The restaurant in located in a cute part of town and the inside was (what I would call) industrial sheik. Somewhat dim, a nice selection of seating (including at the bar), beautiful light fixtures, and sporadic foliage hanging from the top shelving. The service was great. All of the waiters were friendly, explained the dishes, suggested delicious options, and were very attentive. Now onto the food and drinks... For drinks, we ordered the cactus pear/pomegranate agua fresca, as well as the cucumber/lime agua fresca, both were absolutely refreshing and not too sweet (which I loved). For an appetizer we went with the frijoles charrors, paired with the chips and salsa, DELICIOUS! For our meals, I ordered the chilaquiles with steak and over medium eggs. My husband ordered the breakfast tacos and pancakes. The pancakes arrived with a passion fruit custard that added such a nice touch to an already perfect stack of pancakes. The food tasted authentic. There was an undeniable party going on in my mouth. I highly recommend trying this place out.

The ratings of this place definitely do not lie - everything is fresh and cooked to perfection! I tend to always get the shrimps ceviche and the shrimp tacos! The shrimp ceviche is always extremely fresh and flavorful - I'm not sure how they do it, but it is very unique compared to other ceviche spots Ive been to. The shrimp tacos are always very delicious as well. They deep fry it and the serving size is very worth it. I also love how they give you a bunch of avocado and limes on the side to pair with your food (they do not charge you extra for this). The people who work here are always extremely happy and welcoming - which makes the experience all the more worth it! 10/10 we'll definitely be back again!!

Not sure if I want to call that downtown but it felt like it. The place looks shady from the outside for sure. But the food? No doubt about it. Some of the best sea food you'll find this side of town and even further West! Try it! Service is fast and friendly! If it isn't everything I've said? Come back and flag my rating as inaccurate. Go for BBQ chicken and pepperoni pizzas... since both have meats, they can accommodate half and half option. Otherwise, they may only be able to do one type pizza only. Either way, you're still going to get delicious tasting pizza... no doubt about that! Freshest ingredients used and a good portion of them, too. Pizza sauce flavor is not too heavy not too light... just right. And the crust... it is amazingly soft and crunchy at the same time! Don't know how they get that slightly burnt touch on the crust, but it's so d*rn good. Just delish! As for the chicken wings, just divinely scrumptious! Nicely fried which leaves a slight crunch on the outside and very moist chicken on the inside. And they add fresh herbs on the wings and it's basil... my favorite herb! Hello basil... come to mama LOL! Just the perfect wing! Go for the lemon pepper and buffalo flavors... you can't go wrong with these! They are the B*MB! Try their other flavors, too, if you wish. Staff is wonderful and friendly. Service is great. They are the type of crew you want to do business with. Pizza prices $16 or $18 depending on toppings is reasonable. But chicken wings prices are a bit high IMHO for 6 or 10 pieces, $12 or $18, respectively... I still bought them though... I gotta eat LOL! They also have breadsticks for $10 which I didn't have a chance to try... bummer, I'll get them next time... you know I will LOL! I found out Rustic is a "pop-up" business even though they have a Claremont city address. I didn't know what a "pop-up" is... but now I do. Whatever works to get great tasting foods out to the community regardless if it's from a pop-up, a food truck, a street stand, a restaurant, or from a home. They all work the same... good eats being produced for people to enjoy... it's just the environment that is different. Fantastic job Rustic! Best of success on your journey to a successful business. Stay true to your craft and you'll be just fine! See you at your next pop-up if I can find you LOL... if we are meant to meet again, we shall! And for the rest of you, go and support Rustic wherever you find them. By the way, follow them on Instagram to find their next pop-up location. Happy Rustic'ing!

I love a good hard shell taco and the carne asada was so flavorful and had the char-grilled taste that I absolutely love! The tacos were pretty big too which made me so full. The food and service have definitely had their ups and downs over the years. It's still good, but I don't think it's quite what it used to be, especially at the current price point. I stopped in on a Sunday evening when Claremont Village was pretty light. There were several families enjoying themselves on the patio, which is still a nice place to grab a bite and hang out. The biggest issue this visit was the wait. There was one person steadily working on fresh tortilla production, which I could appreciate, but the cashier was also the person cooking and preparing all the food. I had a larger order for my family, so I was already waiting a while when I watched another family walk up. They were acknowledged, but after waiting at least five minutes without getting a chance to actually place their order, they eventually left. While I was waiting, I went over to the self-serve salsa bar, which was pretty much dry. There wasn't any obvious sign of a fresh restock happening either. If you're going to have a self-serve salsa bar, it should be stocked. The fish tacos were the highlight for me. The fish was a nice thick cut, with fresh cabbage and a spicy sauce that worked really well. The nachos had potential, but the asada was overcooked and a little dry. Overall, Petiscos is still good, but the price is higher than I think it should be, and the wait time doesn't help. I've been coming here long enough that I know what I'm getting, and it's close enough to home that I'll come back when it's convenient. This isn't somewhere I'd take someone to impress or go when I'm looking for a really good meal. I'm not sure I'd even recommend it to an out-of-towner. It's more of a casual stop or a place to grab something with the family and hang out on the patio. Overall, still good enough to come back to from time to time, but it's shy of being one of the better spots around.
