For decades, I have suffered the near universal challenge of nearsightedness, and have gone through a laundry list of corrective efforts, including glass & plastic lenses, hard, soft, athletic contact lenses, but always return to the traditional safety glass, regardless of how heavy they are (kind of like my Doublevision/tires--extremely heavy, but few flats!). It is rare to find any optical shop that handles glass lenses, even rarer to find a shop that can work with 50+ year old metal frames, which I had inherited from my father over 25 years ago (For specific frame work, I go around the block to Frame Fixer). Anyway, since re-locating here to El PasoTX-USA (Hidden Gem of the World, Crossroads of North America, anchored by El Paso, Cd. Juarez & Las Cruces), Doctor Alvarez has overseen the inevitable aging degradation of my eyes, and always able to obtain my prescription lenses. Despite my insistence upon traditional, vintage glasses, she & her professional staff (Vivian, Richard, Gloria) have never failed in helping me keep a good view of the World, close & near. She/Advanced Vision Care certainly get my "Wheel of Approval"--and it is really important that I see where I'm pedaling! read more
