My experience with Wave Imaging, RadNet, and the entire organization they reside under was truly horrible, disappointing, disheartening, and unbelievable after I had an MRI completed there. I absolutely will not be returning to any of their centers for my imaging and testing needs. They proceeded to call and schedule an MRI of a completely different portion of my body four different times with four different schedulers over the course of 1.5 days. After clearly stating that there are no new orders from my provider and indicating that I just had an MRI at their center I had to explicitly ask them to stop calling. The issue that was causing them to call all of the times was because their back office miscatergorized and did not read the order correctly. Imagine receiving an MRI order from your provider for imaging of your head and their office read it, coded it, and were attempting to schedule an MRI for your foot. This is the level of unprofessionalism and incompetency I am trying to convey. Their timeline for delivery of the MRI report constantly evolved for the worse from 3 - 5, 5 - 7, to ultimately 10+ business days. This inconsistent communication has led me to stop going to their centers for my imaging needs. Their office suffers from an inherently broken business process. Never in my 30 years of having relatively complex medical issues have I had an experience with an imaging center. Again, I will not be returning to Wave Imaging, RadNet, or any of their centers for my future imaging needs. If I could leave zero stars here in this platform, I truly would. read more

Making an appointment was difficult because all of the representatives would take so much personal information down only to say that they need to verify prior authorization first. They never called me back to make an appointment leaving me waiting for days, and my insurance said they never called even though Radnet claims they "called twice." I had to call my insurance myself, and had them call Radnet to verify I didn't even need prior authorization so I could make my appointment (took minutes versus waiting days). They emphasize showing up early for the appointment which I did, only to be told to sit and wait. Their website states most test results will be sent to the ordering provider within 1-2 business days but every person makes up their own numbers about when results will be sent, I've been told 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 3-5, 3-6, 3-7, and "it depends on the radiologist and how much work they have." A lot of the information on their website/from their representatives is inaccurate, even down to reporting when results will be available on the patient portal. You ask 3 different people and get 3 wildly different answers. The hours on Yelp say they're open until 10pm, Google says 5pm, I even called and the person who answered said 5pm; I went in and all lights were off, doors are locked, and no one answers the phone by 4:35pm. This place seems like they are advertising false information to obtain more patients, collect money (they will bill the patient prior to insurance, and from what I've read in other reviews, will not reimburse you if you overpay unless you ask), and then have ambiguous result turn around times, and in turn, delay patient care. Highly disappointed in this place. read more

The technician was fantastic. The front desk lady was efficient but could have been a little more friendly and smiled. The place was clean. The care was great. They set me up in the MRI and I was very comfortable. The contrast was put in quickly. Everybody in the back like the technician and the assistant smiled and were kind and answered my questions. The actual health technician was great. The billing is terrible. They make you pay upfront at the imaging center before they will deliver any services (instead of consulting with insurance to get the correct amount and billing you after). This resulted in me being overcharged hundreds of dollars. It's been over a month, still no refund and no correspondence from WaveImaging. Then, the hold times are 25 min+ to talk to someone to clear it up. Very efficient at billing you. Very inefficient and slow paying you back. Not worth the stress. I'd go somewhere else in the future if you have the choice. read more

A few years ago during my annual check-up, my doctor says, "I felt a lump." Four words you never want to hear because you start fearing the worst. And of course I did. My doctor referred me to West Coast Breast Center for an ultrasound and a needle biopsy to determine whether or not my "lump" was malignant. Turns out it wasn't. A HUGE sigh of relief until a few months later I was back again to check another lump. Yippee. Again, another biopsy and good news. The staff at WCBC are really kind and friendly. Most of the staff are female so no need to worry about being sans clothes in front of male doctors if that isn't your preference. Their equipment is state-of-the-art. The office is easy to find. Just go to Hoag in Irvine and park near the pharmacy on the first floor. Hopefully, you never have to go here for more than a mammogram or an ultrasound. But if you do, then trust that you are in capable hands. **Oh, and whatever your mother told you about mammograms and the excruciating pain it causes; turns out, she was right.** read more

