I had a Brazilian blowout with Danielle. It was my second time to get one. The first time was in Dallas and it turned out great. This time the appointment took about two hours with a haircut which was half the time it took in Dallas but the same price. I did not wash my hair for three days to make sure the process took but once washed, you could not tell I had a Brazilian blow out. My hair was super frizzy and not stick straight like the one I received in Dallas. Danielle said that depending on how straight I wanted it she would increase the tension during the process. I had my hair done for my graduation here great experience at first, but i left with in my opinion a bad color job. to be fully transparent my bill for this cut (dead ends trimmed) and color was 300$ (not full color only 4 strands of hair). It took 5 1/2 hours and I rushed out to make it to an appointment before truly realizing my root color was still slim shady 2000's yellow. After reaching out to the owner of the salon I was told they do not give any money back but they would fix my hair for free after graduation for my wedding in November. Came in with a specific picture of what I wanted. Jennifer, a stylist that has 22 years of experience and considered their "master stylist", did my hair horribly. I showed her a picture and she proceeded to do my hair without any comment. She put a few foils on the top part of of my head. I asked her if it was going to be enough to achieve the look that I wanted and she assured me it would be. After she rinsed my hair until my scalp began to hurt, she blow dried it. I could then see how streaky and skunk-like my hair looked. She then told me it was because I was going to need several more sessions to achieve the look I wanted. I am beyond frustrated with the service I received and would not recommend this place to anyone. I will be wearing my hair in a hat until I go to another salon to have it fixed. I have absolutely NO idea how there are bad reviews about LimeLite! I've been here quite a few times. I've gotten quick trims, a beautiful balayage, full hair dyes, and a couple of formal up and down hairstyles for different events. My hair is extremely curly, frizzy and long so these are services not very simple for hair like mine! This past time I visited, I had Rebecca who completed a trim and Brazilian Blowout on my hair. And WOW, amazing service, complimentary beverages of choice, great conversation and amazing results. She even took the time to really let me know how the entire process was going to go, after I'd faced a terrible experience of receiving a Brazilian Blowout at a different salon leaving my hair damaged and hardly changed. I will always go to LimeLite for any services, my hair has always felt and looked great after leaving. Yes, the process is lengthy and the prices are high but that's what you wait and pay for with for wonderful results that are by no means mediocre. A couple of things to note, they cannot accept tips via card, only cash or check. Remember that, because I couldn't tip Rebecca nearly enough for the results and service she provided me with. Another thing is that the process for getting the service done may take longer than estimated on the phone or upfront, because hair responds differently and may take more time. They do not finish here without delivering the best work they can provide. I love LimeLite and after many visits, strongly disagree with many of the low reviews! read more

