To say that this location underwent a transformation would be an understatement. The owners took over a shabby old building, completely gutted the insides, and turned lead into gold. Aesthetically, the atmosphere inside somehow manages to both feel upscale and comfortable at the same time. The bar/lounge area is open and comfortable, without intruding on the main dining room. The dining area has the perfect mix between tables/booths for small groups of 2-4 as well as room to fit larger gatherings. I have visited this location twice now, once with a small group of friends, and another for a company dinner. During our first visit, we came at 8:00PM and were promptly seated. The restaurant was busy, but not overcrowded. Our servers were extremely professional, and clearly explained all of the mouth-watering specials for the evening. After the delicious meals and fantastic service we had the first time around, we knew this was the perfect place to book our company's holiday dinner party. The dinner took place at 7:00PM and, once again, the restaurant was busy, but not overcrowded. We were given a private room off of the main dining area, which was secluded and kept quiet by the curtains in the doorway. We couldn't have been happier with that room. We started with a few drinks. I would certainly recommend their Fig Vodka specialty cocktail. It was not too sweet and not too sour. We also tried this uniquely flavored drink which tasted like blue Curacao and coconut, mixed with a minty sour. I would only recommend it if you are a fan of more sour flavors. Our table was also brought a mix of breads, accompanied by two incredible spreads. You could really have nothing else for your entire meal and be satisfied, so it was difficult to hold myself back from ruining my appetite. I have gotten to try almost every appetizer on the menu so far, and have yet to be disappointed. My top three favorites so far have been the Limani Chips, the Fried Octopus, and the Mixed Mushrooms. To start, they somehow managed to transform some fruits into a delectable kind of Potato Chip. Not only did the included dip do the chips justice, but the pieces of Kefalograviera cheese provided a uniquely satisfying flavor that I hadn't previously known. Everyone needs to have a taste of this cheese at least once. As for the Fried Octopus, it was coupled with fried red onions. The octopus itself tasted like a flavorful sea chicken, so much so that it even tricked one of our Octopus-hating party members into loving it. And finally, the mixed mushrooms had me dancing. The appetizer came with a variety of mushrooms of different shapes and sizes, that were blackened and juicy. All appetizers came with the perfect amount to share between 2-3 people. Moving on to the main course, I first had the Black Sea Bass. It was cooked perfectly, and came pre-cut. I shared it with one other person and it was delicious. However, after trying the others' entrees, I learned who the real star of the show is: The 24oz Pork. When I tell you this is the single best cut of Pork i've ever tasted in my life, I mean it. Limani's chefs managed to create a work of art with that perfectly cooked Pork. The pork is a 24oz cut of meat, that is seasoned and lightly charred. It cuts like butter, and melts in your mouth. You can think of it like a delicious Ribeye that you'd have at the best steakhouses. Both dishes were accompanied with juicy lemon potatoes shaped like steak fries, but much tastier. I also recommend the asparagus and Lobster Mac n' Cheese as a nice compliment. To finish off the evening, I went with a few different flavors of Sorbet. Just wow. I had almost forgotten what good Sorbet tastes like, free of any frozen crystals, and full of flavor. The dessert was both light and refreshing, which was perfect after having such a large meal both times. It cleansed my pallet and gave me the little boost I needed to get home. Our other party members all raved about the Ekmek, which I know i'll have to try on my next visit. One of their specials was a cheesecake which wasn't on the menu, but also tasted delicious. If you like cheesecake, definitely ask about it. Every staff member took great care of us, and did so with a smile. They were willing to work with us to accommodate our needs and allergies, while offering to make things off of the menu for the picky children in our group. Our glasses were never empty as there was always someone checking on us to make sure we were satisfied. The food here isn't very cheap, but the quality out values the cost by far. However, their lunch menu seems much more affordable; I can't wait to try it out. I highly recommend everyone consider coming here, and booking this place for their next gathering/event. read more

