Worst Car Buying Experience I've Ever Had - Beware of This Dealership I drove an hour from Pennsylvania to Liccardi Chrysler Dodge because they had the exact car I wanted -- a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350. Worst decision ever. Do not buy a car from this dealership. You'll regret it. This was my third Mercedes SUV and the fifth Mercedes in my family, so I'm very familiar with the brand. While looking at the car, I noticed the tow hook cover was missing. I mentioned it to my salesperson, Hakeem, who said he'd order one right away. I also noticed the driver's seatbelt wouldn't retract properly, but I assumed they would fix it since it's a basic safety issue. After purchasing the car, I took it for inspection -- and it failed due to a broken strut. I immediately called Liccardi and was told to bring it back in. That's when I also realized the air conditioner didn't work. Since I bought the car in February, I hadn't tried using it until recently. They advertised the car as having A/C, so I naturally assumed it did. After driving yet another hour to the dealership, I was told that yes, the strut and A/C needed work -- but since I didn't buy a warranty, I would have to pay for both repairs out of pocket. I had only owned the car for two weeks at this point. After expressing my frustration, Tony, the Used Car Manager, agreed to fix both at no charge -- which I appreciated, even if I was still upset about the hassle. I spent five hours at the dealership the following Saturday. They replaced the leaking strut and "recharged" the air conditioner. They also said they'd ordered parts to fix the seatbelt (a safety issue that still hasn't been addressed to this day). A few weeks later, it warmed up -- and the A/C stopped working again. Turns out, recharging it was just a temporary bandage instead of fixing the real problem. I called several times, and when Tony finally called me back, he said that if I wanted the air conditioning repaired, I would have to pay for it myself. When I pointed out that the car was advertised as having A/C, he dismissed me, said "I can't do anything for you," and hung up on me. I was stunned. I immediately filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, who told me that Liccardi is already in their system -- which unfortunately didn't surprise me. This is the 18th vehicle I've purchased in my lifetime, and by far the worst experience I've ever had. Not only have I been ignored by my salesperson (Hakeem never followed up once since the sale), but I've also been left with unresolved issues on a supposedly premium vehicle that doesn't match how it was advertised. To make things worse, I traded in my 2017 Mercedes GLE 350, which needed some repairs. They lowballed me on the trade because of this -- and then turned around and sold that same car the very next day without fixing a single issue. Jeff Fraley contacted me stating that Liccardi was interested in purchasing my car, which was very well-maintained. I already had 3 offers from competitor dealers who personally inspected my car. In addition, I had 2 offers from online auto buyers. I brought the car in for an appraisal. First, Jeff Fraley insisted that I could not witness him and his assistants while they inspected my car. I was highly uncomfortable with this because they could have taken personal belongings from my car, altered the vehicle, or let anyone drive it without my knowledge or permission. Jeff should have disclosed his ridiculous demands in advance and then I would not have come. Second, Jeff's offer was the lowest offer out of every dealer. He has no negotiation skills and instead of attempting to negotiate a price, he starts screaming about fictitious things he found wrong with the car. I know it is not true because I retained every maintenance record since the day I bought the car brand new. The car was meticulously maintained. Plus, I just took it to 3 other dealers who personally inspected the car and not one of them mentioned anything he was complaining about. It was just a cheap tactic to bully and lowball me. The funniest thing is that after I walked out the door, his assistant asked for my contact info and offered me thousands more than what Jeff Fraley offered. Even his own assistant knows Jeff's offer was shameful. Lastly, Jeff's son, Collin Fraley, works there as well. Purchased a car and financed it because they charge extra if you pay cash. A LOT EXTRA!! So I financed it signed the paper that stated there was NO FEE for paying the entire loan off at once. The problem was that I was never informed as to who to pay the loan to. Weeks go buy and no indication as to who to pay. I called the dealership a number of times. Every time I called I was told the person I wanted to speak to wasn't there. When I finally reached a live person I was transferred to someone else who would pass me on to someone else. When I finally reached the finance department the voicemail was full. Can you believe that? The voicemail was full!!! Which makes me think that these guys