I received a gift card for Christmas for Massage Luxe Spa. It says it's for a 60 minute massage or…read morea luxe facial. I admittedly, put the card away and forgot about it. When I saw it, I thought, "this is probably expired." I searched for the locations, called the closest one to me, explained the situation, and the receptionist was lovely. I told her it was from 2 Christmases ago and I wasn't sure it was good. She took the number on the card, and confirmed that it was all set. I filled out the sent paperwork, and got excited for this "treat myself" moment. There aren't any of these spas near my house, so I drove to the closest one to me, a half hour away. Only for the receptionist to tell me that my gift card isn't good here. She was not apologetic, I explained that I had called and got confirmation that I was good to go. She said she called her manager, and wouldn't be able to pay the esthetician because the money would go to another store. (I've worked retail, I get it. I do) But wait! I'm in luck, instead of using my gift card, I can pay $80 because I've never been here before. I simply responded that I'm not going to do that. She looked at me incredulously. She asked if I was going to get my facial, I asked her, "Why would I do that? Why would I give you money when you've refused a gift card I got confirmation over the phone at 3:00 today to use." She then turned the gift card over and pointed to the letters and said, "See? It says Bloomfield Hills." Okay, so I should've read the small letters in the back. That's on me. But maybe whomever I spoke to on the phone should have asked if it said a location. I suddenly got nervous that they're going to charge my card I had to give them to place my appointment, so I asked, and she said she's not going to charge me. I guess we'll see, because they did make me sign a 6 hour cancellation contract. What a terrible experience. Zero customer care. A huge waste of my time and gas. I genuinely, sincerely hope that whomever owns this establishment reads this and knows that you've earned a detractor for life. As I was about to leave I said to the receptionist, "I don't live close to here. You really should make sure that whomever answers the phone knows to double check these things." She looked uncomfortable so I left. Mainly because I feel stupid but they definitely perpetuated that feeling. No thank you.

My choice to subscribe to the membership to get the additional coupons for additional services was well worth the cost. I understand some may have issues with big box services like this one. However my first interaction was with One in Arizona Sedona to be specific and it opened my eyes to how necessary massages were for the type in line of work I'm in and this has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.

This was the most wonderful and quite frankly the BEST massage I have ever had. I have had many but none have compared to the work by Melissa. She was gentle but with enough pressure to help with areas I have been experiencing difficulties. She was not rushed, her techniques were that of a very well experienced and professional massage therapist. I would without a doubt refer Melissa to anyone. She was so wonderful and I cannot wait to schedule with her again really soon. This location was also very clean, inviting and the waiting areas were very relaxing and soothing. The ladies in the front of house were just as wonderful, friendly and sweet. This is an excellent location to schedule a massage.

Pros - the lunch wasn't bad but there wasn't much to understand about that. My gentle massage was anything but and the facialist was listening to headphones which was anything but relaxing. The manicurist was late and kept complaining about literally everything. Parking was pay on the street which was another red flag and their color options for polish were also limited. For a spa day, there was no place to quietly sit and unwind, everything was in the mix of things and all in all, would not recommend again. Like the other reviews I found the pricing tactics to be slightly deceitful

All in all it was an uncomfortable experience for me as my first-ever Spa day. I had an 11AM appointment. First, the masseuse was on her way and going to arrive soon, then, 11:30. By 11:50 I decided to ask the receptionist about her tardiness. There was a lot of back and forth between the masseuse and receptionist. I didn't want to be massaged by someone so frantic sounding. I left. My services would have totaled 250$+ so I cannot imagine how they treat regulars and more expensive patrons. I would give it another try but it did not make me feel good. I know their usual clientele would find waiting that long unacceptable.

I have had multiple appointments changed because an esthetician was unavailable, and since the pandemic, evening appointments have become extremely difficult to get. I continued going because I had a regular esthetician I trusted. Unfortunately, my experience this past May was especially upsetting. The esthetician I was scheduled with arrived 30 minutes late, which resulted in a rushed eyebrow wax. I ended up with a waxing burn that removed skin above my eyebrow. After that, I simply decided I would no longer book with that esthetician and would return to my regular person. I made an appointment with my regular esthetician months ago for this Sunday and confirmed it. About an hour later, I received a call telling me she would not be working that day. I was offered another esthetician, but after my experience in May, I was not comfortable doing that. The timing was particularly frustrating because I am leaving for a trip this weekend, so I had to scramble to find another spa that could fit me in before I leave. After 13 years, I have decided I will no longer be using Spa Nordstrom. Nordstrom used to be synonymous with exceptional customer service, which is why I remained loyal for so long. Unfortunately, my recent experiences no longer reflect that reputation.
