As our sites have grown and developed over the past six years, we have been incredibly happy with the quality of product and level of service provided by the HeroWeb team. Between 2005 and 2011, our sites were built and managed by Dive In Designs, which used Mighty Merchant software and hosted sites with HeroWeb exclusively. When Dive In Designs owner Laura McClain decided to pursue other interests, we were slightly concerned that the sites absorbed into HeroWeb would not receive the same level of personalized service we had come to expect from Dive In. Thankfully, our fears were totally unjustified. HeroWeb is a local company, so we are fortunate to have the ability to conference face-to-face with Michael, Stacey and their team members. We have found their insights about building a positive and profitable online presence to be invaluable. We also appreciate their accommodation of special requests, and their email response times are amazingly fast. Additionally, their weekly Marketing Bites, webinars, blog and highly informative website help clients stay up-to-date with e-commerce trends.

On the recommendation of a friend I contacted Annie and she talked me through the process of setting up a Web site with 9 Planets, which led to a conversation about the kind of Web design she could offer, which led to me transferring everything from the former company to 9 Planets. So far I've been very happy with the switch-over; we've had a couple of hiccups, but she and Paul were on them promptly. Next up will be a redesign of my site. I haven't seen a full design yet, but the samples they have sent have been terrific.

Contracted with Limelight Department for a logo development as well as a website design and…read moreimplementation. Our experience with the sales process was quite positive, but when it came to implementation our experience was horrific. They have little or no skill to follow through on the work that was promised. Limelight Department refused to work on anything (specifically the website design and ebook integration) until the logo design was approved. The first cut of a logo took over 6 weeks and the work was entirely substandard - the logos lacked any creativity and looked entirely slapped together. While they thought there "was a winner in the group," we felt entirely differently. For the next round, they went to Shutterstock (a site with royalty free images to purchase) and downloaded other peoples' designs and tried to pass them off as their own. We told them that we knew they purchased these and did not "create" them, as the contract specified. We attempted a few more conversations with them over the logo and all were as painful as the first few rounds. We are days away from when the full scope of work - including a logo, website design with integration of a shopping cart and ebook technology - was to be completed and we have not a single thing that is usuable. We have told them we want all work stopped and that we have no intention of moving forward with them on the work - including the logo design. After we asked them to stop work, they quickly put together a 2 page PowerPoint document that they said was a style guide on the unapproved logo (we had understood through the sales process that the style guide was a 40+ page document). This movement forward on an unapproved logo and after we specifically asked them to cease any and all work simply to attempt to extort an additional $1,980 IS TOTALLY DISHONEST. Be very wary of this company. We regret that we ever got involved with them.

We battled in our own heads of hiring out someone to build our website, logo, video productions,…read moreand marketing or doing it ourselves and "learn as we go" so we can save money. Well we hired Limelight Department to build our website and e-commerce platform as well as internet marketing. We left it to ourselves to do picture graphics, video production, and logo design. Limelight was happy to do what we asked and also informed us they could take of the rest. They built exactly what we asked for. After a couple weeks worth of work hours we had our logo and went with it. In about two months we had our first video production, then second version, then third version of the same thing. This added up to many months worth of work just to save a buck and to be honest our efforts kinda sucked. We talked to Shaylor some time later and he had some great ideas for our website for improvement and also ran some other concepts by us for marketing which included new video, logo, and web design. This time we had Limelight produce the video, logo, and graphics and it took a fraction of the time it took me. Our sales grew and our branding was much better. The time I spent trying to save money not only cast me a lot of time but money as well in lost sales. I learned that for us it was better to pay for the services we received so we could grow our business further faster. Thanks Limelight.
