Here is the letter I sent to corporate and received no response: I am writing to file an official complaint regarding my recent experience with the Ashley Furniture store in Brandon, FL. Please find below a summary of events, along with supporting email communications from the past 24 hours. Order Details: * Order Placed: August 24 * Original Delivery Date: August 27 On August 27, the technicians spent approximately two hours delivering part of my order. Unfortunately, the headboard arrived dirty, and we were advised that someone would be scheduled to clean the fabric. Additionally, the side tables and several parts of the bed frame were left behind. We were told that the drawers were broken and that a follow-up delivery would occur in a few days. Since then, I have received multiple delivery notifications (and subsequent cancellations) for the following dates: * September 1 * September 8 * September 9 On September 8, I visited the store and spoke with Robert, who assured me that the missing items were in the warehouse and would be delivered on September 9. However, on the morning of September 9, I received another cancellation notice. When I called the store, I was informed that Robert was out of the office. I then spoke with another manager who was unable to assist and repeatedly referred me back to Robert, who would only communicate via email. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Over the past two weeks, I have contacted customer service multiple times, only to receive inconsistent information and no meaningful resolution. At this point, I have requested a full refund and for the items to be picked up. I am now being told that a refund cannot be issued until the items are retrieved--leaving me feeling completely trapped in this transaction. This level of customer service is unacceptable. It has been a significant waste of time and energy, and I am deeply dissatisfied with how this matter has been handled. Horrible customer experience, Ashley has lost me and my family as customers. I purchased a sofa/chair/ottoman set a couple years ago. The chair was defectively put together by Ashley, but I didn't realize this until outside of the 1 year warranty window because I don't generally flip furniture over and inspect the feet if "professionally" installed. If you buy anything here that comes assembled for you recommend you diligently inspect how the tech put it together. Because it was defective one foot broke and a wood support beam also broke. I was aware they might turn me down for any assistance due to the 1 year warranty, but went into the store and was told a ticket was submitted and I should respond to the email with my pictures (I'll add I was upfront about the time period and they were able to look up the purchase date, so Ashley was well informed this was related to damage after the 1 year period). I sent my pictures depicting the shoddy work and missing piece on the one foot for my chair and the next day I was called (left a detailed voicemail) and emailed the following: "Upon further review of the photos we have received, our professional furniture technicians can bring this product back up to manufacturing standards, at no cost to you." Then I was instructed to select a date for the repair, which I did. The day of my repair no one shows up, so by the afternoon I call to inquire and I am told that because it is outside of the 1 year warranty they cannot do anything. This was not news as I told the store employee this when she submitted the ticket. I was also rushed off the phone with a vague promise the person who answered would look into it and email me. I got an email within minutes just repeating the same thing with no further explanation. I called the Brandon Ashley store and started explaining the situation to a rep, but the rep either muted me or walked away from the phone and I had to hang up. This is probably their tactic, if someone complains ignore and ice them out until they get too frustrated to do anything further and give up. I've never experienced such atrocious customer service. My recommendation to Ashley is don't tell people one thing then change up on them without any sort of respect or consideration. I intended to buy a second chair and footsool before we realized the defect, because my family genuinely likes it, but this has completely turned us off from purchasing anything ever again from Ashley. Hope this prevents people from purchasing defective items or dealing with Ashley's horrific customer service in the future. I'm attaching pictures of the email exchange and chair damage for reference. The chair/sofa/footstool set is called the "Maimz" Lovely set, but for the defective chair. Worst experience ever! I would give zero stars if I could. I will not do business with them again. I ordered bedroom furniture and tried to return it due to finding better prices elsewhere. The store would not take my call and directed me to the corporate office. I called the corporate office four separate times to cancel my order. Each time I was told the order was canceled and I would receive my refund within 3 to 4 business days. A truck with the bedroom furniture showed up at my house with the furniture I tried to return. I had to tell the truck driver to keep it on the truck and sent it back to the warehouse. I called the corporate office and still have not received