I did not ask them about a service fee. The technician showed up on Wednesday an hour and 1/2 later than the window they gave me. He didn't have the hardware needed, he was not knowledgeable as we explained 3 times to him what we had discussed with the scheduler. He was here 10 minutes, told us he would be unable to get the hardware until next week, we are leaving on vacation Sunday so needed done by end of week. He spent 10 MINUTES, didn't do anything, and charged us $146.00 for the visit from Brandon to Tampa. This company is ridiculous, I called the manager and was told that their service fee is $164 so I'm getting nothing back on my $146; what a waste. Good luck in the future with anyone working with them.

He met me at the restaurant where we were having lunch. He was there within 15-20 minutes as he promised. He was very friendly and nice personality. He immediately went to work programming my 2 fobs. It took about 15 minutes to do them. It would have been less but to no fault of his my new fobs wouldn't program. 5 minutes later job was done and we were shaking hands. My food was still hot. I called to have a locked house door opened (not a deadbolt) and was quoted a price starting at $80…read moredepending on the work needed. When the locksmith arrived, he immediately said the price would be $180. After I pushed back and referenced the original quote, he kept lowering the price until we finally agreed on $150. The actual work took less than a minute -- he drilled a hole in the lock and opened the door in about 45 seconds. There was no attempt to pick the lock or use a less destructive method. While I understand service calls cost money, the experience felt like a classic bait-and-switch. Quoting a low starting price over the phone, then dramatically increasing it upon arrival, puts customers in a difficult position. The quick negotiation afterward made it feel even more questionable. Unfortunately, this experience did not feel transparent or professional.