never respond to anyone. The service department of this car dealership is terrible. I filed a consumer complaint against this company. I hope someone will get his ass kicked! The car mechanic damaged the motor by ignoring an existing problem. I called a lemon lawyer and he asked me to file a complaint for negligence. And the service advisor knew of the existing problem and, instead of fixing the problem, just reimplanted it and caused further damage. My wife and I called them multiple times and they never gave us an answer. We left messages and they never returned any of our calls. My vehicle has been in their shop for weeks and we still haven't received an update from them. I advise everyone to not deal with this company. Not only are the staff unprofessional and irresponsible. They over charge their customers and do the job very slowly. It takes them three times as much time to complete a job as they promised. I have a different vehicle. It's a Jeep Compass. The exhaust manifold needed to be replaced. They asked me to pay $7,400 plus tax for this operation and it took them several weeks to get it done. Google said that this kind of work should cost approximately $2,000 and be done within two days. I paid a few hundred dollars in diagnostic fees and I asked AAA to tow it to Meineke for the operation. Meineke finished the job within two days. The total bill, including tax and labor, is $2,387. And they gave me a five-year and 50,000-mile warrantee. Liccardi will charge me more than three times the cost and takes up more than three times as much time. If you have any automobile problems, go to a local shop and never go to Liccardi. read more

Came in for an voluntary Ford recall/extended warranty , told them what we were experiencing and they took it upon themselves to do further testing we did not ask for and charged for it. Not to mention I was told they would send the report to Ford the day it was dropped off (Saturday) and we would know by Monday what the result was. They did not look at the car until Thursday. While inconvenient, I figured I couldn't do anything since it was a free recall/extended warranty thru Ford. But to be charged for a diagnostic I did not ask for AND have them take 5 days to look at it is unacceptable. I did not include Sunday since I understand they are closed. At no time did anyone from this establishment provide a price or estimated cost, which was not unusual to me since we were there for a free recall. Stay away. read more

Don't ever bring your car to get worked on here. I had called in Friday to get my recall done for my jeep bc my clutch stopped working. (Recall was on clutch) & johanna was very rude on the phone, she was rushing me to get off the phone. I called Saturday to double check because I received an email saying my appointment was canceled. Peggy said "no your appointment is still on, see you Monday." I call Monday morning bc my vehicle had to be towed in & of course , Johanna answers the phone with a nasty attitude. Asks me to give her my vin number again then goes " oh I took down the wrong vin Friday and I have to order these parts so it won't be done until the day the parts come in it should be here tomorrow" then Scott said they wouldn't be here until Wednesday and it takes 3-4 days to do the job when on the recall notice it says 6 hours & Johanna told me it will also be done within a day. I then talked to Scott because he's the manager there & said listen I will be fine with all this as long as I can get my fog light replaced as well by the time this jeeps out of here. He said ok! No problem I'll order the part . When he called me to update me on the car - I asked how much the fog light would be. And he said he forgot! He will order it right when he gets off the phone. I then asked again the day I went in and he looked at me like I had 10 heads. I went 12 days without my car. It wasn't up until the 10th that I came in and saw my car sitting in the lot, unattended & UNLOCKED. And with the fog light still out! Even overnight w the car unlocked. . Then Scott said my engine would not start after the recall was done. Of course they said this just to get money out of my pocket when the recall was free. My car has never had any electrical problems until it got worked on here. Please save your time and go to another mechanic. The communication is horrible here. And the people here today were telling me my car is an s and only worth 26000$ When they had a 2017 maxima sl on the lot with over 30,000 miles selling it for 36k$. So how are you telling me mine is less value when it's newer, same model, and has less miles. Then your selling a Dodge Charger, with scratches and blemishes all over the car for 34,900. Wheels have curb rash all over them, and you can see someone painted the wheels with one of those touch up paint markers. Because the paint they used vs the wheels are a different color. read more

