Shopping at Windsor today, 5 pm on a Saturday and experienced the worst customer service ever…read more There was a very long wait for the fitting rooms, we waited for twenty minutes and were halfway to fitting rooms when their employee started scolding the entire store like we were misbehaving children- she yelled for everyone to hear, stating we all lost privileges to the fitting rooms because people aren't picking up after themselves so fitting rooms were closed. Many people mentioned how long they've been waiting as well as the fact people were polite in line and again were told we all lost our privileges to a fitting room and if we don't like it we can leave- exactly what was done not only losing a lot of business today but future sales as well. Looking at Google reviews this is a huge trend of this store so I question if it's policy and acceptable since it is a long standing complaint but its terrible business. There are too many options of where to spend our hard earned money to do so at a place that treats customers so terrible- fitting rooms aren't a privilege, it's a must prior to people handing over their hard earned money for your merchandise. I will never return or reccomend abd hoping to save someone the frustration we went through wasting our time in this store today.

(Eco-Friendly, Hand-Made, Small Biz, Woman Owned... etc) It got me inspired. With Mother's Day a whopping THREE weeks away-- I figured I'd both support my local woman-owned small biz and get a gift or two to make a mom in my life feel seen, loved and appreciated. This review is for an online shopping experience at Revival. Their site is easy to use. I love the tabs...from new to sale items. Gifts for under $25 tab, too. They've got a little bit of something for everyone-- but compared to the store, selection is a bit limited. With the lovely lady in my life being 70+ and growing more fearful by the day of this pandemic-- I opted for the Cold & Flu Blend of essential oils. Practical, yet thoughtful. (Annnnnd... I may have gotten something for myself. HEY. I'm a mom, too! Revival has a WONDERFUL Free People selection.) I made my two purchases... got to the dreaded shipping options... and saw all local deliveries are free! I got my package a mere TEN HOURS after ordering it. (Even with a text informing me it had been left on my step.) Support local. Support small. Support women-owned. Support retail during this crazy time. Oh, and don't forget to spoil your momma. Shop Revival!

I'm a big fan of Revival and have been going to this store since I was in college and every time I…read morevisit Iowa City I stop by. I would describe Revival as a Vintage Boutique that buys and resells thrifted and new items + home goods (candles, room sprays, incense) It's been about five years since my return and oh how things have changed! I'll start with the positive first: they now sell sex toys and lube (Maude brand) which is super cool. The candles they sell are so unique and well crafted. What a creative idea to use old fish tins for the base! The not so good: in summary everything's extremely overpriced. Revival use to be more of a thrift store (and yes they still buy and resell thrifted items) but now a large selection of their items are new and well over $100. Mind you this is not a luxury store. Now, I will say Revival has always carried new items and more "high quality pieces" however, today I saw a "preloved" coach bag for $300+ which was insane to me. The selection of clothing is more neutral and basic tones like cream, nude, brown and white. I miss the color and variety that use to be! Today I purchased some groovy sunglasses, vintage Levi Jeans, and some other new goodies. I still love this place and will check it out again the next time I'm in town!

Now the good stuff - The owners who are sisters are super cool and explained to me their vision for their new thrift/ vintage eclectic store, which is a highly curated jack of all trades and master of ALL, at the same time!! This is a much needed store that competes with Artifacts, the second act, and every other thrift store, but has its own unique vibe that is different from all of the others in Iowa City. When you think of small business, this is it. I highly recommend giving them a look because if you're a little bored from the Iowa City thrift scene, there's a new show in town and the matinee is worth the price! Sellers also know they consign. They're still structuring their business model. So a great place to check out on the regular for now. Great time to experiment as a buyer and / or seller.

Loyal clients. High quality women's apparel and shoes. A GORGEOUS, light and bright store. And friendly, kind service. To be honest, the high price tag most of their items have is a bit out of my budget. And with over half a dozen other women's boutiques in the area, I'd probably choose to shop at any of them. BUT I appreciate what this women-owned shop brings to Iowa City. Upscale goods not offered elsewhere in the area and a pleasant shopping experience. This is one of two locations in the state of Iowa (the other is in DSM.) If you're in need of women's apparel that is unique to the area and don't mind spending a bit more for it-- come shop local at Velvet Coat. It's approachable and fashionable! And probably is cheaper than a psychiatrist.
