I received a call in early November for a "free heart scan" for my wife and I. I had heard about these electronic imaging heart scans, and I went to the appointment very optimistic that this was a legitimate business performing an important public service. We went on November 18 for our free scan, and both of us had to sit through a 90 minute presentation on why we needed a full body scan twice a year and why we should pay for it on the subscription basis (for several thousands of dollars). I felt like we just got sucked into a timeshare presentation. The imaging technician was very nice, courteous. He said "you should get the results in about a week" **Update** After leaving this review, I got a call from the company and I confirmed that they had sent a copy of the scan results to my email a week after the scan, on November 25 from an email address @lifesaversimaging.com with the subject line "MEDICAL RECORDS" and a word document report attachment. The email went directly to spam. Here's a tip for the business: 1) Send a confirmation email to the recipient immediately after the appointment and don't use an ALL CAPS subject line lke "MEDICAL RECORDS" 2) Use professional language in the email, with a least a sentence or two of content relevant to the recipient. 3) Don't attach a word document for the report, use a PDF instead. read more

They don't care anything about saving lives this is a scam to get money and they probably add things to your scan to scare you. Beware. Today I went to Life Savers Imagery for a health consult & heart scan (using a Groupon) but I ended up leaving in tears. I understood there would be additional services presented to me during the "consultation", and I was really excited to see what they had to offer. I had planned to pay for additional services & was certain I'd be pulling out my wallet, but when the PUSHY woman conducting the high pressure "sales pitch" kept flapping her rude mouth, she just KILLED THE SALE. (NOTE: it was NOT a consult, it was a high pressure sales pitch, similar to a timeshare sales presentation) She kept making pushy/condescending comments, tried to insult my intelligence, questioned my income & criticized my priorities. (She was trying to sell me a package running between $3000-4000, so I'd like more than 10 minutes and a sleazy sales pitch from a rude woman to make a decision.) When I showed signs that the sale wasn't going to happen, (because of her abrasive approach) she was visibly annoyed. She rolled her eyes, presented me a page to sign, and walked me to the lobby to wait for my scan. For what they offer, I don't think $3500 isn't much to invest, but her sales approach was a HORRIFYING experience. read more

LIARS! My husband and I got the offer for a free heart scan for married couples who fit various criteria. I read the reviews, and it looked like there was going to be a long hard sell for a paid body scan, but we both have had our dads die from heart attacks and we really wanted to do it. I saw that the optional CD was $25, and we both planned to pay for it. I got a babysitter for my kids, we showed up, I filled out the forms, and they told us that we can't have the scan! The confirmation letter said "To participate in this campaign you must meet the following criteria: *Weigh less than 300 pounds and be no taller than 6 feet 4 inches. *You and your spouse should not have had any CT scans within the past 3 months." among other things. My husband is 6'4" and 250 pounds. This woman looks at my him with a straight face and says she's so sorry, but the machine can only hold someone who is up to 6'2," even Hoag has this limitation, and then she makes TWO jokes about cutting his feet off. He was pretty disgusted. It's a minor point, but I'm certain Hoag doesn't just turn all the professional basketball and football players in the area away when they need scans. That's absurd. Meanwhile, the REAL problem appears to be that they will only do married couples together so they can use your fear of neglecting each other as a sales tool. They asked a new question on the forms when I got there, something about did you you recently have ANY kind of scan or plan to have one in the near future. Since I signed up for the scan, I scheduled a brain MRI, and I guess they decided that meant I would be too hard to scare into paying for a full body scan. I had some memory issues years ago when under intense stress, and I did the testing to make sure I didn't have a physical problem with my brain. It looked fine, but my neurologist said go ahead and do a follow up scan in a few years to make sure there are no changes. A MRI is NOT a CT scan, which is what they explicitly said was not OK have already done recently, and I haven't had it yet, either. There is nothing in the materials that says that you can't be "under the care of a doctor." And yet this woman comes out from the back and says sorry, we can't do the scan "because you're already under the care of the doctor." What an epic waste of time. It's clear that they're a lot more like used car salesmen than trustworthy medical professionals. They also had a question on the clipboard to the effect of "Were you told that you needed to bring your confirmation letter," and another that asked if you brought it. I'm sure that is used to turn people away who walk in looking to them like they will never buy the full body scan. There's also a weird requirement that you bring 2 forms of ID. I'm thinking that is used the same way. We're fairly affluent, middle-aged white people, but we're both growing our short hair out. Maybe our hair looked poor. I don't know. All I know is, they lied to my husband's face to get us out of there without a scene and we were actually extremely chill about it. read more

I was referred by a physician to come in and get a heart scan and a full body scan. I had a very pleasant experience with staff and overall service. Also, I was in and out of the center within 30 minutes, and my results were faxed to my doctor within a 24 hour turn around time. And, I was able to have my papers sent to me and I ended up reviewing them on my post doctor appointment. read more

