It had a lot of sentimental value to her as she spent many hours with her grandmother as a child. I was able to find another piece of granite to put on the legs but she never felt it was the same. I had kept the 2 pieces after they broke. I recently had an idea to have the original marble cut into 6 smaller 6" x 6" squares so she could put them under a lamp, flower pot or outside someplace. I am going to surprise her with them on her 75th birthday this month. I contacted Granite Solutions in Webster Florida. They were very pleasant and understanding on the phone and promised to get back to me soon. They did so in about a half hour. Although I was originally not going to have it 'finished' they explained the difference to me and how much better it would look so I agreed to have them do the extra steps. Originally I had said I wanted 4 pieces but after hanging up I re-measured it and realized I could get 6 pieces out of the broken stone. They had given me a price and when I explained I could get 2 more pieces out of it they said there would be no extra charge. I felt the price was very reasonable, they were pleasant to deal with and did what I had asked for quickly. I would strongly recommend this company and if I get my countertops replaced they will be my first call.

We had Duncan Stone put in a Quartz counter top on March 31st. it took two days because they made…read moreseveral mistakes. first they brought in the wrong pieces and trimmed one piece to short instead of bringing in the right piece that was already cut for this job. then when they tried to place the bar top piece of Quartz it was to long so I said it should be trimmed to fit properly. Larry said no he will make it fit. It took two of them pushing down from both sides with all their weight to force it in place which scraped the walls and cracked the ceiling. All they had to do was trim one edge slightly and it would have gone into place without forcing it.. So now we will be worrying as time goes on when will this crack. I called and talked to a older lady and she said don't worry if it cracks they will come out to put a new one in. All they had to do is not force it into a space that it would no go in hard. Very poor workmanship. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DUNCAN STONE FOR ANY COUNTER WORK. DON'T HIRE A SHOEMAKER TO DO COUNTER TOPS. REMEMBER NEVER PAY IN FULL...
