    Mangonada

I love their Mangonada - it's a frozen drink that's wonderfully cold on a hot day, it has a little kick of Tajin which makes it better than any other Mango frozen drink! Plus the owner is super friendly :) (Estoy practicando mi español) Me encanta su Mangonada! Es muy fría y rica, y tiene Tajin lo que lo hace un poco picante. Y la dueña es muy amable.

Algerete was my favorite thing here. Ferrero Rocher, Kit kat and Nutella - what else you need. Guanabana juice was excellent as well. I could taste the fresh guanabana in it. Owner knew exactly what the food is, and is very passionate about it. There were 3 food items in the menu - nachos, bocadillo and hot dog. But I would recommend going here for the dessert/drink. Chicken bocadillo was good. Hot dog was ok. There were 3 or 4 tables inside, and some outdoor seats as well.

Clean store, delicious flavors, and consistently good service. It's exactly the right size and leaves your sweet tooth incredibly satisfied.

Limberia Tropical Algarete is a total hidden gem! This is my new favorite spot in Willimantic. The owner puts so much detail into the presentation of the frappes, and they taste amazing! Whether you're craving something sweet, or something refreshing like the fruit frappes, I promise you'll be so glad you walked in the door. I already want to come back in the summer for another passionfruit limber! Forget Italian ice, the limbers from here are where it's at! The ham bocadillo and nachos were tasty too, and next time I'll have to try a hot dog - there was one with potato sticks that looked really good. The owner was so inviting and is clearly so passionate about her business. It's a fast casual type of spot, so stop by when you're in the area for a treat!

"bubbles through the ice" (Phish)…read more You may have a hard time finding Cuckoo's Hawaiian Shave Ice. It's not a brick and mortar store, its more like a mini three-wheeled food truck parked in the rear lot of "It's Playtime" - an indoor kids' playground and playscape. We saw zero signs directing us to its location -we just kind of knew about it from a Facebook post. Cuckoo's is owned by It's Playtime and is open more or less the same hours they are (roughly from 9-5). Because the cart sometimes goes off premises to an event, it's worth your while to call before you scoot over. Cups of shaved ice are sold in 2 sizes for $4 or $5. There had a ton of flavors including Blue Vanilla, Grape, Lime, Mango, Cherry,Tigers Blood, Pickled Mango, Lemon, Blue Raspberry, Banana, Sour Apple, Blueberry, Cotton Candy, Pina Colada, Cola, Pink Lemonade, Guava Passion Fruit,Li Hing Mango, Strawberry, Passion Orange Guava, Blue Bubblegum, and Cake Batter. You can trick out your shaved ice with a Snow Cap (for an extra creamy sweet texture), or Fairy Dust (glitter), or candies for half a buck or so more. No review of Cuckoo's would be complete without a glowing report on the young lady running the stand. Isabelle was delightfully charming, informative, helpful, and as sweet as the shaved ice she served up. We ordered a snow-capped small banana and a snow-capped small blue vanilla They totaled $10.21. As our temperatures hit the 70's and 80's, why not check out Cuckoos to cool off?

They have a nice selection of all types of Japanese food, including refrigerated, frozen, and shelf staples. Lots of candy and snacks too, as well as toiletry items. We were there towards the end of the day, so must of the sushi was sold out, but the items remaining in the refrigerated case looked fresh and delicious. Prices were fair for all of the items we looked at, and felt lower to us than other similar markets we've visited. Although I think that the Asian Market off of Elmwood might have lower prices on some items. In addition to the market, there is also a counter where you can order hot foods to eat there or take to go. There is a nice seating area with chairs & tables, and there is also a counter with chairs next to the window. We'll be back earlier in the day next time to see the full selection of sushi.

From soft drinks, green tea, iced coffee in a can, Japanese pickles, frozen fish and delicacies, etc. The way food isle is arranged, I think, is also very "Japanese" in an authentic way, as if I am back in Japan. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, even though I personally do not need help in translating the Japanese labels to English, whenever my wife goes there, everyone is very helpful. She works only a few blocks away in Downcity, so going there to shop or eat is super easy. She does not have to find parking there when she can simply walk there. We often go there to have our favorite - katsudon and gyudon. She loves these donnuri dishes. I showed her how to make them at home, as they are super simple to make.
