Today my weekly pilgrimage to Broken Arrow gave me the opportunity to sample Lima Peruvian Cuisine, located at the NE corner of 71st and Elm, a stone's throw from Pho 71. TLDR: Good food, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Now on to the deets..... While the joint is actually pretty small, they've decorated it in a way that makes it seem much larger and roomier. The dining area is impeccably clean and tide, which is nice. I was promptly seated by a nice young lady and we traded a menu for a drink order. The menu isn't huge, I'd guess maybe a couple down options at most. I'm not familiar with Peruvian food, but I have had some Argentinian and a smidge of Brazilian. I said that to say this... I did wonder just how authentic some of the menu items are, because french fries and fried rice were recurring sides (put a pin in that fried rice for a moment...). I went with a dish called Monstrito, which is a 1/4 grilled chicken, fried rice and french fries. I was torn on a couple of dishes, and had the entrees not each been in the $17-20 range, I might have tried two, but $40 and two orders is a tad much for lunch for me. I figured if they can do a grilled chicken, they should be able to manage about anything. My food arrived MUCH faster than I expected, so that tells me the chicken is likely grilled on a rotisserie affair that will allow a long hold time. The meal was plated beautifully for something as simple as it was. I first sampled the fried rice. And was I totally surprised... This place could give most Asian places in the area a solid run for their money on fried rice. Done simply, with just rice and egg, the taste was off the charts. Easily one of the best fried rice dishes I've had in this town. The fries were your standard frozen and fried offer, nothing special there. The chicken was expertly prepared. While not huge, there was mostly enough. I say that because it was so good I would have liked more. The skin was well seasoned without being overdone, and the meat was juicy and tender. It was also well brined, because when I wet brine chicken at home, it tastes almost exactly like this. So I was pleasantly surprised by the similarity there. Service was great. I asked my server for some recommendations, and she gave me her favorite three. As with my African meal earlier this week, I was reminded yet again that there are other cultures where the protein isn't necessarily the star, Overall, the food was good, and the experience was great. I could probably argue a bit that the dishes are overpriced, but there again, I've paid more for less quantity and quality, so that's subjective. The total came to just over $18, and while that tends to be a bit steep for me for lunch, again, this was a fresh cooked from scratch meal (fries excluded, but hey...) that I came away from with no regrets. I was a customer of pachac off southwest blvd for many years before they shut it down, and I was so disappointed that I wouldn't have the same Peruvian food as I'm used to. However, I finally had the courage to try Lima and wow, it was outstanding. The chicken fried rice kids meal was fantastic as well as my favorite aji de galina. I ordered it on DoorDash so I can't comment on the interior experience, but I will definitely visit in next time. read more

Located in the north/east corner of 71st and elm in the actual corner of the shopping center. FYI we got the :TALLARIN SALTADO MIXTO Peruvian style stir-fry noodles with flamed beef tenderloin tips and chicken, with sauteed onions. tomatoes, green onions, cilantro and soy sauce. Although there is a bar area, no alcoholic beverages are available at the moment, possibly in the near future because this restaurant is pretty new. Lima Peruvian Cuisine offers top quality Peruvian cuisine to Broken Arrow, a much needed dining experience for the area. Decent size with a private party room toward the back which doesn't really get used often from the looks of it. Stopped by after work on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was mostly empty. Ordered 2 beef dishes as I wanted something safe. The lomo saltado is beef tenderloins stirred fry with onions, tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, and soy sauce served with fries and rice. As you you guess by now, it's very similar to an Asian beef stir fry dish based on the ingredients. It was the better of the 2 dishes. The seco de carne a là nortena is a beef stew served with rice and beans. This dish does resemble more to Tex-Mex food. Is Lima Peruvian Cuisine really a 5 stars restaurant like the reviews have reflected? No. Is it worth a try? Absolutely, yes. But do not go in with the thinking that this restaurant will knock my socks off based on the reviews thus far, otherwise you may be disappointed. This is a much needed and much welcomed addition to Broken Arrow!!! Tucked away in the back corner of the strip mall, this spot adds so much flavor and culture to a busy part of town!! First, the food!!! There are items in the menu here you just won't get anywhere else in town, I.e., anticuchos limenos. If you don't know what it is, just come in in and try it. So tender and yummy and id an excellent appetizer to activate your pallet, especially with the chimichurri that comes with it!!!! Packed full