I was able to make 7pm reservations on a Saturday night early that same afternoon... I've wanted to try Limani Grille for a while now after reading many positive and great reviews of the food there. We arrived about 30 min early and took 2 seats at the crowded bar for a cocktail before dinner. A generous bourbon pour (Blanton's with a large cube... $24) definitely got the night started on the right, albeit expensive foot. After being seated, the waiter, Nick, came to take our order... we started with the grilled octopus which was seasoned and grilled perfectly... super tender too. We also had the Greek salad... beautiful red, ripened tomatoes with cucumbers and onions with a light dressing... the tomatoes were amazing... and in March too !! Our 2 entrees were the Halibut and the Chilean Sea Bass... both were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. 2 more cocktails were brought to us as we considered dessert. Without too much hesitation, we decided to share the baklava, which came with a scoop of sorbet on the side... a fantastic touch to offset the 'not overly sweet,' delicate walnut and honey filled filo dough dessert. The service was attentive but not bothersome and both our apps/starters and entrees came out very quickly... the restaurant was packed and there were still people streaming in by the front door. It is a very noisy and lively restaurant... so if you're looking for a quiet, romantic date night ... you might want to go elsewhere... but if delicious Mediterranean food is what you're after... you have to try Limani Grille... it's definitely NOT the old Bonwitt Inn, that's for sure. This is my second time eating here. The first time was spectacular. This time, not so much. Drinks and apps (Limani Chips and Grilled Octopus) were quite good. Steak kebabs were mediocre, uninteresting, and fries were rather soggy. My husband's king crab was also mediocre, his Brussels sprouts were not hot. Having been to Manhasset and Roskyn and enjoyed them, our expectations were high. Funny thing, my husband talked me into it for my birthday today. This is a tough review to leave. I have eaten here 3x's and truthfully the food is 4-5 stars and the place is very nice. Now for the problems. The specials all have strange times they are available on different says (Price Fixe available from 4:30-5:30 on one day and all day on another, unless you have more than 4 people at a table). The arrogance here astounds me, That might work in Roslyn but probably not here. The prices are also high. A glass of house white wine is $16, come on its Commack for goodness sake. A dinner for 4 here will cost you $300-$400 all in. Sorry to say it is just not worth the aggravation of eating there, like I said, its too bad the food is good. Had dinner with my wife and cousins last night and all I can say is WOW! From the minute we arrived until we left almost 4 hours later, our experience was nothing short of fabulous! From the pleasant greeting of our hostess to the fantastic service and drinks at the bar while we waited for my cousins to arrive; to the most enjoyable server I have ever had at a restaurant. Our server,Lina was knowledgeable, well versed, and appropriately funny. Her recommendations were spot on and the food was one of the best meals I ever had. Sunday buffet brunch. Terrible. Made us wait 20 minutes before they opened the door, citing "we're not ready yet, just give us a few more minutes". So why take reservations? If it weren't a Sunday we would have left but wth an elderly mother and young daughter, I wasn't about to drive around and have to look for another place so we waited. Btw, there was already a private party inside. Once inside, being that it was nearly empty, service was ok. Food was lukewarm, coffee was cold, had to ask twice for hot coffee. Chilled lobster and a carving station was probably their justification for $60pp charge. Not worth it. Have had better brunches with better food and better prices elsewhere. I may give it a shot for dinner since it's so near our home. I've been to the other Limanis for dinner so we'll see how this fares. But they need to do better for brunch. Waste of money. read more

The outdoor atmosphere was lovely, however the music indoors was extremely loud, too loud to converse freely, so we chose a table outside. The Greek salad and octopus appetizers were delicious, as was the swordfish entree, however the Branzino that I ordered was loaded with bones. When the manager stopped by our table and asked how we were enjoying our meal, I showed him the pile of tiny bones on my plate and all he did was apologize saying that he would let the chef know, he did not make any offer to compensate or make amends. As a manager, I expected a more professional response and as a customer, I expected my fish to be prepared properly and safely. I am so sorry but Limani fell short. read more

I have been to Limani in Roslyn MANY times and food is always unbelievable so I had the same expectations here. I saw some not so great reviews but was optimistic anyway. We had a few appetizers which were extremely salty and bland. Same goes for the entrees the branzino had no flavor and the lamb chops were tough and chewy. The tuna steak was not well cooked and fish for two , red snapper was very very bland . The staff server are good and attentive . Nothing special . Poorly done wine and desert menu . My wife and I went back to Limani's in Commack on Thursday 6/30/2022. Sat in the bar area for appetizers and drinks. The mussels and the Saganaki, both excellent. We decided then to share a dinner, so we ordered the Fagri fish for two. When it arrived, the piece of fish was a bit small for two people, they also had 2 small pieces of cauliflower, 2 small slices of potato's and 1 small piece of broccoli, this was to be shared by 2 people. I have to say be careful on spending $76.00 on a shared menu item. It was good but not worth the value. There are better choices from the dinner menu that is a better value. They also had a DJ in the bar area, music was very loud and the DJ lights were shining in my eyes. We will go back, if we sit in the bar we will make sure there is no live music otherwise we will ask to be seated in the main dinning room. read more

We were so excited to try out this new restaurant in Commack! The decor is really pretty especially in the bar area. We (a group of 8) we're seated in a small room at a long table. Interesting and pretty artwork on a screen behind our table and throughout the restaurant. Unfortunately they went to a black screen midway? Looked like a big tv screen service was good. Food ok. The applewood bacon app was undercooked and fatty. The guys said inedible. The Limani chips were expensive but delicious. Sesame feta app was really good too. My entree filet mignon kebabs were prepared incorrectly, well done when I asked for medium rare. That was disappointing. When I told the waiter he did not offer to correct the mistake.
