It appeared to be another company that is family business that is handed down through the years to the next generation. The boat was comfortable and everyone was required to wear a life vest. Safety was acknowledged and routinely insisted on. We met our tour guide at Lord Brandon's Cottage. He was a very friendly gentleman with a great sense of humor. He had the entire boat laughing our way around the lakes. It was a beautiful day on the lake and we learned so much about the history along the way to our drop off point. I highly recommend taking this tour.

We visited at the end of the season, so it was quite a chilly 1.5 hour boat ride, but the views were spectacular. The hike took us ~3 hours to complete but was on a paved path. Again, amazing views. They will also arrange a jaunting car for an additional fee should you wish to take that rather than walk. We were driven to Ross castle, where we took the boat ride to the trail head, then were picked up from Kate Kearney's cottage and driven back to Killarney. A very full, but very fun day!

The crew was made up of the captain and 2 resident zoologists. They walked around the boat during the tour answering questions, providing insight, and telling stories about the area. Our guide was absolutely wonderful, so knowledgable & friendly, & she clearly cared a lot about the nature and history in Cork Harbour. Among other points, this was a great overview of the history of Cork city & the environs, and also a good way to learn the geographical layout of the area. We saw estates not visible from anywhere on the mainland, learned a bit about Viking & pirate invasions of cork, learned first hand what the Cork city seal symbolizes, and so much more. And it was just a lovely way to make the trip to Cobh. This is now my must-do trip whenever I am traveling with new visitors to Cork.

We never got off the bus, just sat quietly for the 20-or-so minute ride and then we were there! I did see that there are restrooms and even a snack counter if you did want to get out of your car and explore. I would not recommend taking any of the ferries from the Doolin pier to the Aran islands. 1) There…read moreis no way to know which ferry to take as there is no signage. We paid for passage to Inish Mor but were herded from line to line and taken to wrong island. 2) When we asked the crew about getting to the other island they were unconcerned and advised us to make sure we were back at the pier early in order to get back to Doolin. 3) When we arrived to the pier to return there were mobs of people, no signage, and no information. There were probably 300 people waiting for return ferry but there was no way of knowing what ferry to board or if other ferries would come as there were mind of people and not enough ferries. 4) Extremely unsafe environment as mobs of people trying to push into tiny gangway with nothing but a gap between pier and boot to fall into and be crushed between boat and pier.
