It's huge, as far as presentation it's not very fancy, it was tasty but as large as it was you'd think it had more alcohol to offset the size. But it did not. My wife ordered the aguachile with octopus. I ordered the Tuna Burger, and we got the steak quesadillas as an appetizer. My wife said she would give her aguachile a 3.8 out of 5. I thought the tuna burger was very tasty. Basically they took a tuna steak and put it between a hamburger bun. I can't really compare it to a regular meat burger. But on a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 7. It came only with lettuce and tomato, but it had flavor enough. The quesadilla's were good, but nothing special, I'd say they were comparable to any you get at an average Mexican restaurant in the states. We came here because of the high ratings. Maybe we ordered the wrong things to try, I thought everything was good, but nothing that was so good it made me want to hurry back.

The menu is simple with just enough options to where everyone can find something they like. I had the skirt steak tacos and my friend got fish tacos, We also ordered a frozen margarita and mojito that were huge!!!!! The prices were fair for what you get and the atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The music is not too loud so you can have a conversation with your group. They are not pushy to get you in and out like other places. Will definitely be back

We had been walking in the area earlier that day and made a plan to come back for dinner. When we arrived there were a lot of people but we were seated immediately. Martin was our waiter and he was great. There were a few large screen TVs playing sports. There was live music. A lot was going on but it really worked. People were enjoying themselves and the wait staff was friendly and talkative. I ordered shrimp fajitas and my husband ordered the mole. He always orders mole. The meals were very good. We ordered a mango margarita and Tecate. The margarita came with a tehine rim. I just wiped it off. That is becoming so popular. I decided to indulge in the banana dessert and I am glad I did. It came with a show. That was fun and the dessert was delicious. We were there earlier in the evening and we saw many couples and families. I'm sure the place gets a little more livelier as the night goes on. If you are in the area, this is a good place to eat and enjoy your time in Cancun.

The wait staff forms a conga line to deliver a margarita, carried atop a sombrero! The play tunes and dance around inviting diners to join them. Service is attentive & excellent! The menu has 90% Mexican specialities, but also has pasta, burgers and vegetarian. I was there with friends who had quesadillas & I had chicken enchiladas. Everything was good & portions were big. I just drank water, so cannot comment on the drinks. I had the flan for dessert, which was generous in size & ok. One of my friends had the flaming bananas & said it was so yummy! Everything is surprisingly (for Cancun) priced affordable. My enchiladas were about $12. I would happily return here! So much fun!

This nice, upscale Mexican restaurant was on Joe K's list of "must try" places while on vacation in…read moreCancun via his Yelp research. It was just a short walking distance from our hotel. We must have arrived for an early dinner, because there were no patrons when we first got there. At the entrance, a staff member escorts you in and takes you up 2 escalators to the second floor, where you are under a covered outdoor patio. We got to choose wherever we wanted to sit, so of course I wanted the best view available. Our table faced other hotels that blocked most of the ocean, but it was an OK view anyway. We were also able to watch and be somewhat entertained by the fast moving traffic coming and going along the main drag. The wait staff were polite and efficient explaining the menus and drink specials to us. They offer a selection of tropical cocktails in which you can buy one and get the second one free. We of course decided on said drinks. Which was very refreshing, tasty and served in a very generous glass. Since we had worked up an appetite, we wanted to share several different appetizers as our main course. We had the deep fried shrimp tacos, fish tacos, potato shoestring wrapped shrimp, hot cheese dip and guacamole dip. All the food was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor in every dish! I wanted to give 5 stars because our whole experience was definitely deserving! But after a few hours, I developed a severe migraine headache that got worse later that evening. I haven't had a headache that bad in a long time! And I can only suspect that maybe they used a cheap type of alcohol in my drink or possibly they used wine instead which will for sure give me a headache! I can't prove that this is what happened, but it's the only reason I can think of!

