My 2008 Yamaha Zuma had a flat and they came to pick up the bike, changed out the tires, did routine maintenance and returned the bike to me in one day. They were courteous and professional and the bill was extremely reasonable given the amount of time and materials it took to repair it. So I give 5 stars even though I feel that a bit of improvement in some areas would be nice. 5 stars because the SSR brand is affordable and they repair the bikes they sell. 5 star for the salesmanship and the owners attitude. 5 star because they help with financing and work with a great credit union ( Honor Credit union). However, it took an extended amount of time then it should have to get my purchase and financing... Mainly due to the fact that the financing department is under the impression that you must be a licensed individual to get any title in Michigan... Even an ORV paid in full. I tried informing Deb the inaccuracy/misunderstanding in that.. but it is still a situation there. So I hope thos gets looked into further and find out why this is happening... NoN Street legal is different from motorcycle/moped/car ... ORV does not require drivers license for registration or title. So Im guessing perhaps 1 employee at SOS Misunderstood the vehicle type and was denying me service unlawfully... But no biggie. I still like Deb and everyone... And putting orv in another name is no problem for me. I love the bikes and will see you all again soon. read more

I've only been here a few times to get tubes put in mini bike tires. I went in today to pick up a tire and "Deb" came out and loudly said "Do we have a name? Do we have a name?" Then she told me "I just tried to call you." She was clearly upset. I had no missed calls on my phone and I had left my name and correct number with the Parts Counter person when I dropped off the tire. I will never deal with Life Cycle again. I know I'm slim pickings as far as their concerned but people like me are their bread and butter and I didn't deserve to be treated like that today. read more

Saturday 07/11 What a great day to ride in Michigan! Our ride took us into Kalamazoo where we stopped at the Life Cycle dealership. A fine selection of Ducati and Triumphs fairly priced, many with bonus bucks to spend on rider gear! The one bonus was the Zero electric motorcycles. Quite an interesting engineering feat. Test rides were available. The most outstanding attribute of Life Cycle were the folks that work there. Friendly, informative and made us feel at home. My wife and I had a horrible experience at two other places this week and found this place on accident. BOY ARE WE GLAD WE DID! We bought a few helmets and communicator systems for our bike and had no idea how to set them up. The parts guys here hooked up everything for us and synced them the next day too when we still couldn't figure stuff out. The owner invited us to come out for weekly rides with a local bunch and they were so friendly it was amazing. I typically never leave a one star and am hesitant to read some in this app. So I'm justifying my review with my horrible experience with this place. I brought my bike to this shop 5 months ago. I paid them cash in full the day I brought my bike in based on a quote/work order provided to me. I was told they were confident they could fix my Yamaha bike. Two days ago I called and they did not have it done. I was told one of their employees had been laid off for 3 months. I never received a phone call about my bike unless I reached out to follow up. Today upon seeing the bike it was in shambles, worse condition than when I initially brought it in. When I stated I wanted my bike back they didn't issue me a refund and tried to charge me an additional $400 to the amount I had already paid which I refused because it was not what we agreed upon. (He then tried to sneak the total into the final paperwork and after I confronted him about it, he took it off.) Not once did I get a phone call about the "extra" work they claimed they did. They also tried to ask me to sign a waiver saying I was okay with taking the bike "as is", which of course I did not sign. Dave the owner was of no help and is unprofessional. 5 Months they had my bike during the winter and it was not completed. I was only okay with this because I could not use the the bike during this time anyway. He told me they were not Yamaha certified as I was trying to get my bike back. I've never had service this bad in my life. Avoid at all costs period and especially if you own a Yamaha. read more

This shop is a total scam with incompetent mechanics. I brought my 1982 Yamaha to Life Cycle in the early spring of 2017 due to the rear cylinder back firing during acceleration. I informed them that the bike would run normally (at reduced power) if one of either the front or rear cylinder spark leads was disconnected, and that the stator was also putting out the correct amount of voltage. Now I'm not a motorcycle mechanic and I figured that this was an issue that would be simpler to be diagnosed by a paid professional and that was why I brought my bike to Life Cycle in Portage. I was required to pay $50.00 at the time that dropped the bike off to their shop to cover the diagnosing fee, which I didn't find too unreasonable but it was odd to pay in advance. After they had the vehicle a week I called to check in on their progress. They told me that they were not even able to get the bike to start and that they had many hours into trying to get it to start. This is funny considering that I drove the bike to their shop, and also HOME from their shop. So I went to the shop and jumped the bike which now had a dead battery with my car and it started immediately. What took them "many hours" I did in five minutes. Once running I tried to have them come look at the bike while it was running because I was concerned that they might not be able to get it running again for God knows what reason. Unfortunately they were too busy trying to fix an ABS system they broke during a normal tire change to help me work on the bike I had already paid them to look at. After 6 hours of waiting I decided that Life Cycle is not a reputable shop so I went to collect my keys at which point the owner informed me that I had a bill for the additional hours they spent jerking each other off trying to start the bike. I recommend going to any other shop over Life Cycle. They will take advantage of you! read more

My boyfriend bought a triumph from here. The owner said he was willing to negotiate the price, but when it came time to sign the paperwork to hold the bike, he sneakily wrote down his own price without even a second for us to offer what we were willing to pay for it. Then, when trying to start the bike in the shop it would not start. He said the battery probably just needed a charge. We were able to ride the bike home, but the bike would not start any more than that one time to ride it home. We personally took the battery out, charged it up, and it tested weak. The owner knew the battery was done for, and did not reflect that in the price of the bike, nor did he make this right by replacing the battery after the fact. If you know there is a defect, that needs to be disclosed. Now we have to purchase a new battery ($60). Will definitely not be bringing the bike here for service nor will we recommend this place to our friends. read more
