I think they offer one on one training as well and have a smaller weight room in the back of the facility. After neglecting my new years resolution to eat better and work out more, I challenged myself to do G-Force's classes using their current Groupon. I started going to their Body Flow class. The session I've been attending is an abbreviated lunch-time workout class that is a hybrid of Thai Chi and Yoga. It's not the most strenuous class, but it's a nice break up my day. It offers stretching and some core work. They offer other classes that are more intense, like Body Pump and combat. They even have a flying yoga class that uses silk ariels to twist up in. This is the first gym where I learned about "branded" workout programs. I mean, I knew that stuff like Zumba was a workout brand, but I guess I didn't realize that a gym could have all one brand for all their classes. This is a Less Mills gym and they use all of those programs in their class. The classes seem to emphasise workouts to music and have a heavy choreography component to it - like the moves are all timed to music, almost perfectly. Once you catch the beat, it's fun to the move to the music. Keep in mind that they don't offer showers for everyone. They have one bathroom with one shower stall but given that the shower is in the same room as the toilet, I feel bad tieing up the bathroom to shower after class, since others may need to go to the bathroom.

Tiffany texted me as soon as I filled in an online request and said I come in at 7am. There were only 4 of us in the class and I loved the workout! It's a small gym that is setup with weights, TRX, medicine balls, etc. She put together an awesome workout for us that took about 50 or so minutes and involved some equipment and timing us on each set of exercises we did. We ended up doing 4 stations, and 3 sets of each. Tiffany was super nice as was everyone else in the class. I would highly recommend checking this place out!

Work outs are different every day, you can never get into a boring rut here. Not only are the trainers great, it's the people that work out there that truly make it fun! Everyone that participates is supportive, uplifting and you feel the team spirit and comradery. We help each other and cheer each other on! High 5's and good job for everyone at the end of class. FLEXCity specializes in interval-based fitness training, incorporating strength training, cardio, and flexibility into each class. Every class is different, but in the class I went to, we did spinning, running on a treadmill, floor-based strength exercises and TRX. You are constantly moving and rotating to different exercises - you never do any one exercise for more than about 3-5 minutes. The instructor, Cora, was awesome at keeping everyone on track and focused on each activity. She was really helpful and even showed me around the machines before class so I knew what to expect. Overall, I had way more fun than I was expecting but I was definitely incredibly sore for several days after! It's a unique and fun way to get in a workout! Note, the Grand Rapids location has a large parking lot in back but they like you to use the front entrance. Get there 10 minutes before your first class so the instructor can show you around and don't forget a towel... you're gonna sweat.

Overall great gym because the price is awesome, $200 annually. Only knocking a star off because I guess the communication aspect and equipment could be better. Love the gym though. Not switching anytime soon.
