Stacy is wonderful. Lets just say I didn't realize how much pain I was in until it was gone. I'm a boxer, and having mobility in my arms is extremely important to me. She worked under and around my scapula with deep tissue, and when she was done I had an unbelievable amount of mobility restored in my arms. I had my first massage with Stacy today and I was thoroughly impressed. My body enjoyed the revitilizing massage. In general I like my massages very "hard" or with strong pressure and Stacy delivered. I'm sure if you wanted a relaxing pampering massage she could do so, but I'm more into massages that will help get rid of my ridiculous knots all over my shoulder-line, upper-back and neck. I've read all the comments, and there's no comment about her place to get a massage so I assume no one went through what we went through. And I think that was a big mistake in my part. There are so many wrong things about this, but it's so long that I have to make this as short as possible. So here are the problems. 1. Her home is VERY uncomfortable, cluttered, messy, very dark, dirty, and was just not relaxing at all. 2. She gave me a black-stained, and over used towel to help me wipe something off my pants. Stacy says, "it's not dirty, it just has stains".....ok? Stains are there because the particles are still stuck onto it. 3. Her toilet was not functional, nor was her sink. 4. I don't know if it's the style of the sink, but her sink looks like it hasn't been clean for months or even a year; green and white looking. 5. Stacy put on very bad and cheesy songs for the "relaxation process", and her video tape player or dvd didn't work and kept stuttering so she puts on some random old trailers of movies, then when that didn't work shortly after, she puts in a war video of a man retelling his story of how he survived. There was blood staining effects in the movie and I was like...she says that she puts those on so I won't be bored while I'm waiting for my turn..... 6. Of all the massages I've gotten, this one must be the most painful I have ever had. I didn't close my eyes for even a second cause I was so afraid that she might hurt me again. It was my mistake for not telling her that it hurted, but I asked for a deep tissue massage and I expected that it should hurt a bit but this type of hurt was unnecessary. For example, usually they press onto the muscles and slide down on the edges of the scapula but instead of the muscles in which is the main part of why we're getting a massage, she massaged my BONE and several times at it. 7. She needs to cut her nails shorter, cause I can feel her nails cutting me. 8. She pulled onto my toes, and then I felt SHARP and very painful feeling from it. Usually I don't say anything if it hurts, but if it realllllyyy hurts, I say something. She said there was crystals inside my vessels because I don't drink enough water, and I thought that was useful information, but I really thought she dug her nails into my helpless toe, and even when I gave her a hint that it hurts by saying, and tugging my feet away from her, she still didn't let go. It was soooo damn painful and just thinking about it pisses me off still today. 9. She rubs and pulls on your skin and usually I don't mind that unless they don't put enough liquid onto your skin to create moisture to prevent indian burn. I held it in. I think I held things in because I really don't want to keep on updating them what they should be doing, because I really just want to see their knowledge in their jobs. 10. Her advertisement pictures are deceiving. I didn't want to judge the book by its cover so I took the chance with Stacy, and I wouldn't even care for her house if we just gotten a really good massage, but there was neither. We paid her, walked out, and didn't say anything for the whole road trip to the Refuge. And omg, luckily we still had the Refuge. If it weren't for the Refuge, I wouldn't be able to sleep for a week. Stacy massage didn't feel relaxing, or most importantly relieving afterwards. My knots were still there, and we didn't feel at all different, just lots of indian burn, muscle and bone aching. I think if we didn't get a massage in her home, then it would've been better. Message to Stacy: I have to say Stacy, please learn that massages are not the only thing that helps people relax, but the surroundings, and the environment as well. And personally, I think that it's selfish of you for not warning us the actual state of your home, and putting up pictures on yelp that does not resemble to reality and deceiving people. The only good thing about that whole experience was how kind and nice you were. Unfortunately I have to be the mean jerk and say this, but its only the truth. read more

Let us just say, Stacy is great, I called her last week, because I had an issue with my back, I could not walk straight, and I had pain in my lower back, and my shoulders, I called her, she returned my call promptly, and came right away when she knew I was in that much pain, I received my first massage this evening and even before she left, I was able to walk with my back straight, she did wonder, and I was able to fall asleep that night, where the night before I could not even move in my bed. She worked out all of my deep knots, I will definitely recommend her to everyone I know, and I decided to schedule a bi-monthly massage with her from now on. Thanks Stacy. read more