I scheduled an appt here a few months ago. Waited over a month to get in and when I showed up they told me they couldn't do the MRI that day and that I needed to reschedule. They had a very sorry not sorry attitude. Was very thankful for when I called the Laguna Wood office they were very accommodating. And way more helpful and kind! Now fast-forward to today. My husband had an appt received text yesterday reminding him of appt come to find out they canceled his appointment with out even contacting him and a supervisor will not call him back. This facility is the worst don't even bother scheduling here. My husband said his tech Tyson was super cool. Really chill with a great sense of humor, but very knowledgeable at the same time. Called me at the last min right before the appointment and told me that they need recent lab report before they can do the MRI for me even though my lab report is just off by a week. I have scheduled this MRI appointment long time ago and they did not mention it at all. I am in urgent need for the MRI inspection report for Dr. to review due to the concern about the cancer. My mother went here for a MRI. 10 days later she went to her specialist in Los Angeles (3 hour round trip). When she got there they did not have the results of the MRI. She called this office and spoke to the lady and was told that the report was not faxed because the fax number for the doctor was incorrect. Surprised, my mom proceeded to ask the lady why they did not call the doctor or call my mom to ask her for the correct fax number and the lady then replied that they do not do that. Basically telling her that if the number was wrong it is not their problem. Of course then as you can imagine, the long delay there meant that she had to wait an extra hour or so until the doctor could then squeeze her back in (as opposed to making another round trip to/from Orange County to Los Angeles). Now maybe the mistake was someone else's or maybe it was the lab's mistake, but I think we can all agree that blowing off (ignoring) sending the results is not the answer. But Wow, this must be one unique businesses with a business model that can afford to not rely on good service. They must rely so much on what business insurance companies/groups send them that they don't care. They're owned by RadNet, Inc., a Delaware Corporation, registered in 2008 which is a public company that owns a bunch of centers. They have 298 locations, more than 500 radiologists and approximately 7,100 employees - largest in the country. With regional networks in New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, California, and Florida. Just because it is a public company does not mean there are no real people that should care. I'M GIVING A FIVE STAR REVIEW ***ONLY*** FOR THE CT SCAN TECHNICIAN: PHIL SMITH, a Caucasian, VERY nice older gentleman with glasses. (I'm explaining what he looked like because I did not get his name while I was there and made the effort to call back to see who the technician was for my son's procedure) "Phil" was amazingly jolly and friendly from the get go. This procedure wasn't for me, so I waited in the waiting room, but when Phil came to get my son, I could immediately tell that he was they type to make you feel comfortable. My son was obviously a bit nervous and anxious for the procedure, but when he came out, he told me all about how nice the technician was. My son is not a talker, so for him to chat it up about Phil was impressive. He said Phil was making jokes and actually completed the scan in 20 min, where I was told it would take an hour. Five stars for Phil. ... and thank you! REGARDING THE FRONT OFFICE PERSONNEL: "ONE STAR" I didn't expect to read so many negative reviews about the front office personnel, but I have to admit, I agree with the reviews I read... When I came here a few days before to pick up the barium sulfate for my son, I felt this negativity and unfriendliness in the office from the front desk personnel, but just brushed it off, thinking I was imagining it, however...when we returned on the day of the procedure the very same feeling was again received. I was told that anyone can pick up the barium sulfate for my son, so since he was working, I went there a to get it for him a few days before his procedure. The office girl asks me for my son's ID. I'm like "What?" She says, "never mind" and tells me to "have a seat". After waiting ~15 min. she proceeds to give me instructions (with attitude), but is talking so fast that she tells me that the instructions are included in the bag. When we return the day of the procedure, there is attitude again when we check in. The girls act like they are bored or annoyed with their jobs and have no regard or show any personality or patience towards the patient. I realize that they must repeat the same instructions all day long, 5 days a week, but there is no reason to take it out on the patient. "Patients" are only here because they are usually sick and VERY LIKELY uneasy about the procedure, so have some compassion, please? I totally agree with "C.C's" 7/24/15 review where she says: "...I really don't like coming somewhere feeling un-welcomed when I'm already feeling uneasy about my medical issues. People do not often seek out medical attention when they are perfectly healthy..." I decided to give this review a THREE because it's an average of Phil's exceptional attitude and the unprofessionalism of the front desk staff. Made an appointment, took about 30-45 mins on the phone to schedule a DEXA scan for my son. They said they don't usually do that for kids (but he has a bone disorder), put me on hold and confirmed they can. I booked this way ahead and have waited a while. Show up, wait in the waiting room 15 mins., and then they tell me they don't do this on kids?!!! I drove 20 mins here to find out they don't do it. They even called me to confirm our appointment. I called in advance to make an appointment and scheduled an appointment for the same day. Pleasantly surprised to see they had relatively open availablility. The appointment booker wasn't the most friendly sounding over the phone, but I suppose if you have to book appointments all day - it could become a bit tedious. I'm not expecting a cheerleader or anything, but a bit of friendliness would be nice. ;-) A few hours before my appointment, something came up and I needed to move my appointment forward by an hour. But - surprise - no - all the individuals waiting didn't have an appointment. ADVICE: Even though they do accept walk-ins, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I ended up having to wait less than 5 minutes before I was seen. In and out in about 20 minutes. Woo hoo! Note: The place is a bit difficult to find, unless you've been to Hoag before. After getting stuck in traffic due to an accident and having trouble finding the place, I had the displeasure of being "serviced" by these people. First off, they would rather hold a conversation than attend to a patient. I don't expect a red carpet, but as someone who has never been here before I would have appreciated some direction. I had to get their attention to confirm what I had to do! At that point, why have a receptionist? Gossip on your own time. Secondly, the receptionist and someone who I assumed was a radiologist, were happily talking about the fact that I was late, and so another patient could be seen earlier. Gee thanks, very professional. So after waiting, they said because I was late, they could not see me due to a strict schedule, keep in mind they just let someone go early, and another patient who did not know she had a co-pay, was not going to be seen because they need an upfront payment. I was in the wrong for being late, but getting another appointment was going to take a another 10 days. I'm just going to urgent care if my symptoms act up again. I can see why this place is rated so low and why it was so empty when I got there. Stay away if you can! read more