a refund for the furniture that was sent back. Received a cryptic message from a "Casy" wanting to know if I had received my merchandise. She goes on to say, "ok, so give me a call back and hope to hear from you soon". Terrible customer service and total SCAMMERS. Took our furniture back and never refunded us. I bought $4000 in furniture from this store including a coffee table. After a few days I noticed holes in the coffee table with fresh wood dust around the holes. Turns out they were wood worms. So I called the store and they said in order to process a return we'd have to have a professional exterminator identify the bugs and write a report as the bugs may have been introduced in our home. So we called an exterminator who identified them--said these bugs stay in the wood for years before emerging and wrote a report that we submitted to Ashley Furniture. Ashley had a team come out and pick up the coffee table and said they'd issue a refund in 3 days. IT'S BEEN 3 MONTHS of back and forth with them--at one point they denied we had puchased ANYTHING from the store. So they not only took the furniture back, but have not issued a refund. We call customer service, they tell us to call the local Brandon store, no one picks up, or they re-direct us to customer service. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE and waste of time. We went to Ashley's looking for a couple of casual chairs to sit in our front room by the window. I knew I would know what I wanted as soon as I saw it. Then, there it was! I wanted color, a fun print and a size big enough to fill the space. So I ordered two of the chairs. maybe a little more than I wanted to spend, but they were exactly what I had in mind! Even Hubby liked them, which was a minor miracle since we seldom agree on such things. We went to check out (sorry I forgot the lady's name that waited on us, but she was very nice). They no longer treat the chairs for stains, which was a little disappointing. Of course she tried to sell us a warranty, which I always refuse to buy. The transaction was over so I paid, and she told us that our chairs would be here in two days. I must admit I was skeptical. I didn't believe that it would happen in two days, but lo and behold two days later our chairs arrived. I checked them all for tears or any kind of damage. They were perfect. The gentleman bringing the chairs in and setting them up were great, no issues at all! We put them in place where we wanted them and stood back and admired our new sitting area. Not 10 minutes late. My phone rang and it was someone from Ashley's asking if everything went OK with our delivery. I was very impressed with that. I call that Good service. Don't shop here! You won't get your furniture when they say you will. In my case it's been 3 weeks since the original delivery date and almost 6 weeks since the purchase date. The managers are never present. The store manager/GM has been on a longer holiday break than an elementary student. They have lied as to why the merchandise hasn't been delivered on time. We recently purchased the matching couch and love seat that paired with the patio table we bought 2 years ago. Once the furniture was delivered we realized how much the table and chairs had faded and turned the color green. We asked to return the furniture within 48 hours and was denied because it was not an online purchase. Knowing this new furniture would turn geeen in 2 years we contacted customer service asking them to please let us return it and could they replace our table. If I could give 0 stars I would. Extremely dissatisfied and so frustrated with their poor customer service. I ordered a bed frame from there via phone with one of their reps on November 13th. The only reason I ordered through them over the phone was to inquire about the delivery dates. I completed the order and it came in within 2 days instead of 5 weeks. I receive the bed and within 24 hours I call and ask to exchange the bed as the quality was horrible. The bed is not sturdy and wobbles with every move. I get told that someone will call or email me within 72 hours. A week goes by, NO RESPONSE. I go in person to one of the stores and a sales rep explains to me that the bed I purchased was one of their lesser quality items. I follow up with customer service in person and they apologize for the lack of outreach and tell me my claim was denied due to me purchasing in person. I explain I purchased over the phone and that the bed frame is not sturdy and is poor quality. They tell me they will update my ticket and contact within 48 hours. Again, NO RESPONSE. I call back the following week and customer service schedules a technician to come out and evaluate the bed. I explain the bed is not damaged but the quality is poor and we are dissatisfied with the craftsmanship. Almost every piece of furniture I own is Ashley and I have never had this experience. She explains this is a part of their process and he will come out to evaluate the bed. The gentleman comes over on a Tuesday, determines the same thing I've been saying from the beginning. The bed is wobbly and not sturdy. It has no damages or defects. He tells us he will recommend a new selection and we will hear from customer care again within 48 hours. Again, No RESPONSE. I email by Friday, no response! I call on Monday. Get told about the policy again for no