If I could put 0 stars I would. Very long wait for customer service, very poor assistance when you finally reach a live person. The system will give violations every chance it can, which then costs fees to reset. My husband and I both share the car, so he has had violations for a donut because "it may have contained vanilla extract" violations also for no blowing even when car was shut off and no one was in it. I have had this interlock for about 7 years now. I am finally due to get it out this November and now today my device says lockout will start soon due to a violation. I always blow in it. I do nothing wrong. now I have to drive 2 hours to get this fixed when I literally just had it serviced. the guy said if you don't blow within 2 minutes its an automatic violation. well it's negative 20 degrees here in Minnesota and It would be nice to start the car for my son before school. I guess that isn't allowed. but the thing is it wasn't beeping as if I had left it sit for too long. Absolutely ridiculous company! Takes you forever to get a hold of anyone in cus service let alone anyone calling you back. we have a current billing issue on their end for a veh swap that was done. We paid the shop they have a contract with but the said shop never did their part with Lifesafer so now Lifesafer is trying to charge us for it. I have been fighting them on this for almost 3 months I have all my emails back and fourth along with all receipts and copies of our bank statements and copies of our payments on Lifesafers websit. LifeSafer is the actual worst. They're only too happy to sign you up to get an install and take your money, but if you actually NEED HELP, good luck. The chat service is either "unavailable" or never leaves the window asking you to, "wait while we transfer you to the next available agent." There IS NO next available agent! I moved from Minnesota to Colorado December 2024. The camera fell. I called and tried "chatting" for the 2 days after it fell and I didn't speak to a single person. Thankfully I was able to find an installer nearby my new home and they fixed it...until it fell down again. And again. The device is small and inauspicious but is very expensive. Cost about 300 to have it installed they charge a ridiculous fee of like 170 a month to have it on top of making you take it to a shop to have it calibrated every month. So you are looking at 200 a month, 300 ish to install and around 100 to remove. The device can go off over pizza, cologne, perfume, pre-workout (high caffeine) I guess. If something sets it off you can be looking at a fine for around 70 dollars. Also several checks, start the vehicle, 4 to 5 minutes later and randomly after that. Had a 35 minute trip and must have blown like 4 times. It feels like just another way for the government to drain the average working American for every penny they can get. read more

Its true what all the other reviews are saying. They cannot service the accounts they have. You are left on hold for WEEKS when you have not option. The chat channel is not an option because it is unavailable because it too has, "unusually high call volume", if that is you default message for weeks it is not true is it? You cannot say you have "abnormally high call volume" if that is the message you give out during all hours you are taking calls. Man it's my first week it says I have a violation but I have done nothing! I failed one test when I had a piece of fish fillet from McDonalds still in my mouth ! They give you random violations for no reason! Currently at a LifeSafer location to get my car unlocked so I can turn it on in Bellevue and no one is even here! There has been 3 other people come to this location and leave there is still another person here now waiting as well! I've called 7 different numbers all the same voicemail setup and no one calls you back or answers! I can't even leave the location I'm literally stuck and I just got this device ! The technicians at LifeSafer are great. However, the company does not comply with accurate reporting and record keeping. The results are punitive for the end user. The worst customer service at the main office in Wa. absolute trash customer service skills if you can get them to answer . On hold for 45 minutes every time we ever had to call which was at least every three weeks ,sent two emails and left callback number and zero response trying to get information on removal . Monthly charges that were never the same amount . Made sure they got their $ 150.00 fee to remove that device though .They are making tons of money on the "maintenance" which really is only a text every month telling you when your appmt to calibrate is - this is by far the worst of those companies . Also if the vehicle needs repairs it is total chaos to get the " code "to disable the device so that the repair shop can do what they need to do. The guys who install them are local and they are great but not Lifesafer. LifeSaver Ignition Interlock retains customers by providing a product and service that is more likely to keep folks out of legal compliance, than saving lives. That's the LifeSaver difference! This is a flawed and fraudulent business model. I've never paid for a service, month over month, as unreliable and problematic as a LifeSaver device. 1st Appointment: Install location - West Seattle, WA. December 2020. Technician showed up late. My LifeSaver device was installed incorrectly. My information was entered into their system incorrectly - this resulted in not being found in their system every time I called for assistance. My car had to be towed to a different shop less than 24 hours later because it would not start. I missed a day of work. 2nd Appointment: Install location - Bellevue, WA. I've developed a good, working relationship with this tech because of the frequency in which I've had problems with their product (monthly), and his responsiveness to address any issues. After "fixing" what he viewed as an obvious install mistake, my vehicle still would not regularly turn on. After providing a clean breath test, and being prompted to start car, I turned the key, and it killed my battery completely. The technical assistance provided from the 1-800 number was to disconnect and reconnect the battery. This is how I had to start my car for weeks. This is not a safe or reliable way to get around. 3rd Appointment: Bellevue, WA. Tech #2 completely uninstalled, and reinstalled device. The same issue persisted with less frequency, but has remained. After having been a customer for 16 months, there is no record of my device not working properly in LifeSaver records according to the gentleman in the Records Department (4.28.22). Additionally, the bracket holding the camera easily falls apart. The screw and locking bolt do not stay connected. The suction cup to the windshield easily falls off. When this happens (weekly), the driver is in violation / out of compliance. Upon uploading my 180 Day Report to reinstate my driving privileges, Tech #2 stated there is nothing keeping me from having the device removed from my vehicle. A LifeSaver representative on the phone (weeks later, on 4.27.28 ) stated that there was one incident that may keep me from driving without an interlock device. Less than 24 hours later, a different LifeSaver representative on the phone stated that I have dozens of violations over several months, and I would need their device until a 180 Day Compliance Report was successfully completed. I have 17 years experience working for an auto detailing and concierge service; 15 years working in the restaurant industry; 4 years working in healthcare - expanding Behavior Health Services, Intensive Outpatient Treatment, and Residential Treatment. LifeSaver as a company, is a barrier, not a resource. If I could do it all over, I would choose another company to work with. If you value your time, money, or livelihood, you should move forward with a company that does too. read more