I should've done a little more research because no one should have to pay $38 for a simple less than five minute trim. Not a shampoo and style just a couple inches taken off. I came for two simple jobs toning and a haircut. The schedule was fine they actually took me same day but the stylist must have been new because she didn't gauge the time that my hair was going to take longer than it should have. My friend that came in for a trim literally sat there for an hour without anyone telling her how long or when her haircut would be. I really wanted to give this place a chance. Especially for it being at downtown location it should get good business. The setup of the salon is at a prime location, ample free parking, and the interior is spacious and clean. They use the natural product line Davines which is hair products I am used to from Hyde Edwards Salon in San Diego, CA. They had no product knowledge that should have been my first sign. The stylist nor the salon owner (who later attempted to correct my damaged do) had no idea the difference between toner and color or texture and layers. I had $300+ worth of hair color in my hair with baby lights, teasy lights, and bayalage and its now gone. My hair length was at least down to my mid back. I asked for a haircut that took away any damaged hair and to bring it shoulder length and the thickness and to tone the brassiness away. I specifically asked for a neutral light brown no warmth. I got a lob with near black splotchy hair. The receptionist attempted to tell me that I didn't even come in for color just for a cut. Toning a color isn't color it takes like 15 min when you're getting shampooed to change the tone from warm brass to cool tone. She then said it was a problem in miscommunication. I showed pictures and videos of both the haircut and the color. Being a hair colorist or a hair stylist is not my profession so I can understand if they didn't comprehend what I was asking for but if I'm showing you pictures I feel like you should be able to recognize the technique. If she would have said I don't know how to do it, that is not to my skill level then that would have been fine I would have taken my business somewhere else. Don't waste both our time or money. They literally had me in the salon the very next day for 4 hours for a color correction for what looked like a box hair color. The stylist didn't apply the product to my whole head just my blonde ends. I sat getting my hair bleached and it turned red. I get it when you strip color it has to go through a process of red then it goes to strip the rest of the pigment to blonde. I know she was trying to prevent my hair from going through that damage. Which she wouldn't have had to if they didn't dye my hair black. What do you do to take reds out, you apply whatever is opposite of the color wheel, THATS WHAT A TONER DOES! Which was what I came in for to begin with. I was livid by this point because my hair had tons of dimension and now it was red and black. Owner says okay that's fine lets had some dimension free of charge I can do some bayalyge. It was garbage, those were not painting hair strokes in my hair and she just laid the bleach hair on top of each other so they're all uneven. To top it off when she tones my new balayage she asked me if I had my old toner formulas. I actually did happen to have but why don't you know this as a salon owner. The owner then attempted to salvage my thick blunt cut lob by adding texture but only cut the ends. She didn't want to had texture because she said it would create layers. Again two very different things and that I wouldn't be able to see the texture because my hair is not curled. Again not true. She had the same stylists who dyed my hair black start to blow dry me with a paddle brush. I have never been blow dried with a paddle brush I've always been round brush, why? because its smoothens your hair and locks in moisture making it shiny. The owner even asked me if I get "poofy" when blown dried. Who asks that, thats what the technique to blow drying is for. Stylists attempted to curl my hair with a wand tried curling from my root. I told her that's not a beach wave. She said that because my hair was straight the curls would fall. Those still aren't beauty waves. Of course I turned out to look like brown hair goldilocks because my hair is thick and still has no texture. The cherry on top was when the receptionist comes and asks the stylist that botched my hair if she could do this hair style on her iPhone. She responds "I can do it but can't guarantee it will look like that." Then the answer would be no you can't! I appreciated the owner Ashley trying to do everything she could to correct the issue. The truth is they should really either hiring personal that are actually experienced and keep up with hair style trends or invest in providing the proper education and supervision of their upcoming apprentice. I've had better hair turnouts from a Paul Mitchell Beauty school. I would not recommend this place for any type of color level or highlighting, tone, textured cut. read more

Got my hair colored here yesterday - all over color with highlights. I was there three hours and 20 minutes. Ridiculous! Now I remember why I use box color. They were shorthanded - only one stylist and a receptionist. The receptionist had to rinse and wash me because the stylist took a walk-in while my color was processing. So.... I then sat at the sink for 20 minutes waiting to get dried and styled. I probably won't go back. Be sure to ask how long your service will take! read more

I really wanted this hair salon to work out! I heard nothing but good things before I came! One, they say they have people that know curly hair but they don't. Not one single person. Two, They schedule appointments but then cancel on you and don't let you know, claiming that they had the wrong number. The set up of the salon is cute and the staff is nice but I just wish they put more effort into making you feel beautiful! On one of my 2 visits to get my hair done, I'm a sucker for second chances, when the lady was straightening my hair she put absolutely no product to do it. Ummm shouldn't I have had some heat protector oil or hair spray or something? I questioned it but she told me that it was fine. My hair obviously turned out horrible. For my birthday, my friend and I went to get our hair done. I have medium brown hair and wanted to go blonde. Stylist started talking about doing high & low lights of blonde where it would pull together nicely. The end result was terrible. She only ended up doing a partial & I looked like I had blonde pencil strips on the top of my head. I asked for more blonde & She then said we could add blonde in at the end of the month free of charge. I wasn't happy because I just paid $140 for tiny strips of blonde. So I called the salon that next day & let them know what happened & wanted it fixed & it was free of charge. Hair appointment day came & I walked in, gave them my name & they said I didn't have an appointment. They said something was wrong with their system but the young receptionist said she remembered talking to me. Okay cool, so I sit down & I see the young & older receptionist sneak down behind their computers & start talking about my friend and I. Rude right? It's sad when it's the owners mother talking bad about customers. My friend wanted red highlights & the same person who did mine did hers. She paid $140 for color you couldn't even see. Rip off right? So she was there getting her hair fixed as well. The lady who did our hair the first time, well her eyes could cut you like knives. Like yeah, you messed our hair up.. why would we go back to you? Anyways, we got another lady to do our hair and wow! She knew what she was doing! She wasn't rude. She was friendly. I came in for a 10 minute consultation the day before my cut & color, I thought this showed what a professional shop. Wrong. I liked the color well enough but the cut was not short enough, (I wear strong prescription glasses and without them on cannot see in the mirror) but Ashley did not have time to go over the length. The about 1/2 of color fell out in 30 days!!! It was going over my uncolored gray and evidently it was not on long enough or strong enough, even though we discussed the day before. My "stylist" was Ashley, who did not return THREE phone calls. Plus the charge was $185! This was a rip off. read more