I literally just came across this dealer out on a limb searching for a car and I found a nice looking blacked out Jeep Compass. The price of it on CapitalOne AutoNavigator is $19,990. When we pulled up to that dealership to look at the car, it was nearly $10,000 more in the actual price. The car was unlocked, of course I got curious! I looked inside and found out the driver seat is damaged, the housing around the driver seat controls appears to be broken off. I don't understand how you manage to accomplish something as stupid as that, and it's bad enough they don't have any contact information for you to go by on the CapitalOne auto app. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures to prove that the Jeep was damaged, but I think that if the price is completely different, and that there was no contact information, and that there is reviews of vehicles being sold damaged, then honestly I don't think I need to prove anything. This dealer obviously is well aware they're selling crappy cars and I'd rather not bother with this place. I didn't even interact with anyone to figure that out. Three red flags in tandem with the abundance of horrid experiences I see here. One of those dealerships. I was interested in a specific vehicle they had in stock. Not being in the area, initial contact was through internet/phone. After talking to a couple sales people who didn't seem to have any interest in actually selling the vehicle, I was able to talk to someone who seemed a bit more motivated. I was going to move forward with the purchase when I received a phone call that there would be a $3,000 "prep fee" tacked on to the purchase price. Which apparently means for them to prepare the vehicle for purchase, oil change, etc. Which you'd think they would do without what is essentially a hidden fee that's almost 10% of the value of the vehicle. Said fee was of course not displayed anywhere on their listing(s) or own website. In conclusion, if you're willing to play that kind of game with them, I guess they're an option. I brought in a 2016 Patriot for a front brake check and transmission issue. They couldn't find anything wrong with the transmission, but said they looked at the front brakes and that the issue was that I needed the pads and rotors replaced. Cost me roughly $400 dollars. I'm currently laid off but have 40+ years' experience in Break/fix service under my belt. Less than 2 weeks later, driving down the road, smoke billowing out from under my left front wheel. I had to get an Uber to get to my house and had to pay $163.00 towing fee to have the car towed back to Liccardi of Greenbrook. They then told me that the brake Caliper had failed after they did the exam and repair, and that they had no way of knowing that the caliper had any issues during the brake exam, and that I now would have to pay $1,100 + dollars to repair my vehicle. Spoke to two auto repair techs since who have told me there was absolutely no way that the calipers were checked and were determined to need no replacement until the next time the pads and rotors would need to be replaced. I thought I was doing the right thing taking my Jeep to Liccardi. Don't do it. Unethical business dealings. Beyond words disappointed. STAY AWAY from this business. They are horrible. read more

Absolute scammers. I don't know where to begin. This is only my experience but I would pay more any day at a dealership that is transparent than save money at a place like this. Check Better Business Bureau's website for some insight before you buy. They requested that I give them a $500 deposit to hold the car until I could return after work the next day to complete the paperwork. They sold the car the next morning while I was in work telling me that someone came along and offered more money for the car and was willing to pay the GAP insurance they were trying to force me to buy that I declined. I was even told that this is how they would make more money on the sale. If I wasn't willing to pay it this other individual said they would pay the GAP. This is the same Gap they told me the night before was only an option and I told them I would go home and research this type of coverage. That next morning they told me that I was welcome to give them more money than the other (alleged) buyer to "win" the car. "Hey, it's all business", I was told. This was after they requested and I gave them the $500 deposit to hold the car including the hand shake offered to me and a promise by them, laughing, that the car was mine. I wish I had the option of giving them a zero because if I could that is what they would get. My son and husband purchased a very expensive used car from them that has major problems. It has been to the dealer twice already in less than a month. Every time my son drives it there is a problem. They have yet to give us paperwork saying what work they have done to fix the problem. The car is under warranty and yet they are not fixing transmission issues with the car and have yet to run diagnostics on it. I have had multiple cars purchased at dealers and have never seen anything like this in my life. I am so upset for my husband and son and at this point we don't want