Wow. This store is a life saver, in all the sense of the word. The food selection is not huge and I think it's great. Sometimes, the supermarket can be an overwhelming place to go for food shopping. Just like it's other competition, Lidl is great. I love this store for a nice selection of spices, pastas, and snacks. Prices are amazingly cheap. My fellow Yelpers... EBT cards are accepted...now that's an advantage. This location is more spacious than Aldi, down by Central Islip. I know, I'm not the only person, but I shop at both stores! The parking lot at this Lidl in Islip - which is not permanently closed - is a minefield of potholes and nothing has been done to fix it. I had a tire blown out from a pothole and when I wrote to Lidl to complain and ask for reimbursement they said I would receive an email confirming that they received my complaint. Never received one. Filled out the form again. Again, no response! read more

I give this Lidl 3.5 stars. The customer service is always really great and the employees are super helpful with any questions you have. The issue I have with this Lidl is that a lot of the times their out of meat, produce and more. I've found that coming early in the week and the morning is best for a stocked store at this specific location. My other slight issue besides the inconvenience of not being able to get all my groceries, is that I can never seem to find a cart and when I do it's usually wobbly and a nuisance. Besides that though the store is kept clean and they do have great deals if you have the Lidl app. I frequent a few different Lidl locations and while this isn't my favorite, it's definitely not the worst. read more

I have to say this store is amazing!!! Lidl really outdid themselves here! their bakery items are absolutely delicious and they had focaccia bread for just .79 cents it was so fresh and so gooood! Not a lot of name brands as you would find in a traditional American supermarket but these prices can't be beat!. I've tried loads of lidl branded products and honestly 90% of them taste identical if not better than name brand competitors. They also offer a huge assortment of non food related items like coolers, deck boxes, lawnmowers, tools, clothings, toys, kitchen appliance and much much more! What turns this rating into 5 stars for me is the way lidl gives back to their community. I was outside for their grand opening and they had brought up a guest speaker from a children's foundation here on Long Island and he spoke some amazing words about lidl and how much they have truly given back just to his foundation to provide for less fortunate kids! I've also read about them donating masks during covid, donating thousands of pounds of food across America and the list goes on. So happy we finally have some affordable to shop who also gives back! My first time here. I'm loving this store already. The prices here are comparable to Aldi's or it might be even better. So much seafood here oh my word, shrimps, shrimps, and more shrimps. The sections are clearly defined, neat, and very organized. The bakery section is beautiful and there's a variety of different fresh baked products. read more

I live close by and it's convenient but as I was leaving the cashier walked me down to see my receipt instead of taking care of the long lines they have because as usual they only have one cashier! Went back to Lidl islip ny looking for advertised butterball turkeys at 87 cents per pound. It is Saturday 11/20/21. Not in store, same as my experience 2 days ago with this same location. The weekly flyer advertised availability of this on sale item starting Wednesday 11/17/21. Had called lidl customer service about rain check, was told Lidl doesn't issue rain checks and that the company cannot say when the advertised item would be available, I will be placing a claim against Lidl to Consumer Affairs as Fraud / deceptive advertising, and requesting financial reimbursement read more

I shop here frequently and I don't have any complaints. The cashiers are so nice and efficient, especially considering there are many customers and the general public can be a challenge at best. Doesn't seem to be a visible manager or customer service area so I'm removing a star. When they opened I forgot I had a 10 dollar coupon and there was no way to remedy it once the transaction was over. Otherwise the store is clean and relatively well stocked. read more

At 8:30 PM on a Monday night, the place was pretty empty. Store is clean, with nice inexpensive organic options. Picked up a few seafood items. Cashier was non-communicative. My big issue was the loud, obnoxious music blasting overhead. You have got to be kidding me. If their aim was to get me out of there quickly, they achieved that admirably. read more

Not impressed at all. It's like Target and Aldi had a baby. There's really no selection of vegetables AT ALL. There's like only 2 choices of bread from some weird, unknown company. Now that I mention unknown, it brings me to the "Aldi" part of this place where most of it is no name brands and very, very few familiar ones. They blocked off the original Best Market entrance and basically have people entering and exiting where the original Best Market exit was at. Too crowded and people had no clue which door to enter (you have to make a right turn in once you're in the entry way in order to enter the store. The path ahead is actually the exit from the registers. The registers are also now lined up where the deli section used to be (Btw, like Target and Aldi, there's no deli section either). The windows are now blocked off with products. The middle of the store is blocked off with random household products (cheap low brand folding tables, etc) There's only 4 handicap spaces so if you're handicapped, you're SOL if you're coming during a "rush hour." This place is a total mess, top to bottom. Went this morning just to check it out and do a little fill in grocery shopping. Nice and clean, nice wide aisles. The selection of frozen vegetables could have been a little bigger, but we can live without Brussel sprouts. No complaints, would go there again. The store brand of "Pringles" was tasty.