I was there for my 75 yr mom's ABD ultrasound; who can't speak English. A receptionist was helpful & kind. But an ultrasound technician Meena weren't professional or nice at all. At the beginning, no greeting or introducing her name to us. (I got Meena's name from a receptionist after the exam was all done.) Meena told us what she was doing AFTER she actually did. ??? So, I couldn't explain to my mom before it really happened. For instance, she put get on mom's abdomen first, and she said that was a gel. During the exam, Meena asked my mom to breath in & hold in English. Before I explained to my mom,, she repeated ask to my mom to hold her breath again. Meena kept looking her ultrasound machine scrren and kept moving her ultrasound probe with her right hand,, not observing my mom at all. Then, Meena didn't tell my mom to ok breathing normally after a few seconds,,, so my mom told me that mom couldn't hold breath anymore. So, I told Meena. "My mom can't hold the breath that long" then, Meena said "It wasn't that long" Really???? It might not too long for u but it could not easy for 75 yr grandma to hold the breath who has heart problems ( I almost said that to Meena). Meena also ask to my mom "Turn on the side" I had to ask Meena "Turn on right or left? To window or door?" Meena looked at me & sight,,, and told us "Window". A whole experience wasn't pleasant at all. I hope we don't have to see her again even we still need to visit this office with mom's current insurance in the future. So, to start, I was extremely anxious and scared to get a CT done for my first time. As I checked in for my CT, the anxiety grew in me. But, thanks to Phil, he put me at ease. He was SO friendly and nice. He made me feel very comfortable with everything that was being done. He made sure I was okay throughout the whole process. I absolutely appreciate him for making this experience a great one. Hopefully, I won't have to go back, but if I do, I won't be so worried, because Phil showed me that it really wasn't so bad. I really don't like coming somewhere feeling un-welcomed when I'm already feeling uneasy about my medical issues. People do not often seek out medical attention when they are perfectly healthy, but my boyfriend sought help when he was unwell. We were prescribed to get some x-rays done and when we arrived at our appointment 2 minutes late, (after waiting several minutes for the secretary to become available) we were bluntly and rudely informed we were late. I apologized and asked the secretary/nurse how she was and she ignored me and shoved paperwork my way. After completing the paperwork and providing ID our documents were thrown back at us as we waited for over 30 minutes for a specialist to become available. After being informed I could not go in to help communicate to my boyfriend and ensure his comfort and safety, we quickly tried to leave as soon as possible. Moving forward, I will avoid this location to every extent possible. read more

