I especially loved their technique for massaging the neck and glutes. I felt so refreshed and HEALED after my 60 minutes (not 50 minutes) session. I also loved that I was able to walk in to get a massage; some places require you to book an appointment 1 to 2 months in advance. SO convenient that I can get a massage as needed. I'm cancelling my 13 year membership at Massage Envy and planning to come back here whenever I need a great massage. Honestly, the quality of the massage I received was as good as the ones at high end places that charge twice as much. I wasn't too thrilled about how the place looks from the outside; I almost cancelled and drove back home. But after thinking about it, I'm glad to not be paying for "curb appeal" of the building, I'd rather be paying for a great massage while they keep their other costs down.

While the turnover rate at these places is fairly high, Phoenix has consistently maintained higher quality of masseuses. Today, I received the best massage yet from a masseuse I've never had before, Myrie. I called ahead to be sure they had an opening today and asked for a 90-minute massage. When I arrived, Myrie greeted me at the front desk and showed me to the room. Her massage style is very Asian but I could tell after a couple of minutes she really had mastered her work. I asked for harder pressure and she started with medium hard and worked her way into a harder pressure where needed. She worked my muscles both in isolation and in sets. Her efficient detailed technique allowed her to be effective within the time constraints. Bonus: my sinuses cleared when she worked on my face, hitting trigger points perfectly and I could again breathe. I highly recommend Myrie when you are healing from a sports injury or looking to get your muscles ready for that Yoga class.

Unfortunately I started my period the morning of the massage, and when I let Anicha know she became extremely concerned with my comfort levels. She allowed me to switch to a table massage instead of the originally planned Thai massage, and even consulted with him while I was changing to make sure I was okay keeping the appointment and wasn't just being polite. She was just really concerned that I would be uncomofortable and wouldn't get the most out of the massage. That actual massage was amazing! She used an excellent amount of pressure (I like really intense pressure) and basically worked through 2 years worth of postdocing-in-a-pandemic stress that has accumulated in my shoulders, lol. At the end, she wished me happy birthday and gave me a little trinket souvenir from Thailand. So sweet!
