When they asked how long we wanted the massage for, I said one hour because they close at 9 pm, but they said we can do however long we want, it's up to us. We still chose the one hour since we felt bad making them stay longer, but the fact that they were so flexible is great customer service. The actual massage was incredible. The rooms are private, and my boyfriend literally fell asleep. I felt so relaxed after, and they applied the perfect amount of pressure. The prices are also unbeatable. I'd 100% recommend this place to everybody I know!

Both times I selected the "30 min foot + 30 min body combo" massage listed on the sign for $60. On the first visit, when it was time to pay, I was told I had received a Swedish massage and was charged $70, even though I did not receive a Swedish massage. I returned a second time assuming the first visit was a misunderstanding. Again, I chose the "30 min foot + 30 min body combo" massage for $60, and again at checkout I was told the total was $70, due to a $10 upcharge for "deep pressure." This upcharge was not disclosed in advance. I was only asked if I preferred soft or firmer pressure at the beginning of the massage. I answered "firmer", which is my preference and doesn't result in an upcharge anywhere I go - unless I specifically select a deep tissue massage. The unexpected price change at checkout caused sticker shock, which completely ruined the relaxation of the massage. I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt, but as this happened twice now... I don't feel inclined to go back to try a third time, let alone try anything else on their menu. The second visit also skipped arms, shoulders, and hands, which are normally included in a massage, and there was no foot bath, which is typically standard at a foot reflexology place. While I did appreciate the private room and it seemed clean, it was tiny and I was freezing, despite a space heater being in the room. Clear, upfront pricing is important. When the advertised price changes at payment, especially more than once, it's not a good experience. I generally tip 30% at these establishments and still did so, as I don't know if the overcharge was from the employee, or employer-but I definitely won't be returning and I will look for another place that doesn't try to bait & switch on pricing.

I can tell instantly when a person puts their hands on me if they have the gift of touch and Steve is the real deal. A beautiful and intimate space with many amazing plants bespeaks of a personal and inviting sanctuary for one to rest and heal. When one entrusts one's body to a healer one must be able to do just that and Steve's gifted technique has been honed over years of applied principles to the point of mastery. He is capable of any level of massage or healing: one only need to specify desired modality and pressure. Massage began with a good epsom salt foot scrub and then progressed to one of the deeper applications of pressure point massages I've ever had in my life, and I've had a few. To use this level of strength and pressure a person really must know what they're doing to effect healing and not injury, and healing is certainly the case here at Livewell massage; one of the finest boutique massage outfits on the planet, sans the boutique pricetag. The receptionist was very friendly and showed us all the amenities of the spa. Even though we weren't staying at the hotel, we still would have access to all the features, such as the gym. We started off in the changing rooms which were really nice and clean. There were a lot of little goodies available to help you freshen up before your service. We were also each given a locker key, sandals, and a robe which we appreciated. Once you are changed, you wait in the lounge where the staff will get you when they are ready. The lounge was water, coffee, tea, and a handful of snacks available while you wait. My husband and I were picked up promptly at our start time and were led into our room. The ladies that worked with us were great and did a good job adjusting things for us as needed. Since I'm pregnant, they had special pillows for me so that I could lay in my stomach. Overall, this was a great experience and we would definitely come back!

I was assured accommodations were available, but when we arrived, the staff member checking us in was rude and dismissive when we asked about the products being used. She seemed annoyed when we asked her to verify whether anything was sulfate-free. Because they couldn't confirm safe products, our soaking tub ended up being filled with just warm water instead of any of the advertised aromatherapy, Himalayan salt, or coconut milk options -- yet we were still charged full price. No apology or acknowledgment was offered despite the incorrect information given prior to our visit. It was especially disappointing because we otherwise had a great experience at the hotel, but the spa service and customer care did not match that standard.

That's not what this review is about. This is about Sydney. I was refered to Bay Physical Therapy for pain which increased when I swam (usually 1.5 miles, three times a week), and during sex. I understand that the topic of sex can make people uncomfortable, but it is an important quality of life issue, and my doctor was so reasonable with his "yes, if this is impacting your ability to have sex, that is an important thing and I want to help you solve this, while the therapist I saw seemed really uncomfortable with the idea that I want to have sex that doesn't leave me in pain for days. I recognize that recent grads are going to have limited experience, but I felt my needs were very much beyond her skill levels. It happened that most of the other patients that I saw her treating were ones who were seniors who are rehabbing from surgery. I'm an athletic middle-aged person and she really didn't seem to understand that that is different from someone who just had their knee rebuilt and wants to be able to walk across a room with minimal assistance. I felt like she really had no clue and no skill. When I eventually grew too frustrated with her lack of attention, I said I was done and that I was leaving. She was confused. I said that working with her was a waste of her time and mine. When I left, I canceled all my remaining appointments, and the receptionist asked why, and I said I was unwilling to work with Sydney. While I generally found the receptionist helpful, I was disappointed that she did not offer to reschedule me with another practicioner, and that no one reached out to me.