I went to their office in Irvine 16300 sand canyon. After I put my stuff in the locker, "Kaylee" took me to their MRI room and started prepping my left hand for contrast injection. She started stabbing me brutally 6 times in my left hand and then apologized and said let me try your right arm. She stabbed me one more time and I told her Ive had enough and I want to go, this is when Ian came in and told me he can get the person who does their Ivy's to come and do it (he stated he's been doing it for 30 years) and then Fil smith who was their technologist came in and did it in one try in my left arm. In total I was stabbed brutally 8 times and at end the person who finally did the injection (Fil) stated that your Wayne is hard so I had to be tough with it. After MRI was done I asked Kaylee how long she's been doing this and that's when she told me: she's just a student and been doing this less than 5 months. I was never informed that I am a practice subject for a very very bad student who doesn't know what she is doing and has to stab someone 7 times with no results. I will be following up on this legally to make sure such companies don't commit such acts (having people to be test subjects to students) to people who have Government insurance and are considered low income. After I asked for the company info they kept on going in circles and ignoring my questions and concerns. I already left a voicemail for Laura foster who handles their quality and my attorney will be in contact with their legal team also. Do not go to this place, unless you want to be treated as a test subject who will be brutally injected. Avoid this place. They should be closed down for malpractices. read more

I walk in at 1:10 PM and the receptionist doesn't move and says nothing. I am on crutches and in pain, and after saying "hi" she says nothing, keeps looking at the fax machine, and a minute later, she says, "Yes?" I said, "I have an appointment at 1:30 PM". She hastily gives me instructions and says "that'll be $20 co pay". As cold and friendly as a crab. Too bad, they're located inside the new gorgeous Hoag Hospital complex. The employee lunch room is within earshot of the waiting room. I needed to get an X-Ray as a pre-operating procedure for my Arthroscopic Surgery. I chose them because they accepted my health plan, could accommodate me the same day I called for an appointment, and located in nice area I know well. From several employees walking into their lunch room, customers in the waiting room heard it was a female employee's birthday. The door opens and closes, and we in the waiting room hear "ha ha ha" "ho ho ho" "he he he" and a few snorts, assuming buff naked dudes on birthday cards and silly gifts were opened. The X-ray technician wasn't particular friendly or cold. But she was fast, professional, and recommended that I ask for a copy of the x ray to take with me to my Orthopedic doc, but I should notify the front desk. A second front desk operator was there and I told her I needed a copy of my x ray. She just came from the birthday party. She said, "OK, I'll have it ready in 20 minutes". So here I am on crutches needing to kill 20 minutes. So I make a long trek to the building cafeteria, make some phone calls, and check my emails. I got back into the waiting room after about 20 minutes. Seated near me, a woman patient asks the receptionist if the faxed report she needed had come in. The receptionist did not get up but just eye balled the fax machine. "No. please wait a few minutes and it'll show up". Another employee comes to the fax machine and says, "Whose report is this on the bottom of the stack?" Turn out it was the waiting woman's fax. She screamed, "You mean after waiting 20 minutes, it was here all along?" The two front desk people went, "uh, um, uh"...and did not apologize. The woman stormed off, and the two front desk people giggled about it. Then I blurt out "Is my X ray ready"? No. it wasn't. Turns out she forgot to order it and my 20 minutes was a waste as well. 10 minutes later, my x ray report comes out. They hand it to me like a bomb. Then she says, "Is it stuffy in here, or is it just me?" Stuff it, I ain't going back into this place unless they learn good customer service skills. Crabby front desk people in medical offices are a turn off. By the way, the appointment desk operator was fairly nice. read more