Do not get this service. You will be over charged Everett 2 weeks for something they can think of. If the machine goes into sync you can forget about getting to work school or anywhere. Your car will not move. The 800 number doesn't work so you're literally stuck until a representative reads you a list of things to do. When that doesn't work they tell you to call back the next day. People at the shop are nice. LifeSafer the organization is HORRIBLE. Avoid when you can. First, I've never connected to a real human on the phone in less than 30 minutes. Every time I call, I dread it so much. And what's worse is that dropped calls are common and they DONT CALL YOU BACK. I now have to start the conversation with, "please take down my number and call me back if we experience a drop call" because they don't train their reps to do that. They claim they have your phone number, and still it's IMPOSSIBLE TO GET HELP. Second, they're so unaccommodating. They don't realize that people have lives and that their lives don't revolve around interlock servicing. I've been locked out a couple of times from my car (never due to failing a test but for mechanical, weather reasons) and they pretty much give you one option, which is to DROP YOUR LIFE, come to the shop, or else be subject to permanent lockdown. Sure, I get that there are state policies but LifeSafer is still a business at the end of the day. Maybe they don't prioritize business ethics because they're dealing with DUI convicts but it doesn't give them the excuse to give below mediocre customer service. This place may seem like it is nice at the beginning but when your service is about to be up they keep telling you you need to have it longer. My husband has had this device for a year and had no issues and was supposed to have it removed in March but was told he needed to have it for 6 more months because he missed a blow. This location double books so even if you are on time you won't get out of there in a reasonable amount of time because they will be helping two or three people at once. The company is horrible. They are not at all responsive. The customer service line is always busy. I've waited at 30 min every time and up to 3 hours most recently and still haven't been called back. My device has locked out 3 times now and I've had it for 2 weeks. Each lockout has been a malfunction of the device where I passed the breathalyzer but it made me repeat the test so many times it counted it as a violation and locked out the car. They do reset it for free when it malfunctions but they threaten to charge you over the phone. The man at the shop is much nicer than the people on the customer service line. Either way it's a huge waste of your time dealing with multiple lockouts when you haven't done anything wrong. I have called multiple times to complain. I have spent over 10 hours combined at the service center or on the phone trying to get help. The device malfunctions so often and repeatedly that I am trapped in my car for 10-20 minutes at a time each time it happens. You cannot get out of the car when it malfunctions or they will call it a violation. You just have to keep trying until it finally works. Sometimes it makes you wait 5 minutes between tries. Customer service agents and the installer location have zero contact. They quote below what they charge you every time. Each charge has been over what I was told it would be by $10-$30. When you ask for an explanation they just blame each other and say they have no idea how it works on the other side of the company. Their invoices never match what they actually charge you. When you call and ask them to explain they say they have no control over it. There is zero accountability and zero transparency. DO NOT GO HERE OR USE THIS COMPANY. Any other company is better. Most of the other companies actually have mobile services or they can give you lockout codes over the phone. This company can't even look at your data unless you make an appointment and come into the shop which is only open Tuesday-Saturday and hardly has any open appointments. Terrible customer service and device! It killed my battery every day which caused me to lose my job (because I had to beg for jumps from strangers every morning) and buy a new battery. But because my battery kept dying that triggered the device to flash for service or I would be locked out in a couple days. There are no locations in or near Seattle so I had to drive for at least 30 min to have it serviced during a weekday before 4pm. To make an appointment you have to call the call center on the east coast (so you have to call before 1pm) and wait on hold for almost an hour just to talk to someone who will then try to get you in - you can't call around to individual shops yourself. Also, I just went to the Everett shop and was told by a neighbor that no one has been working there for months. LifeSafer is a racket taking advantage of people who are forced to buy their products because of a DUI (for which I haven't even had a trial for)! I would consider other options. read more

Returned two weeks later for my appointment, and the place was closed. From the begining the only technition in all of San Diego knows nothing of customer service and I can only assume he believes knowledge there of to be completely I was an idiot or dirt bag unneccesary. He has a gruff demeaner to say the very least and spoke to me as if I was either an idot or a dirt bag, I'm not sure which. This Tony Sopranos minus the wardrobe and the height. Further, when my ignition lock froze, they let would not provide me with any useful information for three days.
