During that long stretch of time I have been completely free of cavities, gingivitis, or any other unsightly oral maladies. I attribute this span of perfect dental health to two things: - a trusty electric toothbrush - Dr. Simeon's amazing cleanings When I was searching for a dentist in 2007-2008, I must've visited about 5 different practices. All of these dentists had the same approach: spend as little time with you as possible and let the hygienists do all of the work. I remember one visit atwhere the dentist came in at the very end of the appointment, spent 3 minutes looking at my x-rays and said "well...I think you need to come back and I'd like to do some work filling those crags of your teeth, they are prone to cavities". WHAAAATT???? Dr. Simeon is the antithesis of the other practices in the area. She does *ALL* of the work herself, including the dental checkup, taking x-rays, and giving you a cleaning. It is a small office, but an incredibly personal one. At this point Dr. Simeon is like family, I've moved to the bay area about three years ago, but couldn't bear the thought of changing dentists. I'm lucky to have work that brings me into New York at least twice a year, and I time my cleanings when I am back. That's how much respect I have for her technique. I can't speak to her skills when it comes to drilling cavities or performing root canals (again, blessed to not have that in my dental history). But I can only imagine she puts as much care into these operations as she does with her cleanings, which are methodical and extremely, extremely gentle. I cannot recommend Dr. Simeon enough. When you call up, you'll be in touch with her admin, Jerline, who is also fantastic. She is extremely patient and will work to accommodate *your* schedule. I remember once Dr. Simeon opened the office on an early Saturday morning because it was the only time that worked for me. If you are looking for a dentist in Brooklyn, give Dr. Simeon a try!

I chose her because, at the time, she was close by and in the insurance plan. Please don't make the mistake I made. Just find someone else. When we first started my daughter would lose brackets like crazy I thought this would be a problem but it was never an issue we were always treated with respect and above all else care. All appointments were timely and never late, all service were rendered with no issues, my daughter Mia grew over the last two years to the point were she no longer lost brackets and things got so much easier, I truly believe it is because of the care that Dr. Fooladi provided. It was hard saying goodbye yesterday after getting her retainer, but we will see you guys in six months, and I will be making an appointment for myself in the near future. I cannot say more, this was a pleasurable experience and I recommend Smiles For Life Orthodontics and Dr. Fooladi to every and anyone go can get to your care. I am SO thankful for Dr. Hoang after an absolutely HORRIBLE experience at Prospect Heights Dental…read more(which you can read all about at their Yelp page). After a practice that didn't take covid seriously, did an unnecessary and COSTLY dental procedure that I am still healing from weeks later, hurting my lip, and being just a complete disorganized disaster, I'm really lucky that my second shot at dentistry was so much better. I prefaced in my last review that I made the mistake of not going to the dentist for a long time - granted, I didn't have insurance for 6 months and then the moment I got insurance, covid happened and I got scared. But still, it's reasonable I had a ton of build up/tartar/gum disease and definitely a wake up call for me. At the last dentist, I was told immediately I needed a root and scaling/deep clean without them even doing the measurement thing on my gums, just x-rays. They did the root and scale on my right side but not my left (only one is done at a time), which has left me weeks later with angry miserable gums, gaps in my teeth I didn't prior have, and cost me $500 out of pocket. When I got to Dr. Hoang, she actually took her time examining my x-rays, my gums, and my mouth to find that 1) the deep clean didn't even deep clean, as I still had a bunch of tartar making my gums even more unhappy and 2) my gums weren't as bad as I had thought, and I didn't even need to do a root and scaling/deep clean on the left side. If I had gone to Dr. Hoang in the first place, I wouldn't be still miserable, with ugly and uncomfortable gaps in my teeth that I literally struggle to talk and eat with, and wouldn't be out $500 as all she did was a regular cleaning for me on the left. My biggest disappointment is I didn't go to her first. On top of that she's super sweet, lets you ask questions, doesn't make you feel bad about your obvious mistakes, and makes sure you fully feel comfortable before she does anything. Thank you so much for restoring my faith in dentistry. The practice is also great!!! Sallie from reception was very pleasant over the phone and email, and I'm not sure if it was her or a different receptionist at the front today, but she was great too. Everyone is wearing masks and taking Covid very seriously. They sent out a covid form the night before and took my temperature when I arrived. And...... last thing, they were playing Death Cab for Cutie when I walked in. As a born and raised Seattleite, this made me so happy :)