The worst. I call ahead about wait times and tell them I'm coming with three kids. I get there, and after 15 minutes, as we're about to go in, they remember they have a rule that kids under 12 can't be in waiting room. But I must go in with my 8 year old. So I ask if the receptionist can keep an eye on them, in a dead empty waiting room (for what later turned out to be a 7 SECOND procedure.) But that's also against the rules. I ask if the 8 year old can just go on her own, but that's against the rules. They're just like, we can't help you. But I took my daughter out of school for this. And they knew that. So luckily my pediatrician is in same building, I call them, and tell these people I will run my children upstairs. I come back and now the tech is going to lunch. I couldn't make this up. And they say "Well at least you're the first patient". Duh. The place is EMPTY. I mean they JUST had me run my two children upstairs to a doctor's waiting room. It felt surreal. But, the tech decided to stay and do the procedure. Which was amazing. But they coded a wrong body part. And their system has crashed and so we all wait for that to get sorted out. And then it turns out I can't go in with my child anyway, because I'm possibly pregnant. So another employee takes her anyway. While I wait alone in the waiting room. For 7 seconds. And from the waiting room you can see the X-ray room, and it remained open. So really, if I stood in a certain spot I could have watched both my kids in the waiting room and the procedure getting done. Weird. And then they tell me I'll get results in TWO BUSINESS days. For a possible fracture. For an 8 year old. When I google mapped this place, I noticed it had bad reviews. But I thought you can't really mess up a radiology place. Well they're there to prove that yes, absolutely you can. So if any of that sounds like your cup of tea, go ahead and give it a whirl. But, you're probably better off taping your possibly broken arm to a cardbord and walking it off to ANYWHERE else. I feel like they have some super nice people working there, but their management is terrible. read more

After the 10 th time that they've gotten all my info as person in charge of handling my mom's issues, had to get transferred to a SUPERVISOR because the girl in the front said I couldn't request medical records on my mothers behalf after she had me on hold for 20 min. After 20 min Patty gets on, admits there is s number for someone there but no name and oddly enough, even though the number matched mine, she needs my mom to call in herself. It amazes me a business as poorly run as this one can stay in business. Medical industry is like a monopoly---as long as ins company keeps assigning you to this company, they will keep having customers, regardless how bad they are, that's scary considering they have to help us manage our health! This is a second visit / review, which is on top of last time's bad experience: 1) took 2 hours, 4 different calls to finally schedule an appt for ultrasound my leg. It puzzles me why it takes 2 hours to merely schedule an appt! 2) on the day of appt (2pm), they called at 11:40am asking if I can come in at 12:45pm instead of 2pm, I told them no I have lunch plans already. Then they said they have to cancel my appt and reschedule me, the appt that I spent 2 hours to schedule before! I told them no thank u, I will go somewhere else. 3) the reason they gave for having to reschedule is due to their ultrasound machine not working properly and 12:45pm appt is the last one they will take before they make repairs. So now to think back, why would u still perform tests when u know ur machine is not functioning properly???? This business is ridiculous and one of the most disorganized place I have ever seen. They tell you to arrive 20 min before your appt & make you wait 45 min - & this is the first appt of the day. I requested medical records & had to make 3 separate trips until they got it right. I'm changing my review to 4 stars only because of the quality of the MRI - my doctor accused me of moving during the test! He put me on an anti-anxiety Rx for the MRI because I'm claustrophobic. I slept for hours after I got home and know I didn't move unless they told me to breath. I've been having MRI, CT and X-rays often since 2000 so I know not to move (or breathe) unless told to. I mean come on, who is going to drink all that fabulous tasting contrast and the ruin the test my moving?!? Other than that, I stand by my review. They even got an IV in quickly and I'm an extremely hard stick. read more

