The AAA employee (insurance agent?} listened to my concerns but told me too bad, it is what it is. The "snapshot" discount for safe driving is anything but a snapshot. It is a personal tracker and agreement allow AAA to sell your personal location data & trends for more than 3/4 of the year. It kills your cell phone battery as it is always searching for the slightest movement. All of this and you MIGHT be offered a 10% discount when you renew. They even track and deduct points for when I am on my bicycle and stop to take photos or change the music. The "agent" told me "How are we supposed to know?", if you are moving you are scored. They of course don't insure my bicycle or trips on it, public transit, my Uber driver.... Remember when a 20-year driving record with no tickets or accidents was good enough to indicate that you were a safe driver and insurable, those days are gone. Personal data sales apparently informs them more than your credit score, insurance score, and DMV print out. Don't bother calling the "MySafeDrive" app either. Their answer to all questions is "You can always cancel and be charged more." How about I cancel and go back to a car insurance company that doesn't sell my personal information to the highest bidder? I wonder what AAA is doing to people that buy travel through them? Luggage trackers? Sell your travel photos and plans?

The gal took my photo, then sent me to the front desk to get a print out and the instructions to download your photo, it wasn't working for me so I ask the women, if she could help me. I did pay $20 for service. She gave me the picture and I went to my car to start the renewal process on line. The photo would not save to my phone. I went back in and the girl who took the photo helped me put it in my photo gallery and also emailed the photo to me. Now back at the car, the photo is not accepted by government standards, back in to AAA I go! The gal said I'll take another picture, your hair needs to be behind your ears - ok. She helps me get my photo again, then I waited in the office to upload my photo again and it's not accepted. Now, the gal has disappeared and I talk to Steve this is the third person I have dealt with on my photo journey! He says, you have to download the photo, I said both of your staff members did that for me. Well you have a picture with words on it, I said this is what your staff gave me! So he takers my phone and somehow downloads the photo without words. I said how did you do that? He said "we provide you the access, you need to do it yourself", I said I paid you $20 I expected service to go with my picture! It's the worst set up ever! I would highly recommend rethinking your process especially if your own staff can't download the picture correctly! Glad I didn't buy the membership!

I bundled home + auto and I am very happy with the whole process. I had a LOT of anxiety about adding a 16 and 18 year old to my policies. Without going into all of the details, my account was transferred to Michael Daniel from a different Farmers office that was closing. I was told by the transferring agent/office that Michael Daniel would be calling me to introduce himself and establish the relationship. I was also, sent a mailer from Michael Daniel stating the same thing. Never got a call. I stuck with them for a little while longer until I found a reputable agency/office that offered competitive rate. When I called to cancel, I wanted to be 100 % sure that we were all squared up and made my last payment and what I though was my final balance. Many months later while getting ready to apply for a home my loan officer brought my attention that there was a collection department trying to collect funds on an account through Farmers. After calling Farmers, they told me that I did in fact still have a balance (which I was unaware of), and that they had sent a letter to my home. I let them know that I had moved and that I had not received a letter and would have been happy to pay if I had known. I asked why they didn't call me (they have my phone number), or email me (they sent me marketing every week), and it all could have been taken care of right away. They told me that they didn't handle final payments like that, and that they only sent snail mail. Nonetheless, I quickly took care of the small balance and was happy that I had moved on.

I requested she hand me the documents again then she reminded me they have them on email anyway and still refused to hand over my personal documents. I found the process to be difficult, time consuming and at the end rude.
