My hardship story began with the DOD calling a halt to all movement including PCS (permanent change of station). My husband had detached from his duty station at the Navy Yard and reported for duty at USSOCOM. By the time the DOD made the order, my husband and I were already in boxes, we owned our home in Florida and our home in Virginia was closing within the week. So, we drove our cars packed with our valuables, our puppies and some clothes to Riverview to begin our new life. We had very little furniture (we'd purchased some things from the seller and bought a few things the day we closed.) COVID -19 ramped up into a surreal state and the Navy could not convince the DOD to turn our move back on. In the meantime, we were sleeping on mattresses lain on the floor. Most places were closed to our needs. Badcock Furniture was open and it was a pretty urgent need (because we aren't spring chickens and a bad night sleep just effects us so hard now). We went to their showroom. We were greeted upon arrival from a most significant distance. We were allowed to browse the floor models after touching items and moving away an associate sanitized anything we were in contact with. Upon making our choices for bedroom furniture the salesmen (who respected social distancing) directed us to pay via electronic pad. With this virus being as serious as it is, my husband was hesitant. The clerk assured him that it was sanitized after each transaction. (Smart) A mere four days later a two man team politely, efficiently and quickly delivered and assembled our bedroom set. They explained each safety precaution to us and proceeded to maintain an acceptable social distance. I've never been so grateful to companies going above and beyond as I have been these last few weeks. My back feels so much better and despite having virtually none of my things the house is gradually starting to feel like home. Excellent work Badcock we will be back in the future.

I didn't find exactly what I was looking for this time around - though they had plenty of great pieces and they get new items in all the time - but I have to share how wonderful and helpful their team is. Not only is the store well designed and easy to navigate, but while I searched, I was asked by a few team members during my walk around if I needed any help. They weren't pushy and didn't stop me from what I was doing - just gently reminding me they were there if I needed them. Eventually, I realized I could use their help with some design choices I wasn't sure about. They happily walked around and showed me items like what I was looking for, and they were so helpful in honestly replying to my questions about whether certain items would look right with my furniture, which I showed them a photo of. They were honest and weren't just trying to make a sale - letting me know that my hesitation was right and the certain item didn't quite fit. But they showed me some other items that might. Super helpful and I truly appreciate their time and friendly demeanor. Now, to the gem I found along the way! Last holiday season, I badly wanted to purchase this adorable golden bear decor, as it reminded me of the giant golden bears out on Water Street. However, they sold out quickly and had to be purchased as a pair with a second panda decor that I didn't want, so I never purchased it. Imagine my surprise when I walked in to the Interbay Dwell location today and found it! I'm so excited to display it for this holiday season. Once I finish up with my move, I'm excited to go back to Dwell and figure out the finishing touches. And I know the friendly team there will be there to help!

I wanted color, a fun print and a size big enough to fill the space. So I ordered two of the chairs. maybe a little more than I wanted to spend, but they were exactly what I had in mind! Even Hubby liked them, which was a minor miracle since we seldom agree on such things. We went to check out (sorry I forgot the lady's name that waited on us, but she was very nice). They no longer treat the chairs for stains, which was a little disappointing. Of course she tried to sell us a warranty, which I always refuse to buy. The transaction was over so I paid, and she told us that our chairs would be here in two days. I must admit I was skeptical. I didn't believe that it would happen in two days, but lo and behold two days later our chairs arrived. I checked them all for tears or any kind of damage. They were perfect. The gentleman bringing the chairs in and setting them up were great, no issues at all! We put them in place where we wanted them and stood back and admired our new sitting area. Not 10 minutes late. My phone rang and it was someone from Ashley's asking if everything went OK with our delivery. I was very impressed with that. I call that Good service. We will return to Ashley's if we need anything else for our home.

