The squash, beetroot and kale were steaming hot from Pachamama. Thanks for adding shaved Brussels sprouts. That's my new favorite now. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Chips and Salsa didn't feel freshly made but still were surprisingly perfect that our kid gobbled it all. Just right seasoning ( which have been hit and miss in all other places for last couple of days) We also had vanilla and affogato. Parking- no dedicated parking lot. Street parking or public parking is the only option. Place is open till late and had definitely had lot of late nighters drinking. We ordered one drink - hibiscus margarita. It was well made. The service was quick and we saw dishes going out one after another too. The playlist this evening was the best part of our dinner! We were vibing at the songs loved by us 80s/90s kids. Thanks for playing all those songs I haven't listened in two decades. Only missing was a little space to shake our legs and dance away. Hope I get to return to try out more. If you are looking for restaurants in Tofino, please do stop by! I recommend it as a must try while you are here. P.S. I took the zoomed in photo of the bowls to give it a try in my own kitchen

Fresh flavors balanced with the smoked mole, along with the crunch of the cabbage against the soft steam buns. A non-traditional combination that works!

Some Positives, Some Negatives…read more Came here for lunch after hiking part of the Wild Pacific Trail, so we brought an appetite. We asked the waitress what she recommended. She immediately replied that the Smoked Tri-Tip and Smoked Brisket were their best sandwiches. She also added that they were getting low on brisket, and that it was a bit on the fattier side (just the way I like it). So we ordered her two recommendations. After a surprisingly long wait given how few people were seated, the waitress finally brought our plates. My wife really liked her Smoked Tri-Tip sandwich, but I was deeply unimpressed with my Smoked Brisket. Far from being "fattier" as the waitress described, this one was lean and tough. If you took a bite of the sandwich, the entire piece of brisket would follow it right out because it wasn't tender enough for my upper & lower incisors to make a clean cut through it. This isn't the way a smoked brisket should be. I smoke brisket at home and have been told mine is excellent. I've also been to MANY Central Texas BBQ joints, and I know what a proper smoked brisket tastes like. So Chef Brandon - there's a problem. Your smoked brisket is coming out lean & tough because you're doing one or more of the following: - Trimming way too much fat off of it - Smoking it for too long - Smoking it at too high a temperature I encourage you to reassess your process. On a positive note, the home-made focaccia bread both our sandwiches were served on was quite good. I'd like to give Cedar & Salt 3.5 stars, but I'm giving them 3 stars because of Chef Brandon's temperament when speaking to customers. After placing our order, we overheard his interaction with a couple of customers, and I gotta say - he was quite snarky. His comments seemed to drive one woman away from his restaurant.

We dined at the restaurant 3 times during our 3-night stay at the resort - dinner for our first evening and breakfast on the following 2 days - and we enjoyed every visit. Dinner at the restaurant for my partner's birthday was an excellent choice. We loved our courses from starters all the way through desserts and coffee. Starters were tuna nicoise and asparagus soup with seared scallop. Tuna nicoise is a genius idea with all the best elements of a salade nicoise without the unnecessary greens. The soft boiled quail egg was an excellent touch. The succulent scallop was paired nicely with the rich base on the soup. For main courses, I had seared scallops (again) & calamari with angel hair pasta and my partner had herb crusted halibut. My scallops were again wonderfully succulent, calamari was light and crispy, and the side pasta was very tasty but not heavy at all. We had a wonderful meal by the window overlooking the ocean We were hoping to see a pod of orcas swimming by but we were not as lucky as the diners the week before. Despite the absence of marine mammal visits, the main courses are well worth the $30 / plate average.

When our food arrived, brought to us by a wonderfully cheerful and polite kitchen assistant, I was genuinely astonished. The sheer generosity of the portions and the impeccable presentation were truly a feast for the eyes.
