The waitress rearmed them but, for $36 you should get it right the first time. We were asked to leave by owner for complaining about the quality of our breakfast. We ordered two breakfasts w scrambled eggs, meat & toast. We received toast and meat first and then one plate of burned chopped up fried eggs. We tried to explain to owner that we would like what we ordered. He said we insulted his wife (who I guess is the breakfast cook). He refunded our money and asked us to leave. It was a weird experience. Considering most of their customers are tourists or visitors to Seward, I guess they aren't interested in providing food which would produce repeat customers. So Im pretty positive it was the manager or owner who was the one that "greeted" us. He was the rudest person i have ever met. He kept making rude comments and snarky remarks towards us because we had asked if they had breakfast in the afternoon. Was crowded with no distancing. My food came out and it was the last of that order available and a bunch of tourist wanted it so they were kidding the waitress that they would take it while putting their hands on the plate. To make it worse, the waitress gave by breakfast to another table and I had to stop her and say that was mine. Had I not already paid for it, I would have walked out of there then. With Seward being a hotspot for Covid right now there was zero precautions being done. On top of that, the eggs came scrambled, I ordered over easy and the food was nothing special. We had the delicious breakfast sandwich with white bread, sausage, cheese, and eggs! Highly recommend it! The cashier was very helpful and attentive. He made the experience great. You find your own table and they call out your order to bring it to you (which is cool). This was one of three restaurants we tried in town and this is the only one that didn't disappoint. Stopped by for a sandwich before hitting the road. Ordered the club. Omg let me say it could have fed 2 people easily. The sandwich had allot of romaine lettuce and plenty of turkey as well. It was a two handed 1/2 a sandwich. If the sandwich is not big enough it sat on a plate full of fries. I ended up with leftovers! I also bought a blueberry muffin and ate on the road. Stopped in on a Monday morning for breakfast and coffee and was not disappointed. My omelette with bacon, mushrooms and cheese was very tasty along with my potatoes O'Brien. I didn't get my toast; however, I really didn't need it as there was more than enough on the plate. Also had a regular glazed doughnut that was super fresh, light and sweet. Wish I had taken photos. the man at the front was extremely rude. Service was slow, poor. after a 45 minute wait ... Waitress brought out plates one at a time with enough time between for the other to have finished IF the food was edible. the pancakes oozed dough. Bacon burnt to the crisp. Ham was slightly burnt. The staff was super friendly and the food was very good! We got danish's on the way out and they were good as well. My husband and I have been staying just outside of Seward Alaska for over a week now and this is our go to breakfast spot. It is a great location, great food and a very friendly staff. These are very trying times for everyone and once we took a moment to listen and learn about the owner and his staff, we've had nothing but warm greetings and smiling eyes the second that we enter the cafe. I would highly recommend coming here to anyone and just remember that everyone is fighting their own battles that no one knows anything about. Just smile, be friendly, say "please," "thank you" and "have a nice day." In being friendly and compassionate you might just make their day and learn something along the way. read more

I received rude and very poor service at this location. I asked for one bagel toasted with butter and was told no it's too much work by whom I'm assuming is to be the owner. The reason is because the cook left to go get the kids or take kids to school. The restaurant was full with people seated and a line to the door. Either way, i was Confused, because a 3 year old can do that task successfully. So, instead of a toasted bagel, i got a cinnamon roll that he popped in the microwave. Do any of you see the difference in heating a cinnamon roll in the microwave or placing a bagel in a toaster to be heated? I don't. Both tasks involve you placing the item there, pressing start, and leaving it in the microwave or toaster to heat. Covid Danger Zone!! Multiple signs posted saying masks would be worn, windows open, social distancing observed. NOPE! No one in the kitchen (or customers) wearing masks, two feet distance for paying, windows all taped shut, and tables pushed together like the "good ol' days." Asked to see manager, and asked why the rules on the signs weren't being followed, and he said the rules were for customers only. Pointed out that the signs were clearly a plan for THEIR actions - "Disinfect bathroom regularly" is for customers to do? He turned his back on me and walked away. I wish I could review the food here, but instead, I had the worst customer service of my life and was told I wouldn't be served. When I arrived, the line was out the door, so I stood in line for about 10 minutes. No big deal. It's Seward in the summer; of course places are busy. I looked at the giant menu hanging from the ceiling and decided to order breakfast for my daughter and myself. When it was my turn, I asked the man at the counter for two items from the breakfast menu. He checked a clock and then informed me that since it was after 11:30, they stopped doing breakfast. It was 11:34. And I had been in line for 10 minutes. I was surprised and said that that wasn't indicated anywhere that I had seen. He pulls out the only copy of a menu I've seen besides the giant one hanging from the ceiling and points to where it does say that they stop serving breakfast at 11:30 on this menu. I looked up at the giant menu again to figure out what else to order, since he was still flipping pages on the hand-held menu, and he says to me, "You know what? I'm not dealing with this. I'm not serving you. Get out of my store." So, to sum up, I literally placed an order, expressed surprise that breakfast was no longer an option, and then was refused service. 0/10 Do not recommend. I used to really like this place but neither staff nor customers care about your health. Despite the signs, no social distancing or masks present. At the time of this writing, Covid-19 is in its second spike, with more cases than ever, and the Kenai Peninsula has the highest active cases per capita. My fried egg sandwich came out with greasy unmelted cheese slabbed on top, and my boyfriend's breakfast potatoes came out cold. Wow! There are a lot of mixed reviews here! We came at 10: am on a Monday morning on May 6th. So it wasn't busy. We had a yummy breakfast! Maybe the 2 1/2 mile walk first enhanced our appetites but we had no complaints at all. I just try to reserve 5 stars for the really great. We shared the Harbor breakfast, (2 over easy eggs, 4 pieces bacon, toast, cottage fries) and everything was done right and very good, even the potatoes and I don't usually like cottage potatoes. We also shared 2 pancakes. They were large and yummy. It filled up 2 people with good appetites and we couldn't eat it all. Well I didn't actually eat anything there. I'm not too much into the pastry and the reason I went in was because of the bakery on the sign. I wanted to buy a loaf of fresh baked bread. We landed at Seward late evening on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised to hear that there is a restaurant in town serving Indian buffet for lunch. There was daal, rice, aloo gobi, cabbage bhaji, mutton curry and fish curry (salmon) cooked Goa style with hot and fresh naans. All items on menu were cooked in traditional Indian style with less oil and spices and delicious & a great experience at this far north corner of the world. Owner was very hospitable and extended a warm welcome. Presently the Indian buffet is only on Friday, Saturday and Sundays and a must visit place for all who enjoy Indian food. read more