I went in last week for my free heart scan after being contacted by a gentlemen on the phone. He was extremely helpful and explained the process well so that I knew what to expect at least time wise. I did sit through a presentation which I found interesting, I am an RN and love all things health related. I had no intention of purchasing a thing but by the end of the presentation I really wished I could afford the full body scan. Then the gentleman shared the pricing "discount" and without pressuring me at all, I decided to get the full body scan. I haven't received my results yet and really don't expect there will be anything of concern but love the peace of mind it will bring. Warning: This company violates the do-not-call law and uses high pressure sells techniques. Their telemarketers block their phone numbers to hide the company's identity. If you answer their call you are asked to give your name and told that they will have someone call you back to schedule an appointment (obviously a telemarketer). If you give a name, someone will call you back (my call back took a few days) and you will learn the name of the company that is violating the do-not-call law. Had an appointment to get a free scan. However after reading the reviews I decide it would be in my best interest to avoid the facility. I called the gentleman that runs the place and upon telling him I decided against the scan, he abruptly said fine and was about to quickly hang up. When I asked if he even wanted to know the reason why and I explained they were only rated one star on yelp. He said have you ever seen any good reviews on yelp? I said actually I have. He immediately hung up! So much for defending the poor reviews and giving me his side of the story? And when you do they still don't provide you with your results. Not to mention no one ever answers the phone number they list publicly, and if you leave a message they NEVER call back. Had a very positive experience my dr sent me for a heart scan . It only took about 20 minutes including paperwork actually scan only took 5 minutes. And my doctor had the report the next day , wow when does that happen. I was lucky no calcium buildup in my arteries peace of mind is everything.also the technologist was very professional and informative he told me about this documentary called the widow maker on amazon prime I watched it, it made feel even better that I had done the scan . read more

They have been calling me for a few years. Every time someone calls me they ask if I would like a free heart scan to detect calcium in my heart vessels. Yes, they they ask if I am married, again yes. That is where it ends because my husband refuses to come along (as he knows nothing is for free and hates time shares which is exactly what this feels like). They finally got me to come in for the scan- all I had to do was say I was single. But I told them I don't want to lie. They said they would take care of it and to just arrive at my appt time. I arrived. It was a nice office and a nice receptionist. A tall, large man (actually looked like a bouncer at a night club) kept peaking from around a doorway. I felt like I was at a Dianetics personality test center. I had to fill out paperwork. They wanted two forms of ID. I gave them my driver's license and my medical card. They asked if I had a credit card, I said, "no." You can use my medical card with a picture ID. Then the paperwork asked if I was married. And below, the disclaimer stated that I was responsible for $450 (the cost of the scan) if I was dishonest with any of the above information. Of course I told them that I am married and that I am not going to lie but they told me to come in anyway. The receptionist said that she would talk to the manager. She returned and said that she is sorry but I would be responsible for the payment of the scan. I said, "Thank you anyway." She said that she was sorry and that many people drive from far away only to find out this information and are very upset when they leave. So, my take is - nothing is for free. This is quite the marketing scam and in the future I will go through my insurance but will never use their company. read more

First off the building seems to be brand new and the staff is incredible ! Definitely the nicest imaging office I have been to. From what I've gathered they have a brand new staff and have revamped pricing to be extremely competitive! I have been to many other imaging offices that offer similar services that are much more expensive than Life Savers Imaging and they really are there to help save lives .. the technology of the EBT scanning machine is far superior to CT and others like it , some places say they offer similar scans but it is very rare to find a place with this brand new machine , even major hospitals have said they offer the same service but end up putting you in a high radiation CT scan which is much more invasive and toxic than the EBT technology . The information they give you prior to your scans is absolutely great and we appreciated the thoughtfulness and thoroughness of it all ! We ended up going with their 5 year wellness program which offers everything you would need to know you are healthy allowing you serious peace of mind .. everything from head to toe including a virtual colonoscopy which is so much easier than a normal one which is not fun at all ! The images we got are astounding and the clarity is unrivaled .. truly a great service that we highly recommend ! read more

The three individuals my wife and I dealt with were Jim Geyser, Willie Rios and Keith. Jim is an educated, well spoken and intelligent individual. Jim took his time to thoroughly explain the program, answer any and all questions. There was a transparency of the program and it's life saving benefits. Willie came in and opened his personal medical file. He shared his situation and how Life Savers Imaging caught medical problems that could have become critical. Keith is the EBT technician. He's skilled and knowledgeable. The whole scan was painless and effortless. I pushed to get the scan after a friend had a heart attack and survived. Another friend told of a heart attack and finding out he had 2 arteries that were abnormally smaller, restricting blood flow. Well, I'm not waiting until it's TOO LATE!! I'm 64 and want to catch anything ahead of my time, and YOU SHOULD TOO!! What I say now is "I'd rather be poor and alive, than rich and dead". They'll work out a payment program you can afford. I got a phone call from a telemarketer working for Life Savers Imagining offering my wife and I a free heart scan a few weeks ago. They said I needed to be qualified, and asked me all the questions before they offered the free scan for both my wife and I. I qualified, and they sent me a number, a verification letter, and an appointment date and time. They then sent me three or four reminders both email and text to bring the letter, and to be on time. When I got there, no one knew anything about it, and nothing was scheduled. It was like I had the wrong address or something. The staff was very rude telling my wife and I to take a seat and then offered nothing. They seemed to be bothered that we interrupted their morning and offered nothing. No apology. Nothing scheduled. Nothing. I later tried to contact them via email on their website. Wrote them twice and got no response. I have had a heart scan was really excited about my wife getting a free one like they offered over the phone. Again I was snubbed, this time from their website email contacts. Today I looked at the same company; Heart Savers on Barranca in Irvine CA, and saw what I was getting into. I am very surprised by the negative reviews. My wife and I actually had a great experience at this facility. We were contacted initially and went in to receive a heart scan, but since there were additional services offered to us, we decided to actually purchase one of their package deals. It ended up being a very informative and preventative step for us and for our health. The reports we got let us know what we need to do next and let us share the data with our own primary physician. The place actually made a difference in our lives and we ended up referring two other friends, who also made purchases when they went in. I was happy with the service. read more
