My only con with this place (such great kindness and such a beautiful spa) is that the massage was short. My bf got me 90 mins for my bday! which was $220, which would be fine if my massage wasn't like 75 mins :(. It started at ~5:20 (appointment was @5:15) but they stopped massaging at 6:35. I dont know if that's standard for places but it felt unfair to charge 90 mins for all that, I was even out the room by 6:40 even though he planned on picking me up at 6:45. I tipped pretty low because of it :| Even though the masseuse was so nice I just feel like my bf got ripped off a little bit. We started off in the changing rooms which were really nice and clean. There were a lot of little goodies available to help you freshen up before your service. We were also each given a locker key, sandals, and a robe which we appreciated. Once you are changed, you wait in the lounge where the staff will get you when they are ready. The lounge was water, coffee, tea, and a handful of snacks available while you wait. My husband and I were picked up promptly at our start time and were led into our room. The ladies that worked with us were great and did a good job adjusting things for us as needed. Since I'm pregnant, they had special pillows for me so that I could lay in my stomach. I have scoliosis and told my massage therapist I have tightness on my left side. She went over it quickly then spent a LOT of time on my right side. I thought she'd return back to the left side but then she moved to the legs, so I figured she'd get back to my problem area as a finisher. Soon, the massage was over. So that was a bummer. I also asked for firmer pressure early on and I could've sworn I heard her scoff at my request. Another big bummer. I'm not mean spirited so I said everything was fine at the end because at that point what can she even do? Probably nothing. I didn't speak up during the service about returning to my problem area because who am I to direct a professional when I'm assuming she heard me and would address it later on? I really hate to say it but I could have paid less than half the $300 I spent here and stayed home instead of flying out to this spa specifically to be disappointed like this. I reached out to them about this on a Friday and as of today (Wednesday) I haven't heard back from them. It's definitely a very cute, fun place to throw money at if you have it to throw, but if you want services that are actually worth your money with providers who are world class professionals at what they do, this is not the place. The amenities are nice. I can tell it's not meant to get ready in, rather you'd have a spa day then return to your room to get ready. This is about Sydney. I was refered to Bay Physical Therapy for pain which increased when I swam (usually 1.5 miles, three times a week), and during sex. I understand that the topic of sex can make people uncomfortable, but it is an important quality of life issue, and my doctor was so reasonable with his "yes, if this is impacting your ability to have sex, that is an important thing and I want to help you solve this, while the therapist I saw seemed really uncomfortable with the idea that I want to have sex that doesn't leave me in pain for days. I recognize that recent grads are going to have limited experience, but I felt my needs were very much beyond her skill levels. It happened that most of the other patients that I saw her treating were ones who were seniors who are rehabbing from surgery. I'm an athletic middle-aged person and she really didn't seem to understand that that is different from someone who just had their knee rebuilt and wants to be able to walk across a room with minimal assistance. I felt like she really had no clue and no skill. When I eventually grew too frustrated with her lack of attention, I said I was done and that I was leaving. She was confused. I said that working with her was a waste of her time and mine. When I left, I canceled all my remaining appointments, and the receptionist asked why, and I said I was unwilling to work with Sydney. While I generally found the receptionist helpful, I was disappointed that she did not offer to reschedule me with another practicioner, and that no one reached out to me.
