What is frustrating is that walk ins are called in from the hallway and sometimes taken in for blood work before us who have an appt! This happened to us today. Shouldn't appointments be caught up first before adding in walk ins? What exactly is the point of having an appt except you get to sit in a chair instead of standing in a lineup. I'm here now waiting in this incredibly long line up and I have an appointment. There's only 2 people at the desk. It seems like they're always short staffed or even if they have another person it's still incredibly slow. I remember amother time I had to wait half an hour just to drop off a specimen. They really need to make some changes to their system here, waiting in line for half an hour just to drop off a specimen and waiting even when you have an appointment is ridiculous. Staff is generally nice but the wait is too much.

I've been to so many LifeLabs, I've lost count. But BY FAR, this is the absolute best site, hands…read moredown. Here are the reasons: -efficiency. They are appointment-based only. No walk-ins. So you are assured a spot and a time, with minimal waiting. -large and bright office, and impeccably clean. -FREE WI-FI. (This is a real rarity at other lab sites). -more services are offered here than at many other LifeLab sites. Examples: EKG's, cardiac holder monitors, etc. -Professionalism of staff. A female checked me in (I didn't get her name) and although she was somewhat aloof, she was thorough and organized and I had zero wait time. My tech was Ian and he was phenomenal. I have had to get cardiac monitors and EKG's frequently and he was the most thorough when it came to instructions and, wow, they even provide you with a mesh "vest" over the monitor (I never got that before, and it made a huge difference in comfort level and stability). And even upon returning the following day, the staff here remembered me and the whole "disconnect and drop-off" experience was, dare I say, pleasant. My experiences at this site were unlike any I've had at other LifeLabs, and this will be the only site I go to from here on in, for sure.

I signed in at a mobile kiosk with my driver's license and insurance card. A few minutes later I was in the back with a friendly young phlebotomist. She was super patient with me (I have difficult veins) and I have to say she is one of the best I have dealt with in recent years. What could be easier? Nothing! Very clean, nice parking lot with lots of spots. Safe area. My new go to lab yay!

Clean, great service and short wait…read more.. Just annoyed that you can view your results online, but only if you obtain a lab visit number. I didn't know this at the time and when I called up they said I to go back to the location to get one. Why couldn't they give it to me when I was there?! Frustrating. Would have gave 5 stars... But actually getting the results are pretty important.

Easy park paid parking for $5 per hour is a bit expensive for Richmond but other than that it's one of the Life Labs that you can find appointments much easier than other locations.

I just had a multitude of blood work/urinalysis tests done a few weeks ago ordered by my…read morespecialist. My family doctor then wanted to give me a requisition for my every 3 month standing order blood work. On this family doctor requisition there were 2 tests that my specialist had not ordered, everything else had already been done through him. When I gave the requisition to the lady at the front desk at Life Labs I explained I already had all tests done a few weeks ago and only needed 2 tests that were new. She was not happy about this and said I had to have every single test done again because it was easier for her (she did not want to go over the previous tests and to see that she only needed to do 2 tests). I explained I could not do urinalysis work because I had not drank any water beforehand not expecting this and was not able to give a sample. She did not care and said I would have to book another appointment for that test (again which I already had done by my specialist ), so now this would be 3 times coming for the same test. I also have very small veins and do not appreciate having multiple tubes of blood taken when only one is necessary. She did not care and said to come another time and gave me my requisition back. I was so upset I phoned Life Labs contact number, and the customer service rep was very nice and explained that the techs have to follow exactly what is on the requisition. I could understand what she was saying, but at no time did the lab technician I was talking to say anything of this nature, just that it was easier for her to do everything all at once, I still would not be able to have done the urine test. The difference between the 2 people I spoke to was night and day, the tech just saying it was too much work to check what I had had done a few weeks ago to the customer service rep who explained things carefully (although I have had them do this before in same situation). The lab technician appeared rude to me, didn't care about my concerns with not being able to leave a sample, and would have to come back a third time. So now I will just forgo the missing tests and wait another 3-6 months when my specialist orders more blood work and coordinate it with this. What a waste of my time and energy. Plus the tech really appeared to not care at all about what I was saying. I gave one star because the customer service representative was very kind and understanding and explained their rules carefully.

An elevator and stairs, a couple different entrances/exits. The elevator doesn't go directly to the parking lot though. Lifelab have their own washroom but the rest of the patients have to go to the offices' front desks to ask for the key to the washroom that's located outside by the stairs (pharmacy). Quiet, clean, and a few chairs to seat while waiting.