Stacy is legit. I have now learned that the "deep-tissue" massages I received before were not actually deep-tissue. I work out a lot, like to lift weights, so I don't seek massage for the pretty music and aroma infusers--I want someone to fix my body!! I didn't have to tell Stacy what was wrong, which is awesome because I'm not a professional, so how should I know? She got to work and found every tight and angry muscle and taught them each a lesson. I wish I had found her a year ago. I wish I could pack her in a suitcase and take her with me. Oh, and she saw me on 30 minutes notice. And not that it bears on her competence level, but she is also hilarious. It doesn't hurt. I'm a huge fan. I am going back. And don't be fooled. She looks like sweet Aunt Mary, but when she starts working on your muscles you'd think she was Mike Tyson. Stacy is no joke. She has some serious strength. I received my first massage from Stacy this evening and it was exactly what I needed. I felt very comfortable from the get-go and it only got better. I can not find enough wonderful things to say about my experience. Stacy was very friendly, professional, and flexible/ accomodating when it came to scheduling. Her prices were very reasonable. Being my first massage, the experience was so comfortable, it felt like I had done this a hundred times. I highly recommend Stacy for everyone, but especially for athletes... she has a lot of experience with us. I honestly did not know how much pain I had been living with until it was gone. Stacy Lininger: OMG...AWFUL. These other reviews must have been written by her friends and/or mobile massage. She came last night bragging how deep tissue and therapeutically fixing you is her speciality. She came completely disheveled, even a curler hanging from her hair. She brought her table without a mattress pad, sheet only. I was freezing the whole time and had to use one of my afghans over her sheet. The table was then cold and the sheet wouldn't stay in place. She was constantly trying to straighten it. I told her I had just had expensive stem cell treatment in my neck and shoulders, not to rub it deep. She went very deep and repeatedly rubbed the same sore spots over and over, deeply What did she do. Spent forty five minutes going deep into my neck and shoulder which had no pain. I finally had to tell her to stop and move to another area. Today, because of that, I am in tremendous pain in neck and shoulder and I don't know if she ruined the results of the stem cell placement as I was told not to have any activity for 3 weeks. I get massaged twice a week and know good massages. She had no technique, could just press hard. She needs more training in muscles or just quit and do her dog baby-sitting job she started. Thats more her level.. Waste of money using her. read more

Stacy was outstanding. She was very accommodating and found something that worked for my schedule. There are two sides of the massage spectrum: energy v. science. Stacy is two scoops of science, and she knows her trade well. I am on the other side of the spectrum and look for people that share my beliefs, but I am going back to Stacy because of my confidence in her. For me, that is a lot. She found parts of my body in knots and pain very easily and spent the right amount of time on each. And, doing a ton of physical activities she applied the right amount of deep tissue work that I needed (a lot). Full marks. Recommended highly. read more

I have had several massages with Stacy. I had chronic pain in my upper back and for several years had very sore, tense neck and shoulder muscles from working on the computer. It became so bad that disks in my back started bulging and pinching nerves. I thought it was just the way backs and shoulders felt. Well, until I started getting massages from Stacy, that is. (I also was getting treated by a chiropractor, which also helped!). Within a couple of sessions my back was the best I had felt in a long time. I felt several inches taller and had a much better posture. Stacy really worked on releasing several trigger points in my sore shoulder muscles. We called Stacy late afternoon on a Sunday looking to book two deep tissue massage appointments. I was not holding out much hope since it was already 3pm but Stacy answered the phone with a friendly hello and was able to fit my husband and I in for back to back massage appointments that evening...in the comfort of our home! Stacy was very professional and friendly and we were immediately at ease with her. She is very knowledgeable and actually does practice deep tissue massage unlike so many fluffy spas in the area, and she diligently worked out our knots and tension leaving us both relaxed and renewed. While I was hesitant before finding Stacy about having someone in our home for massage services this was such a treat and a relaxed experience we will be booking again very soon! stacy is amazing. i left her a voice mail and it was less then 30 mins later she called me back. it was like 6 and she was able to come that night still. i had spent the last year at dli as a marine; thats a lil bit stressful and hard on ur body. she came to my apartment and released every tension i had in my entire body. it took almost 3 hours; and she did it the right way. her deep tissue is her specialty and she is incredible. i so will recommend her to everybody! she has been doing this 15 years and she loves it... and u can tell just look at her reviews before mine, not even a 4.5 in there, every single one is 5 stars! stop reading this and go call her now! read more

I read many reviews for massage therapists in the Monterey area. I was in a lot of pain and knew I needed someone who knew their stuff - thus the reason the reviews regarding Stacy stood out. I have had one massage and Stacy was able to spot the points around my body that needed to be released. She really does know what she is doing. I am having another massage, today - my body had some pretty tight ligaments and muscles due to a move from Southern Calif to Monterey. Stacy does do deep tissue and other workable forms of massage, and the deep tissue she does is geared to each individual. She will go as deep as the person can handle so for those who are timid - do not be concerned - Stacy is an expert. You are in good hands, literally, with this terrific massage thereapist.
