind of place. However, if you like charming, outside the box, and quirky this may be just right for you. Despite the downfalls we experienced, I can definitely say this is a nice place just not perfect for us and this long of a stay. I would be interested in a jacuzzi room people seem to like those more. read more

Totally amazing local spot, but the reason this place gets 5 stars is the pub! Awesome selection, super nice owners/hosts/bartenders (they do it all) and great ambiance there. Then they follow it up with great tasty homemade breakfast items. The room is "eh" as it is old and of course the infamous jacuzzi bathtub with carpeted steps to get up to it, and it is right next to the bed, so there's that awesomeness. The room is very large and there was nothing wrong with it, it was actually pretty clean. I loved that we checked in late and the owner stayed up to ensure we got the keys and offered us a few whiskeys for night caps. Stayed at the Hilltop Inn for our anniversary recently. Best Inn ever! The room was fantastic! Huge bed, huge whirlpool tub, fireplace. Clean, cosy, comfortable and SO quiet! What a relaxing getaway. Felt like we were in the English countryside, not near a regional airport. The pub on site transported us to a wonderful place full of outstanding whiskey and great service. Everyone who worked there, from the owner who greeted us at the door to the person who wished us a safe drive home went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food was amazing. The prime rib with Yorkshire pudding made me weak in the knees! Outstanding service, made possible by outstanding people. My husband and I stayed in the Jacuzzi suite for an impromptu local get away Saturday night. We loved every single moment. We were greeted by Brittany, who was friendly, helpful and fun. She made us feel very welcome as she escorted us to our beautiful, huge room. The room is recently mostly renovated, with a few charming quirks that made the room fun and interesting. We settled in, then headed over to Burn's pub a few feet away to have dinner. I read reviews about their Rueben sandwich and chips, so we had to try it. They happily accommodated my dairy allergy, and made us the an amazing sandwich! The house made corned beef was amazing. The chips (fries to us Yanks) were hot and delicious. The service and atmosphere was perfect. The rest of our night we relaxed in the room, and outside in the beautiful courtyard, which became almost magical after the sun went down, and the soft lights illuminated the area. It had the feel of a far away, secret hiding spot. A place to relax, and forget about day to day worries. Yet it is easy to access, and surprisingly close to anything you need. In my case, it is a 15 minute drive away from home. Whether you are a local, visiting family, or in town on business, I urge you to do yourself a favor and stay here. They offer everything a generic chain hotel does, plus soooo much more. read more

So really I wanted to give a 3.5 for the hotel, and 5 stars for the food! 4.5 Star Food - dinner form the pub/restaurant is absolutely amazing. Everything I ate was 4.5 star worthy and Ron the bartender made the experience that much better. 3 Star Hotel - soooo definitely could use some updates! I get lodge/cozy feel, but I felt like I was sleeping in my grandma's house. Just very dated, but the beds were comfortable! Why the 3 stars? My shower head would only point towards the door (aka bathroom floor) where the sink and toilet were located. I spent 10 mins trying to change it but ended up soaking the entire bathroom. We recently were picked up at Rocky Mountain Regional Airport by delightful hotel proprietor John Odde. What a treat! Mr. Odde's pride in his business is obvious and deserved. The rooms are TOO comfortable! I slept through my alarm, 3 phonecalls and 2 sets of knocks on my door! Each room has a fireplace, and they're all delightfully decorated by Mrs. Odde, who hails from England--which is reflected in the room decor. The restaurant, Wildflowers, offers delicious typical English cuisine--but no boiled steaks here, folks! The bar features a tremendous variety of Scotch whiskies. Odde son, Jonathan is "The Sommelier of Whisky" and shares knowledge in the differences in Scotch whiskeys, etc. While there, we were sharing the outdoor area with a "fleet" of adorable bunnies, who live nearby. After one visit, we certainly will endeavor to head through Broomfield on future flights! read more

