My ob was not on call that evening (sad, because he's great!), but I had the privilege of receiving care from Dr. lao! My first baby I got the epidural, but this one I was hoping to go unmedicated. MAN is that so much easier said than done! As I lingered for awhile at 9/10 centimeters, I was becoming more and more tired, scared, and indecisive on my next steps for bringing my son into the world. Every contraction made me less confident that I could do it, but Dr Lao was one of the 3 in the room who reassured me and helped me through! My biggest praise has to go to her CALM CALM demeanor. What a difference that made! She was incredibly patient with my indecisiveness, never pressed me for what she wanted over what I wanted, but also (so) kindly gave her recommendations and gave me both the space to think things through and all the options before me. She also took great care and extra steps in physically delivering my son, and honored my wish to delay cord clamping until the cord turned white. Never with a hint of annoyance either. One of my favorite details is the wall of photos of Dr. Tran-Kim with babies she has delivered, arranged into a heart. I was told they update the photos and change the display into a Christmas tree during the holidays, which I thought was such a cute and personal touch. Dr. Tran-Kim, the founder and primary physician, is incredible. She talks about wanting her patients to be "healthy inside and feel beautiful outside," and I think that really comes through in the practice. I've never felt rushed during my visits. She takes the time to answer questions, explain treatment options, and make sure you actually understand your care. Something I really appreciate about Dr. Tran-Kim is that even though she owns and runs the clinic, she is still actively practicing as an OB/GYN. She continues to deliver her own patients and perform surgeries. I really like that because there's something reassuring about having an OB/GYN who follows through with your care. If I were pregnant, I would personally love knowing that the doctor I built a relationship with would also be the one caring for me during delivery, rather than having to wonder who might ultimately be on call. I personally like that they offer aesthetic and wellness options alongside traditional women's health care. I know that may not be for everyone, but if I ever decided to have an aesthetic treatment, I would much rather have it done through a health practice where I can actually see the doctor and have the treatment backed by medical knowledge and oversight. I appreciate being able to hear directly from a physician about treatments and what they recommend rather than going somewhere that is strictly focused on cosmetics. He was even able to make my scar better from my first c section! I had keloids and he was able to make it a clean line. Now in 2023... I went in for my Annual check up, and he found that I had a cyst on my left ovary! My stomach was growing and I have been having pains but I thought it was my other issues that were causing them. He quickly issued tests to see the cyst, and found out I had endometriosis and the endometrium (chocolate cyst) on top of all my other issues... he then ran other tests to see if I was fit for surgery and got me in as soon as possible! Now I'm 5 weeks in recovery after a successful hysterectomy, and cyst removal! I've heard horror stories from other women about other obstetricians just minimizing their pains... you will not go through that here... He truly cares! And will do the very best for you! Dr. Marinescu... He is a gem! He's brilliant! And he's such a skilled surgeon... And I feel blessed to have him as my Obgyn... I will forever be grateful to him! And also his staff are all super sweet, and amazing too!!!!
