So grateful to have found Lily, as she was super easy to work with for my wedding dress alterations, and at a super fair price! I received quotes from other businesses and was shocked to hear how much they would charge me, but Lily also understood the harsh reality of wedding upcharges and set a reasonable price. I first contacted her end of February, but since my wedding was in May, there really was no rush! Even so, Lily made sure to have consistent check-ins so that I could come in and try on the dress as she continued to work her magic. LILY IS THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS & MOST AFFORDABLE! I don't normally write reviews but I'm a girl's girl and from one bride to another bride, please reach out to Lily!! Lily was highly recommended from one of the bridal shops I worked with and I'm so thankful! While this is a local mom and pop shop located in a converted garage, don't let it fool you as Lily is the go-to person in the bridal community if you need a professional alteration done- especially in complex wedding dresses! I had a last minute dress change and was flying out in just 4 days as we had a destination wedding... so I was stressed out to say the least... I called her frantically on the day I got the new wedding dress and told her what happened and that I need the dress to be altered asap- she told me I can come by and not to worry as she will do her best to figure it out! In just a few hours, on the same day which was a Saturday afternoon, she took my measurements and figured the placement of the bustle. Sunday is a non working day for her as it's reserved for family but she knew that I flew out on Wednesday and need it done by Tuesday but realistically, Monday so I can try it on and see if there's any other adjustments needed. Not only did she worked on it on Sunday but got it all done by Monday evening which I tried it on and nothing else needed to be altered as the wedding dress fit me like a glove! At first, I was told to do the three point bustle but I'm so glad I went with Lily's advice which was to do the French bustle with this particular dress. The bustle looked so classy and beautiful!! I truly loved how my wedding dress turned out so much that I didn't want to take it off on my wedding night! I am beyond grateful for Lily and her affordability! Lily is absolutely incredible. She is so creative and willing to find solutions to ensure your wedding dress fits perfectly for the biggest day of your life. Seriously, don't look for any other seamstress, you have found her (and her prices are fair and reasonable)! I went to a different seamstress (who is rated highly on Yelp, which is a bit alarming) who told me my dress was not made for a woman with a larger chest and there was nothing she could do with the top. She told me she could hem the bottom and create the bustle, but that was it. After getting the dress back from her and trying it on a week before the wedding, I realized the dress was essentially unwearable. It did not fit me at all. I would have had to tape it to my body. The bustle was also extremely visible and bulky, with 11 giant buttons on the waist and loops with obvious sequins, and to top it all off it was still dragging on the floor. In a panic, I reached out to Lily and I cannot believe how lucky I am to have found her. She absolutely transformed my dress. She adjusted the top to fit me like a glove (turns out a bigger chested woman can wear the dress), fixed the hem, re-did the bustle, and brought in the waistline to emphasize my figure. All of this in a week (though I don't recommended what I did haha)! Thank you for saving my dress and day, Lily! I felt beautiful. I had a real emergency; find a good seamstress to alter, hem, make a bustle and the list goes on.I purchased a $2000 dress and needed alterations done to my wedding gown- I only had three days before my wedding day. Lily saved the day! I went to see her on Christmas Eve, came in for a fitting Christmas Day, another fitting the day after Xmas and that same day- received finished product. I wish I had seen Cassandra's review before we chose this particular seamstress. Like Cassandra's experience Lily was about 25 minutes late and came in very upset about her previous appointments and everything she had to fix for those clients. She never apologized for being late once to us. She then told us that she hadn't had time to steam the dress before the final fitting of the wedding dress just 2 1/2 days before the wedding! And then she lifted up the plastic cover and said, oh it's not done. Again, no apologies for this huge oversight. It was 2 months since the previous fitting and she had not yet made the alterations. We had to come back the day before the wedding and pick it up & pay the full price. I would have thought she might offer a discount for her mistake.