of flavor all of the dishes I've tried here have been just a delight to consume. It's adventure in our own backyards we can embark on and so with gracious and attentive wait staff and hosts. I like the subtle ambiance and Central American decor. Nothing super fancy but it's welcoming and fits the mood. You go in to enjoy a meal and some company. Kinda feels like being guest in your neighbors house. I like that a lot!!! What a treat. Must visit. We though we would try a new menu and were not disappointed. We were immediately seated and our waitress was exceptionally knowledgeable and kind to describe the dishes and flavors. She first let us sample some unique and authentic drinks. My wife ended up ordering the passion fruit flavored drink. I we took the ceviche for an appetizer, I had the Lomo and my Wife tried a chicken dish. Hair in food. Food not as tasty as Peruvian food from Peru. What I mean is that it has a lot of salt. The empanadas needed more meat. The establishment wasn't clean. I tried Lima Peruvian Cuisine for the first time today. It's very clean and the decor is beautiful. It's not as noisy as most places and the background music was the perfect volume to boost ambiance and allow normal volume conversations. The customer service was excellent. Our server was very pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed but was never intrusive. The food was fantastic! We had a beef selection and a chicken selection. Both were very delicious. I was staying near the airport and wanted something different for dinner. I have never had Peruvian food before and the ratings were great for Lima Peruvian. They did not disappoint!! We had a delicious meal here and I highly recommend it. I had the Seco de Carne a la Nortena, and it was perfect. The beef was tender and the flavors just delicious. My son had the Arroz Con Marisco and it too was just perfect. His girlfriend is a bit picky so she had Milanesa De Pollo (Chicken fried chicken) and she said it was very good. Update 10/5/23: came back at lunch this time to celebrate with just my husband and I still cannot get over how tender and delicious the rotisserie chicken is. The white and dark meat is cooked perfectly. The chimichurri sauce that comes with the chicken and the lomo saltado is fabulous. It is definitely garlic heavy, but I am a fan of garlic. I mixed the chimichurri with the other sauces for the chicken and my fries... Couldn't stop eating. I enjoyed the citrus dressing on the salad, which was generously topped with avocado. Husband polished off the Lomo Saltado, leaving no morsel behind. Nothing disappointed today. It was a joy to sip a glass of chicha with my lunch, and I can't wait until they get their liquor license granted and are able to serve pisco sours! Original review 5/24/2023: We had several different dishes and all were truly good. The rotisserie chicken was full of flavor and moist all the way through. I understand that the oven was special ordered from Peru and looks like it was quite an investment: it's a point of pride for the owner to have it. Green beans were excellent. The aji de gallina was also great. The Lomo saltado was tender and delightful. Even the kids' fried rice and chicken tenders were tempting. I will say that the breading on the tenders was different than fast food nuggets: more like a chicken parm or fried avocado breading, which i thought was awesome. I absolutely love this place. The staff was so friendly and even gave us samples of the Peruvian juices they had (maracuyá & chicha morada). The restaurant will be serving alcohol in about a month or so. We had a group of 7 and we all ordered different items and none of us had a complaint. I came here with my boyfriend and his parents and this is hands down the best Peruvian restaurant in the US. I've visited many Peruvian restaurants around the country and this one might be the best. We ordered the Lomo Saltado, the Ají de Gallina and the Arroz Chaufa de Mariscos. They were all flavorful dishes. The portions were generous. The staff was friendly and very enthusiastic to talk about the dishes. The restaurant had some authentic Peruvian decorations. About a year ago, Lima Peruvian Cuisine had just opened. My wife and I had excellent meals. I promised that I would come back and try the Pollo a la Brasa and the country's favorite Peruvian drink a Pisco Sour. Today was the day and it was a fabulous combination. The chicken has wonderful flavors from the spice rub with a hint of smoke. The meal comes with a salad and fries. Along with that are three sauces and if you ask, they can give you a small bowl of liquid fire. There is an orange-colored sauce that is to be used to dip the fries in. A white sauce similar to ranch dressing for the salad and a bright green bowl of delicious garlicy Chimichurri for the chicken. And for me that bowl of tasty liquid red fire. Instead of being true to Peruvian dining etiquette, I put the orange sauce on the salad and dipped the fries in the white sauce. I am now probably cursed forever, buy some Peruvian God for my act of insolence. I don't care. I liked it that way. The garlicy Chimichurri with a little of the fiery hot sauce was a perfect complement to the chicken. The meal was even better with an occasional sip of the Pisco Sour.