If I could give you no stars I would. My wife had been having her hair cut there for the last year and we have spent a fair amount of our hard earned money at your salon. When we decided that we should get our 6 year old daughter a real hair cut before she went to school we had been happy with the services and thought this is where we would take her. She had an appointment scheduled for today and due the bridge traffic my wife and daughter were running late. My wife called and was told no problem but when she arrived was told that she would have to reschedule for a time 90 minutes later. She was taken aback given the fact that after a half dozen of her own appointments the past year in which she was never late but on occasion would have to wait on her hairdresser, was given no consideration. I know that this post and my wife's business will be lost on you and probably your bottomline, but for a small business in a small town, you would think each customer would mean something to you. Very disappointing. And I just wish we hadn't had to disappointing our daughter who was the on really looking forward to her first big girl haircut. read more

Had a very nice experience here yesterday. I booked originally for my one-year-old's first haircut and then asked if there was space for me. They said they were fully booked but would put me on their cancellation list. A while later I got a call and was offered an appt 45 mins after my son's, which I accepted. Kelly, who cut my son's hair, listened to what we wanted and was friendly, gentle and patient. She was finished with half an hour to go before my appt and instead of making me wait, the hairdressers offered to fit me in straight away, which meant switching to a different hairdresser from the one I was originally booked with. Kim cut my hair, which I am very happy with so far (I always reserve my judgment until I have washed and dried it myself). She also listened and checked before cutting length off and was very nice. Rather than leaving my hair wet (which I had agreed to in order not to have to wait for my original appt) Kelly then dried it. Overall the staff were friendly and accommodating and it helped finish our vacation here on a high. read more

I had a great haircut by this salon but the make-up I had done was horrible! It cost $15 for a few eyelashes, not a set, literally 2 eyelashes. By the time I got home, they fell off! I went yesterday in this salon for my teenager son's haircut. I heard they good so we tried. I was very disappointed and my son was pissed. My son brought a pic that she can follow but the lady cut his hair very short and very different from the picture. We can't fix it cuz it's too short! After donating her hair to "Locks of Love", my 5yr old angel recieved a subpar haircut from the salon where she donated; Orchid Salon in Beaufort. After the shop owner REFUSED to even look at my baby's hair, insisting that I needed to let the same stylist "fix" it, I decided that she nolonger rated my business. In a panic, not wanting to send my girl to school with an OBVIOUSLY bad haircut, I called Lime Lite, and they got me in immediately with Natina. It took Natina all of 45mins to shampoo, cut, and style my little girl. She was wonnderful. She also assured me that if there was ANYTHING that didn't like about my daughter's cut, that I had 2 WEEKS to bring her back, and ANY of the stylist available would be happy to help, FREE OF CHARGE. It is wonderful to have a policy like that in place, though I can't imagine them every having to use it. Esp if Natina is the stylist. My daughter's hair is gorgeous! And now she has beautiful cut to showcase her HUGE heart after her selfless donation. I couldn't be more pleased with the staff's talent and customer service. I am actually glad the incident at Orchid Salon took place, bc without it, I would have never met Natina and the wonderful girls at Lime Lite; the salon I am happy to go to and refer all my friends! read more