Mixed stay, to be honest. Our room was very nice and of course the en suite luxury tub is GREAT. However, we were told over and over that breakfast was included in our stay and that we should just sit in the dining room and then the chef would take our order. We did sit and then . . . we waited. We waited for 20 minutes before the manager (who had repeated the "just go find a table and chef will be out to get your order" as we came through) came in to get coffee and said, "has anyone gotten your order yet?" We told him no, politely and then he (manager) went to get coffee . . . without telling the chef we were out there. More people came in, followed by the chef coming out to check on everyone but us. I swear, it was really weird. We were sitting there quietly, nicely, sipping coffee in plain sight and the manager came BACK through . . . after 30 minutes of sitting there our choices were to complain and then have a rushed breakfast made and possibly a grumpy chef, or to go elsewhere for breakfast. So, we checked out early and went elsewhere. Meh. The only sad story for our anniversary celebration. read more

I would have liked to give a better review, but we didn't have as good of an experience with service as others who have stayed here. It's a charming little place, and the room has a fireplace and mini kitchen. Mini being the operative word. Very small frig, more like a mini fridge. No cooktop. There is a sink, and micro. No table, but there is a very small desk. It has a homier feel than a standard hotel room. Warmer. We arrived late and the key was in an envelope outside the office. No one ever followed up with a greeting. I was told that housekeeping was included with the room. After asking after the first day, our trash was finally changed and the bed made (no change of bedding). After asking two more times the room was still never cleaned. We got new towels and trash emptied, that was it. The first day we noticed that our TV remote didn't turn the TV on or off. We were told that 2 remotes were required and the friendly woman at the desk said she would try to get us a functioning "on and off" remote but was never able to do so. We were there for 5 days so a room cleaning and properly functioning TV remote would have been nice. We never made it to the pub but there was some fun music and laughter coming from it a couple of nights. The made to order breakfast and bakery quality pastries were great. The chefs I met on 2 occasions were both friendly and I was asked promptly about what I wanted to eat. I asked to,have the owner or manager contact me to discuss the lack of housekeeping but was not contacted. So, a cute cozy place but the service was lacking. read more

Reception gal was exceedingly good, rivaling the best hospitality I've received at accommodations world-wide. The room itself needed a serious face lift, as the 80's decor is original. With that said, it was remarkably clean for such old interiors. For some reason, every outdoor hallway or portico had sketchy men standing or sitting outside smoking. I wasn't sure if these were other guests or Inn employees on "break", but the smoke was overwhelming and made its way into our "non-smoking" room. The complimentary breakfast was lacking. We dined there the night before and the food at dinner was excellent. Since the kitchen is capable of real cuisine, I fail to see why they don't extend that quality to breakfast. Overall, hospitality and cleanliness reigns on my judgement of any accommodation and for this reason, I recommend this one. read more