I made the mistake of purchasing a 5-piece sectional from Ashley Furniture on 10/03 and the…read moreexperience that followed has made me regret ever giving this company my business. Ashley Furniture has had ample time to make this right and consistently failed to do so. My couch delivery was set for 10/10, the Saturday following the weekend I made the purchase. When the furniture arrived, one of the 5 pieces I purchased was mislabeled in the warehouse and not correct. I immediately called the customer service call center and apprised them of the issue so they could correct it. I was told a ticket was open and I would receive a call soon. After a few hours with no call, I called and spoke with the store itself and was told they also created a ticket for me to correct the issue. I also received an email that day from Ashley Furniture requesting photos of the pieces of sectional I received and photos of the mislabeled piece, and it said I would receive a call in 72 hours. I sent the photos 10 minutes after receiving the email. 10/13 - 72 hours later, I still had not received a call and sent another email requesting a call to address the issue. I also sent a text to the sales rep Val who provided her number to me in case I had any issues. I never got a response. My mother went to the store in person on this day as well, and was told someone already called me, and it has been handled - which was not true. 10/14 - Still no call from Ashley Furniture. I call the store and speak with Michael, the manager. He says he's been on vacation and can't believe this hasn't been taken care of sooner. He reaches out to someone in the warehouse to address it. 10/15 - Warehouse rep calls me to schedule delivery and says the following Tuesday is the soonest because "unfortunately our deliveries book up fast." Even though she had just finished telling me that since I still had the incorrect piece of furniture in my possession, they could have corrected the issue the same weekend 10/10 they tried to deliver, but due to literally no one reaching out to me nothing was ever done. I argued for Saturday delivery due to the service failure on Ashley Furniture's part and not wanting to miss work to be present for a delivery that should've happened sooner. 10/17 - Saturday, time for delivery. Ashley Furniture delivers yet another wrong piece of furniture to my doorstep. I live in a small apartment, and have now had a huge chunk of furniture sitting in the middle of the apartment for 7 days, and now longer because they still can't seem to deliver the correct piece to me. 10/20 - I have to take time off of work to be present for ANOTHER delivery, and it must be true what they say-third times the charm. I received the correct piece. Throughout this, I am offered 20% off of my purchase by Jessica, the store manager. I told her after one service failure, I might be okay with 20% off. However, I have now missed work, canceled plans, called texted and emailed with no response, all to receive the furniture I just spent over $3,000 for. I requested 30% off for compensation due to multiple failed attempts to correct the issues Ashley Furniture caused. Did I get 30% off? No. Did I even get 20% off? Also no! Jessica raised my concerns to Ashley Furniture's Corporate Escalation team, who ultimately decided that a WHOPPING $150 off of my entire purchase is their final decision. After everything I described above, after giving Ashley Furniture $3,026.13 worth of my business, after being offered 20% off which would have equated to $605.23 - corporate decides $150 is really all the compensation needed and closes the case. So if you're looking for furniture and considering Ashley Furniture, ask yourself this: If you find yourself in my shoes or a similar situation after your purchase, would $150 be worth it to you? It isn't worth it to me. It isn't even worth the money I lost when missing work because of this experience. I will never shop at Ashley Furniture again, and am still waiting for Ashley Furniture to finally make this right.

I went to Shaunessy's amazing store during the holidays to find a unique, one-of-a-kind piece for my Mom's Christmas gift. During my 'raising kids' years, Mom and I used to spend countless hours in these types of shops. On weekends, we also would go to Estate Sales to find collectibles for our homes. I knew she would love anything from here. This shop is a place where you will find unique items that eventually will be collectibles in the future, or even now, because many of them already are antiques. One of the things I saw here that was of particular interest, because of its unusual nature, was made by a local woodworker. He crafts fruit holder centerpieces, made out of old oak wine barrels and old whiskey barrels. Use your imagination for the usage on a dining room table, buffet/sideboard top, and even just on the kitchen counter. This craftsman fashions the bent wood into lovely, long, curving and graceful centerpieces that hold and display items inside the indentations he makes in the strip of wood. There were many different styles, some holding 6 or 7 single lemons, spaced about an inch apart, which gave the piece a pop of color. There also were others with 6 votive candles placed in a row. A really unique gift that looks spectacular on the dining table. Speaking of custom pieces, Shaunessy's makes many of them, including 'farm' and other types of tables in different shapes and sizes, and those ever-so-popular custom-made barn doors, which interior designers are now decorating with, for everything from pantry doors to closet doors and beyond. There are two floors of goodies in the main converted farmhouse building (complete with treasure-filled porch), plus two outside "Pish Posh" buildings, which hold lots of outdoor-use treasures, such as galvanized flower buckets. i ordered an armoire in june 2026(i have ordered 2 previously and did have any issues but the last…read moreorder took forever. i finally got a delivery date for today, july 16, 2026 between 8;30 and 12:30. i drove 7 hours just so i could be done with ballards. the delivery never happened. the deliver driver to call me, i did see a missed call and have tried to call back 8 or 10 times. i called the delivery co and the driverbtook a picture of vehicles in drive and a front door which anyone can walk by my home and do that. there is no picture showing them knocking on front door or ringing doorbell or knocking on door. i live in a small home and you know when someone is at your door. i can shop at pottery barn and have white glove delivery. dont shop at ballards the customer service is horrible. ive gone into the store and tried to pay cash. the store doesnt take cash. cash is a legal tender of the united states of america. i called customer service and they dont care. dont shop at ballards.