I don't see the bill on my insurance website and according to them, they have sent me 4 bills by mail that I have not seen - I'm the only one who gets the mail out of our box. Talked live to a person that had no real concerns about the issue which really didn't make any difference anyway as she didn't understand what she was looking at on her monitor. I have paid almost $4K in medical bills through my HSA and out of my pocket this year so how is it this one was passed on by? No reaching out, no phone call just screw with my credit report. The techs made a racist comment about a patient. Tech 1: who makes an appt at x time for y? Oh first name is Harimi... you know what that means? Tech 2: *silence Tech 1 then literally says the word "gasp." Surprisingly tech 1 seemed to be the nicer one while tech 2 continuously looked angry. My appointment was at 2pm and I arrived at 2:09pm due to heavy stop and go traffic. I left ahead of schedule but did not expect to run into the traffic that I did. When checking in the girl at the front desk with dark hair mid 20's, mousey sounding voice and glasses was very rude and argumentative with me and said that I would have to re-schedule my appointment and was extremely rude to me. I explained to her that I live an hour away and that I ran into traffic and she said oh well. If she treats all of their patients like this, this place is going to be hurting very soon. Very POOR customer service and poor attitude. I believe its time for their office mgmt o do a little firing or attitude adjustment. Go elsewhere you will get better customer service. read more

Having a first MRI done can be a little stressful if you're even remotely claustrophobic. Ryan, the technician who did mine today, did everything possible to make sure mine went off well! Exceptionally friendly, very patient, and happy to answer all my questions before I went "into the tube", it was all a piece of cake. Despite the anticipated loud pounding in the tube, equipment noises and a range of sounds between off-key bagpipes and Metallica chords as the machine did its job, it was comfortable and a/c breezy inside and I had NO sense of claustrophobia at all. The "tube" being open at both ends was a big help, so I could look through above my head and see the ceiling in the room. 15 minutes went by very quickly. Highly recommended if your doctor indicates you need to have an MRI done. UPDATE 10/11/2022: I now understand why all the truly awful reviews from a company whose corporate staff apparently never bother to take corrective action to correct company failures and prevent bad reviews. FOUR days ago I emailed a request for an imaging procedure. I have been texting with an employee who said she did receive it. NO response or contact after that from them. Any physician requesting a procedure for a patient should be told they must read these reviews first and refer a reliable company since, ultimately, YOU, the consumer are paying for that doctor's service and any company they refer you to. read more

Thyroid Ultrasound The imaging center for ultrasounds is in the large Hoag Building, 2nd floor. The office is clean with large fancy chairs and a TV in the corner. My appointment was at 6 pm on Thursday and I arrived 25 minutes early. It was not crowded probably because people are getting out of work that time. Have your order form, driver's license, and medical insurance card ready to give to the receptionist. You will have some quick paperwork to fill out. I got in right on time and my ultrasound technician, Anna, was very nice. Anna asked me some questions about my thyroid and took the ultrasound images for around 15-20 minutes. As a person who has several medical conditions and has experienced poor medical services (I'm looking at you, Garden Grove Hospital), I was quite nervous going here due to the bad reviews. To my surprise, they were on time, receptionist and technician were nice, and there were no problems processing my order. read more