I'm reading these reviews to my right and I had to double check to make sure I'm reviewing the same hotel. Yep, I am. The "old man" is the opposite of rude - he and his entire staff were outstanding during our short 3 day stay. I only wish we could have stayed longer. While this place doesn't have "heavenly beds", what it does have is charm and character. The rooms are just fine - nothing fancy (except mine had a fireplace) but the centerpiece of this quaint place is the pub and restaurant. I felt like I was at Downton Abbey - the British feel was so unique and interesting. I travel a lot - and "included breakfasts" are usually average at best. This place serves a full hot - made to order breakfast that is fantastic. And as for that "rude" old man - I wanted to tip our breakfast server, but all I had is a $20 - the old man gave me several dollars. Wish everyone would write their reviews of the pub @ The Burns Pub & Restaurant on Yelp; as the pub is the only thing making the Inn's reviews so high. We stayed at the Inn last night due to the proximity to the 1st Bank Center where we saw Bob Dylan (Oct. 21st). Upon arrival, we were graciously greeted by someone at check-in, given a brief tour of the layout (restaurant/pub area), then taken to our room. I specifically paid extra for a large suite with SEPARATE bedroom; however, I am not sure how you can advertise a suite with separate bedroom when it has no bedroom DOOR. What's the point if you have no door??? Even better, the hinges and door jam plate were still attached to the door's frame, which made it even more frustrating. You know there's a door, but where the Hell is it? But, quickly my mind was off that snafu and on to the stench of BLEACH!!! We had the extra large jacuzzi in the bedroom, right next to where you'll be sleeping, and separate toilet/shower room that housekeeping had decided to clean with pure bleach. The smell and the stinging of the eyes was almost unbearable; however, we were there for one night only and wanted to enjoy what we came for..... the Scottish pub and the Dylan concert! So, we thought..... this is OK, we will keep the water closet closed at all times and just open the windows and let the place air out. OH NO, forget that, neither the living room or bedroom window would open. Next, I filled the jacuzzi tub full of water and scented spa bubbles, wiped down the whole surface, and turned on the bubbles - thinking this would help to remove the bleach from it, but all this did was make the room humid and muggy. So, now I need some AC to cool the room off - do you think it worked??? I'm sure you're guessing NOT by now and you would be correct. Two old units older than your great-grandmother on HIGH did not blow out enough cool air to snuff out your birthday cake candles. UGH!!! So, we left, went to dinner and the concert and hoped for the best on our return. Upon returning, we were thirsty and there was nothing in our room, so thinking like all B&B's we have stayed in before there would be an after hours area to pick up ice, food items, etc. we tried the Inn's main door and it was locked! So, that meant a late night trip down the street to 7-Eleven to pick up our necessities. But, the best is yet to come...... we had the pleasure of having a very young, inconsiderate group of people stay in the room above us who decided it was OK to get drunk and probably stoned and have an all-night party!!! To make things worse, this place is OLD; the decor is very dated and the walls are super thin, so you hear everything. Finally, at 2:47 AM I called the after hours emergency contact and some man finally answered the second number and said he would come over to take care of it, but it would take him a few minutes. Never did we hear anyone arrive and have a conversation with this group, nor did we get a follow-up contact or phone call to let us know the issue had been dealt with. Around 3:30 AM things started to die down, but there was still a lot of noise, so I put my Bose noise-cancelling headphones on and my hubs just got up and waited for breakfast to be served at 7 AM. This was the most disappointing, uncomfortable and annoying stay we have had at a place of business that should be catering to it's customers in a very long time, if ever. We will NOT be returning, nor will we ever recommend this place of business for an overnight stay. We complained to at least four people before we left and the best they could do is say.... just write the manager. HOW RUDE!!! read more

Sean and Nicole were amazing. I have celiac disease and he went out of his way to make me a gluten free breakfast and sheppards pie for lunch. And it was AMAZING. Also got a Mexican mule from Nicole with fresh in house made squeezed ginge, best mule i have ever had. She was great to talk to and very nice. The Hill top inn, in general, is an absolute gem. Small, yet classy with an amazing vibe/look/atmosphere if there is an open room and need somewhere to go right in between the mountains/boulder and Denver then look no further. read more

Always a pleasure to stay here. The rooms are adorable and it's nice to feel like you're in a completely different place during your stay. All times I've stayed here I've stayed in the spa suites and they are comfy and cozy and quite large. I suggest if you have any issues you speak directly to the manager if possible. I spoke with Jamie and and issue and he helped very quickly as soon as he was made aware of the issue. I would recommend this to anyone I know looking to visit and stay at a small, quiet place. My cousin tells me they have the best selection of Scotch you can find, although I cannot attest to that from personal experience. Either way, he's driven for over half an hour to enjoy the pub. read more