the car. We would love to return it because it is a nightmare. I cannot believe that this is legal to do and I will be contacting Better Business and other agencies if we are not satisfied. Horrible dealer you should avoid! Very unprofessional employees who are both unethical and don't value client relationship. Plus they charge unnecessary and overpriced fees. The Wrangler had a window price of $30k but I found out they listed online for $27k, the finance guy when negotiating tried to tell me I should be happy about the online price when the dealer listed the price itself I just found out about it. When tried to do that I asked him so if I wasn't aware of the online discount would you not tell me when I first came to the lot? He said "no I would say it's $30k" I wonder how many people they did this to and robbed them of a couple thousand dollars . My rating for Liccardi is actually zero. I put a deposit on a truck they advertised online as excellent condition. Went to the dealer and it was dinged and dented, but I needed a truck ASAP so I continued. The sales snake informed me that since it was no longer the weekend, it was no longer the weekend price, it was $1000 more. Again I went ahead. We go over the paperwork and they are charging me an additional $2500 for dealer prep (confirming it was in "excellent" condition). I argued it to no avail, so in the end I paid $3500 plus doc and prep fees more than was advertised. I get the truck home and it won't even pass state inspection without $800 of work and things as trivial as oil and air filters haven't been replaced or serviced in a long time (after Liccardi's mandatory dealer prep of $2500 confirming "excellence" condition). The local dealer also confirmed significant body damage that had been repaired, but not disclosed. After 2.5 years and a couple thousand more in multiple repairs, I sold it well under market (because I was honest in my disclosures) about the condition and history of problems with the truck. Buying a car has always been a stressful and somewhat aggravating experience for me - I enter the dealer feeling under-educated and overwhelmed by the stereotype of the "car salesman" and the "car dealer". I've bought and leased more than 20 vehicles over my life and generally start getting agitated the closer I get to the parking lot of the dealer. So, I had the same feeling this week as I approached Liccardi Dodge. I was trading in a nine-year-old vehicle and looking to purchase a Charger. This time around I was not well prepared - what I mean is, I hadn't done my homework. In the past I'd look up vehicle invoice, rebates, trade-in values, etc., and this time I didn't do much. So, I entered the Liccardi showroom feeling a bit uncomfortable. I was met immediately by a gentleman who greeted myself and my daughter. He was very upbeat and made us feel welcome. He introduced us to Tony M - our Salesman. Tony was professional and after his manager looked at our trade-in we got to talking about price. I was skeptical when Tony M provided me with the deal that they were offering and ultimately my daughter and I left the dealer with no new car. When I returned home, I got to work. I ran numbers, looked at other dealers, read whatever I could, and I came to the same conclusion every time - Tony M had provided us with a very fair and honest offer. He never tried to hard sell, was incredibly nice even when we left, and he'd shattered my stereotype of a car salesman. Now, it was up to me to call him back and ask if the deal was still on the table. I called back the next day. I didn't even recall Tony's name at the time but quickly was advised who I'd met with - Tony M. Tony was great. He said the deal was still there and we headed back to the dealer to fill out the paperwork. From that point on, things only got better. Joe Liccardi, the Finance Manager, was awesome. He was friendly, he was personable, and our customer experience got better and better. In fact, as we finalized our financing, Joe advised us that he'd found us a better rate and reduced our monthly payment. Seriously, who does that when you've already agreed to financing? I knew no one at this dealer when we went looking and was extremely skeptical, but I cannot say enough positive things about Tony M, Joe Liccardi and the Liccardi Dodge dealership. I highly recommend them to others. They have a lifelong customer in me, and I feel much better about my future car buying experiences. read more