I have been to Chuchito Perez twice. The first time was with my girlfriend and we ordered…read moreappetizers and shrimp tacos and took advantage of the two for one drink special. The second time I went alone during two day taco spree because I still wanted to try the steak and bone marrow tacos. Chuchito Perez is part of a Mexican mini luxury restaurant chain with locations in Queretaro, Mexico City, Cancun and Monterey. The one in Cancun is located in a third floor palapa and shares the space with another restaurant so you can order off either menu. The first thing you notice when you reach this third floor palapa style restaurant is the view. You can force yourself to look between two hotel towers to see a sliver of beach on the ocean side or you can take in the breathtaking views of the lagoon and the nightclub area once it gets dark. The sunset over the lagoon is quite beautiful while the lights of the nightclubs below offer a bit of excitement once darkness falls. We were offered drinks from a two for one menu that seemed a bit too gimmicky and contrived for a luxury restaurant but the drinks were large and tasty even if the cheap alcohol may have contributed to girlfriend's headache. Perhaps they should skip the whole cheap drink, con artist style ritual and drop the price of their alcohol to where people might want to order from the regular menu? What they lose in markup could perhaps be gained in sales volume? Presenting a little sophistication rather than the appearance of desperation just might go a long way? We ordered three items from the appetizer menu, The Camarones Empapados (shrimp wrapped in potato strings), Queso En Salsa (melted cheese with salsa and peppers) and Guacamole made at our table. We also ordered Costras De Camaron (shrimp with pickles onions, mango & cilantro on cheese crusted corn tortillas) and Camaroncillas (fried tacos filled with shrimp) from the tacos menu. Everything was good but my favorites were the Queso En Salsa and the Costras De Camarons. Our waiter almost talked us out of ordering the Queso En Salsa by describing it as tomato soup with cheese. Believe me, it was not anything like tomato soup with cheese, the salsa was full of all kinds of amazing flavors and the nice, square chunks of cheese were of perfect size and texture and the best part of all was that it was not greasy. The mango in the Costas de Camarons really stood out and mixed perfectly with the shrimp while the cheese crusted corn tortillas and just the right amount of pickled onions and cilantro leant the perfect amount of support to really make this dish pop. The waiter telling us the suggested gratuity was equal to over 50% of the bill did not go over well with me but perhaps he just was not good at math? On my second trip I was on a mission to try as many different kinds of taco at as many places as possible in my short stay in Cancun and I really wanted to try their Arrechera Y Tuetano (flank steak and bone marrow) tacos. It seemed like such a unique dish. I wanted a shot of tequila and some sparkling water but the shot of tequila I wanted was about three times what I was paying for them elsewhere so I settled for a Modelo Negro and stopped for a shot on my way back to my hotel. The steak tacos were good on their own and adding the marrow to my first taco seemed like a waste of bone marrow so I ended up savoring small bites of marrow between bites of tacos. This place is a tourist trap - Don't fall into it! Turn…read morearound and go the other WAY!!! I have visited Cancun two times within the past two years. I have eaten at this restaurant at least three or four times. The food and service is typically mediocre and fast. However, my recent experience was horrible!! On my birthday, I was celebrating and decided to grab some food to avoid getting sick from the alcohol I was consuming. I decided on this restaurant because it was inexpensive and usually quick. On this particular evening, I waited 40 minutes for a basic chicken quesadilla. During this waiting period, I asked the waiter two or three times "what was the deal with my food," and he responded he would check on it. The place was relatively empty, so there was no reason I should have waited so long. After waiting 40 minutes for the chicken quesadilla, I decided to leave. Next thing I knew, the waiter was following me down the street with the check. I explained, I waited long enough, I no longer wanted the food. -- Next thing I know, I am approached by two police officers (with handcuffs in hand) along with the waiter. The officers stated, If I did not give them 600 pesos, I would be arrested. I knew that 600 pesos did not seem accurate, and I didn't want to go to jail in Mexico, so I decided to follow the waiter back up the street to the restaurant and pay the $8 USD tab. Again, why chase me down when I waited patiently for 40 minutes. Then get the cops to scare me. Horrible, horrible, horrible. AVOID THIS PLACE! -pics of the waiter attached