returns on in person purchases. I explain for the 4th time I never purchased this bed in store. I was emailed a link to pay after calling in and I have never seen such a poor quality item from Ashley Furniture after spending THOUSANDS over the years here. She tells me they will contact me in 48hours. Today I finally get an email stating this: "Hello, This is Ashley Furniture, reaching out to advise you that as per our terms and conditions, Ashley Furniture does not allow returns or reselections once the items have been delivered and invoiced. Unfortunately your refund request has been denied at this time. If you have any questions please call us at 800-477-0097. Thanks for shopping Ashley Furniture! " This has been 30 days dealing with this bullshit and HOURS wasted due to complete lack of follow up from their team. I received no response after 2 weeks and then was sent to the store for approval of the return. I really have had nothing but a frustrating experience with Ashley's. We purchased a couch and a bedframe from them so we spent good money with them ($3000) the wood that came with the bedframe is basically sinking in and every-time my boyfriend and I would lay down it felt like we were sinking in to the middle. I called Ashley's twice to have them come out and fix it and both times no one ever came and when I spoke to someone after the two failed attempts they said it's because they were ordering the part.... But then why tell me someone was coming out on a specific date that I'm waiting around all day for a phone call and someone to come and then they never come. I've dealing with the same problem with this company and they only address things when you write a bad review about them. Frankly, I don't even think they care about their reputation. I have been expecting a refund for now 6 months. They had me send me driver's license and a confirmation email. YET NO REFUND. The warranty service, GARBAGE. When we first arrived we were speaking to a woman about a couch, however a customer she was previously dealing with came in. Subsequently we were ignored for the next hour. She finally found us help and he was wonderful. (He deserves 5 stars) After we buy the couch we wait for it to be delivered and during this time the price went down online at THEIR website. We asked to price match they would not. So we canceled and ordered the couch online. Low and behold the couch is delivered. I am very happy until I get a call about another couch delivery. See they didn't cancel the first and more expensive couch. I call the store and they say that cancelation is pending. So now I ask for the difference in price and they say no. We bought leather sectional from Ashley in 2018 also purchase protection plan it's so funny that after Ashley 1 year Warranty was up the leather started cracking and tearing from the seams we don't have children so there is no one jumping in or doing any ridiculous thing to the sectional. We contacted Ashley they direct us to the protection plan company send them pictures they are telling us they don't cover that when it clearly states in the plan cracking bubbling peeling lifting of veneers. My this is if you're not going to honor your contract stop selling protection plans, it's misleading. Purchased a dining room set ( turned out okay but chairs get loose often) the price could of been lower. Purchased a sectional sofa and working 3 month of lightly usage cushion was deformed and uncomfortable to sit on. I purchase extended warranty and neither the customer service one year warranty resolved the ongoing sectional issue and the extended warranty didn't cover due to the notice damages claimed after 30 days. I wouldn't recommend buying at Ashley's or if you do, don't bother with spending extra on warranty it's a ripe off with the service and they don't cover absolutely nothing. First of all, customer service is so terrible. When I was on the phone asking why your driver is not here. Their excuse was traffics and one customer ahead of me.But when I place the ordered online, I got a email with confirmation number, time and date for delivery. On the email I received at it said between 12:30-4:30 pm. The driver got here at 7:15. Second thing, the item got some crack. One of the piece crack so bad and the installation person knew about it. But still pack up and send them out to their customers. Once they collected the payment done, and who knows when they come out and exchange the items. Now I have to wait another week for them to come out, to see if can be fix or not. If not who know how long I have to wait to receive the whole set. I guess they don't care your business. I am not one to write nasty reviews BUT if I can save someone else the stress of dealing with these people then I will have done what I set out to do. My husband and I purchased a significant amount of furniture from them. ( it was not cheap ) when the salesman who is quite the talker . Brian Boswell , though we were not going to purchase the two end tables he started changing the dates to when they would arrive. We fell for it , the first date 2/6. Came and went! After trying to reach a person and get the service center. (I was 259 on hold) I was told new date was 2/15 . Ok not happy but .. needless to say no tables today. I have been calling numbers . My question was "Where was FULL DISCLOSURE a when I purchased the