They told me they couldn't finance me because my score was low. Pulled up my score and they were off but 80 points. Sent them the correct info and they still refused to finance. Advertised at 12k. looking to pay cash and was told that i need to finance or would be charged an additional 1500. once i met with Mike the Finance manager/general manager/owner or family member all of a sudden 1595 was added to the unit price of the car, an additional equipment fee of 340 and a MV new tire fee of 225!!! Called today to speak to Mike and stated that he was on a recorded line (which he refused to be recorded) LOL, and he could not explain to me what the additional 1595 was related to. I told him that i was opening up a compliant with the better business bureau, which he replied...."go ahead , I have dealt with them plenty on times". Yup, I bet you have!! I purchased a 2014 Ford F350 lariat on August 19, 2020. Upon bringing it home It sat overnight where I came out to the truck to an oil leak. I immediately called the dealer and they told me to bring it in. They ended up having to send it to another dealer to get worked on they needed to replace a front manifold gasket that was causing the leak. They had the truck for an entire month. Once receiving a back within the first two days I noticed the oil leak continued along with electrical issues that was causing sensors to go on and off the check engine light would also sporadically go on and off. I then contacted the dealer again where they told me I had to bring it back in. They then sent it to the diesel Ford dealership To where they claim they found nothing wrong. So they sent it to The original diesel mechanic Who replaced the gaskets and he also claimed there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. This is now Another month my truck was down had it for about a week broke down on me on the side of 78. I called them they got a tow truck to come get the vehicle... they then had the vehicle for about a week sent it to another diesel mechanic who then told them that the engine blew.... I have not even had the truck in my driveway for an entire month. I have been forced to make payments on it monthly which are well over $600 a month. I am not being offered any assistance or even a rental. I need help . On December 29th they just confirmed the engine seized and needs to be replaced. When I asked them about the downtime they told me that they're going to need the truck for at least another additional three months... on January 12th we found out the engine is on national back order could take up to 4 months to just receive ........ we called everyone we keep getting put on hold or hung up on .... We showed up January 15th for invoices and paperwork regarding emissions that neither were provided because they " could not find " mind you my truck can't pass inspection because they sold me a " deleted truck" which come to find out is illegal? So I would like the paperwork for that when you find it. After trying for about an hour we got to sit down with a James who was on the phone with someone regarding my horrible review I left for this dealer . They not only promised me a rental as of 1/19 written and signed, they promised an engine to replace free of charge . They also stated they got the engine already and it should not be in the shop as long as expected . Thinking I finally am getting compensated for some thing FINALLY . Jokes on me ! Not only did I not receive a rental today 1/19 ... I'm being told I'm only getting it for 5 days and with a $250 deposit that I have to provide as well and I can pick it up tomorrow morning 1/20....What about all the other days you're going to have my truck in the shop? I'm really not asking a lot here . I'm literally in the biggest hole I ever been in my life all because I let these people pretty much ruin my life at this point ... Mind you this is how much they care about their customers .....I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant with a 2 year old ,paying 680 a month for a truck I bought in august 2020 and HAVE YET TO USE. I just lost my job I'm about to lose my house and these people can't even give me a rental to make it to any of my baby appointments IM SO SICK OF THE WE WILL CALL YOU BACK.... they have been nothing but awful during this entire experience .... Avoid at all cost I pray karma gets you real soon. Idk how any of you could do this to a person let alone a pregnant mother. You left me to die out here with no remorse or respect. Wish I could give them 0 stars. The unprofessional is unprecedented and something I've never seen. I'm 9 months pregnant and my husband was buying a 50k+ truck; you would think they would have offered water, seating, something. NO instead they made us feel as if they were doing us a favor. The shortage of vehicles during the pandemic shouldn't be an excuse for the treatment and undervalue they give customers. This dealership should be a disgrace for Chrysler, Dodge, Mitsubishi, their representation of these companies hideous. read more

I bought a van through them - I needed to buy it sight unseen and have it delivered. Should have been a very easy sale. The first time I tried the salesman Craig sold the van to someone else in the middle of negotiations around "fees associated with paying cash" then after I complained to the management they proceeded to make me work with the same salesman again on another van. Bought it anyway (paperwork incorrect - double check - has to re-fedex all the work) and when it was delivered they skipped the toll to leave me with a $155 ticket that I sent to the manager and salesman.