We are floored at just how amazing this hotel is. First of all somehow we messed up when booking and arrived with a reservation for the next night. The moved things around and put us in a beautiful huge room. The only thing was it didn't have a kitchen .since it was a special occasion I had brought along groceries for a special meal. Now had nowhere to cook it. The young lady that showed us to our room. Went to talk to the chef who in honor of our occasion offered to cook our meal for us. AMAZING !!!! It had a mini kitchen/table area, a living room with fireplace and tv, and a room that included a comfy bed, jet jacuzzi tub, and a swivel tv. The evening front lady was so sweet and helpful! The complimentary breakfast was amazing. They were only serving eggs/sausage/bacon while I was there, but still accommodated me on making their talked about French toast!! We ate lunch in the pub and it was seriously the best food I've had (pork sliders and wings)! Everything was clean and they offered a lot of towels/pillows. The carpets were seriously the cleanest carpets I've ever seen. Everything looked untouched and new. Behind the inn is a cute hill overlooking the city and a pond with geese nearby. I went outside at night and was able to see all the sparkling lights. The complimentary coffee was good too. When I visit Colorado again I'll be booking here again. The Hotel was quite cozy and a great deal. Unfortunately, the owner is a nightmare!! As the hotel is right next to the First Bank Event Center, many event and concert goers stay at this hotel. The owner will watch your every move, waiting for a chance to kick you out or charge you extra for anything. At 2 AM, he was standing in the courtyard stating "follow the rules" and threatening to call the police, when all myself and my boyfriend were walking into our room, not making any noise. It is very uncomfortable being watched constantly by an unpleasant man, in a hotel room you paid good money for. At checkout we asked to file a complaint against the "night manager", only to find he was the owner. Terrible customer service. He should advertise as a bed and breakfast, requesting that no one from the event center stay there. read more

3 star hotel my arse! I've never been so disappointed in a hotel/B&B in my life! The rooms are stuck in the 80's..bedding, mattress, carpet all of it. I'm not sure anything has been washed or sanitized in the last 30 years or so either. The towels are scratchy and there was hair (not mine) all over the tub and sink. If we hadn't prepaid on Priceline for the whole week we would have run screaming for the nearest Motel 6 or campground. I'm just going to have to go to my happy place every time I walk into the room and pretend that I'm not about to shower and sleep in a room that smells like dirty feet for the next 5 days. read more

Wonderful cozy Hotel I would stay at again and again. Nice huge bathtubs in room, full kitchen, comfortable beds, free home made breakfast and overall good feeling. Also very close parking is also a huge plus. read more

Let me preface this review by saying that the owners are great people. The wife also underwent major surgery days before we arrived, so that may have something to do with the quality of the stay--but I don't think so. We stayed here because higher-quality-branded hotels were not available for a 6-day stay due to an architect convention in Denver. So, we thought we'd give it a shot since the reviews were better than average. I am in a wheelchair, and I needed a handicap-accessible room, so we were booked into the Cortez room, the only unlt with "handicap-accessible features." The sink is separate from the bathroom, and is wheelchair friendly. The combined toilet and shower room is approximately 8 feet by 5 feet, and a large door swings inward. It is impossible to enter the bathroom in a wheelchair and shut the door, so no privacy is afforded for wheelchair users. There is also no room to park a wheelchair beside the toilet, so transferring may be difficult for some. The toilet is a Bemis Handicap toilet that is quite tall. For me, it was a little too tall. The raised "roll-in shower" is about 5 feet by 3 feet, has a 4-inch lip, and has a curved floor. This IS NOT a roll-in shower. I was unable to shower without assistance, and even then it was difficult to get in and out. The shower bench provided had no rubber feet, so it slid while transferring. The temperature of the water in the shower fluctuates from cold to hot and back to cold with little notice. One morning there was no hot water. The housekeeping is very poor, and vacuuming, cleaning, and other activities were only performed if specifically requested. It was not unusual for beds to not be made, toilets not cleaned and the room not vacuumed. This is purely a straighten up, and change the towels out operation. The sheets were not changed during our stay. I thought if I left a generous tip, then more attention would be paid--it made no difference. The room is in great need of a renovation. The comforter and decorative pillows appear to be non-washable, and the furniture is dated. The carpet is old and stained. The room was very large, so plenty of room for a wheelchair to maneuver. The mattresses were older than the hotel itself, and were very uncomfortable. We overheard one guest asking if they forgot to put the mattress on the box spring. We had to deal with moths in the room daily. We were not sure where they kept coming from, but we also noticed they were in the office and dining area. The courtyard is very pretty, with a few rabbits and bunnies hopping around the grounds. They were fun to watch and were not a nuisance. There was also a Robin on the grounds with 3 recently-hatched babies. They were at eye level, so it was fun to watch their progress. The hotel is in a beautiful, quiet area, is centrally located, is surrounded by pretty meadows, and provides quick access to Denver and Boulder. read more