furniture " He then told me I could call China and ask why they let the Covid vaccine go two years ago and then after a few more exchanges he hung up on me. This is unacceptable behavior for a salesperson. He lied to get the sale ! Then it's like oh well . I then called the service center cause that's how you have to get a Live person. They tell me it takes two weeks to get my refund! Uh . Nope not acceptable! Did it take two weeks for them to get their payment up front ? TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They're great when you're purchasing your items but after that, you're on your own. I've purchased both a sectional and a couch here in the last month. I set up the dining table in my home and it doesn't work. That was my error and mistake. I expected a restocking fee for that but after about 20 calls they finally picked up the phone and will not take the item back AT ALL. The woman on the phone was EXTREMELY rude. Worst customer service I have experienced. - No one greeted me when I walked in the store. I was ignored. Had to find someone to buy a piece of furniture - After ordering, I realized there was a recliner version that matched the couch and chair I got. They didn't have it in the show room, so I didn't realize until after. I cancelled the chair and ordered the recliner instead. No biggie. - 24 business days later, I still have not received a refund for the chair. I was told 7-10 business days and then 10-15 business days today (24 business days in already) - None of the people have any idea what is going on. My couch was delayed because the person who cancelled the chair cancelled the entire order instead. The store lied and said that couch was just delayed because it was on backorder. No... the other departments already told on you. It wouldn't have been a big deal if I was told the truth. Mistakes happen. - I have been told I would be called 6 times now. I then called them back to see how everything was going to get it taken care of after being told I have a 5 year warranty on all my furniture. I was told that the issue is normal wear and tear. But I'm sorry we can get you numbers for someone to fix it out of pocket. Normal wear and tear is something that get a scratched or rubbed in the same spot that makes it wear and Tear. Not when paint or finish is just coming off of the furniture and it's the only one out of three in the same room. A little over a year ago I bought a recliner sofa at Ashley Furniture and they offered me insurance for 5 years and it cost me $285. Supposedly this insurance was against anything that happened to this sofa. A couple of months ago I discovered that the thread was coming undone on the sofa, I call to make the insurance effective and I am surprised that they do not answer for that kind of damage. I did not do enough online research before going there, I guess because of the nationally known name. READ REVIEWS before you make any purchases from Ashley. They sold us a twin bed and an extra long mattres, telling us king rails would work for this bed. Purchase was July 2nd. After FOUR delivery attempts they could not send the right bed rails to assemble the bed. Minor assembly problems on the queen bed set and dresser mirror broke out of casing first time I tried to clean mirror. I won't give you all the steps, how many hours I wasted on hold trying to reach them, but it took a formal complaint to the Better Business and until October 13th to get the items returned and the refund we were entitled to. Two Ashley employees who came to our home for the repeated delivery attempt and repairs said this is what Ashley does. The company tells customers "someone" will call them back and no one ever does. The worst place to buy furniture!! My husband & I were told everything we ordered was in stock& paid in cash. The day of delivery they didn't have everything we ordered. Told us they were out of stock The worst part of this is, we didn't have any furniture. We just bought a house. We have been sitting on lawn furniture & sleeping on air mattress for 2 weeks!! Our son received his entire bed set with mattress& all. That was the only order that was complete. Dining room, living room & master bedroom all incomplete. Stay away!!! Spent over $2,000 in the store on a sectional. The delivery guys ran the dolly into my wall causing damage. To top it all off after they left I noticed a large rip on the corner of the sectional. I call customer service and it was the worst experience ever! I called 6 days ago and they told me they had to schedule someone to come out and look at it to see if they can fix it but they couldn't schedule anyone for over 2 weeks. I asked to speak to a manager and was transferred, the manager said she would escalate it and have someone call me back. 6 days later I'm still waiting for the call back. I call customer service again and now I'm told I refused the tech to come out and inspect the damage. I never refused anything!!!! Now I'm being told it will be again almost a month before someone can come out to inspect the damage. This company is horrible and the customer service is even worse!!!! I will never spend another dime in this horrible store!!!! Still waiting on someone to come out and inspect the damage that their deliver drivers, meanwhile I have a $2,000+ sectional with a massive hole in it!!!! So frustrated!!! read more
