We thought this was going to be way cooler. But it is a bit simple. The tubbing is ok. You grab your tube and ride the conveyor belt up to the top. You then get on you tube and ride down the slide. That's it. If your a small kid like 7 and under this place would be a 5 star playground. A bit simple if your an adult. They also have a ski part but we do not ski so we did not do that. We were also seeing people skinning their knees when they fell. NOT for us. They also had a slide area. That definitely was for kids. Kids were having a pretty good time. You again ride a conveyor belt up to the top of the slide and get on this sled and you slide down and it is small. We only saw kids on that. We were hoping they would have a cafe up there because the view was freaking great but they only have a lounge type lodge inside with bottled soda. If they put an awesome cafe in they would have something great with a view like that. I am sad to give them a 2 star but for an adult this is just nothing great. For a 5 or 6 year old this place was awesome.

Doug Forbes and Isaiah Smith. My grandson and I had a blast skiing at Liberty Mountain!

We had a wonderful time skiing at Liberty Mountain! The staff and instructors were very friendly and helpful!

Been here a few times but this time we arrived here to celebrate my son's 17th birthday with his son's classmates! We arrived here around 3pm based upon an employee recommendation! It was not very crowded getting here this time of the day! From what I hear it gets very crowded at other times! The staff were very friendly especially considering they probably deal with a lot of crazy, perhaps over confident College kids trying to impress each other!! I highly recommend this place for Birthday parties however bring your own food as they don't serve food here! It was well worth our time here especially after receiving the various available discounts! Never hurts to ask for any ticket discounts! Enjoy these slopes ALL year round in the heart of Virginia!

This is such a cool concept! It's my understanding that it is free for LU students, but the price for general admission is extremely reasonable for the amount of activities that the SnowFlex offers. The tubing looked like the most fun out of everything. I would plan for one or two hours here unless you are also looking to explore all of the hiking trails that branch off from the parking lot. We wished we had known about the trails earlier during our glamping vacation in Lynchburg. We actually just came here for the sunset. You can just visit the center without paying for the SnowFlex activities. It was a perfect place to watch the sunset. They even have a small "cafe" where you can buy hot chocolate for $2 that will warm you up while the sun goes down. The lodge was packed even during a holiday weekend with lots of students on laptops. I'm guessing the wifi must be free. Five stars for it being a cozy spot with beautiful views. I'm sure the actual activities that this place offers are just as great!

"The Mountain" - open 365, it's like boarding on toothbrushes!

ahem - this "adult-winter-without-snow-water-park-open-all-year-super-affordable-fake-snow-mountain" only has 2 reviews? Now I know why the place wasn't crowded - ya'll just don't know about it yet. Sit down crisscross applesauce as I tell you about middle Virginia's best-kept snowless secret. It's a completely fake mountain you can snowboard, inner-tube and ski on ALL YEAR LONG. You read that right, hooked-on-phonics-grads. The hill is lined with what feels like overgrown toothbrush bristles and is constantly being watered by an in-ground sprinkler system. Is it like snow? Hell nah! It's toothbrushes! But, if you can master the toothbrush mountain, snow will be like slicing butter. They have a bunny hill (represent!) and it has a few features to practice on before the big hill that has a lot more options as far as features, jumps and other goodies (and they keep switching the features out, so it's like a new mountain every time). The big mountain has a magic carpet on one side that services that as well as a kiddy (and adult - don't front, that shizz be fun as all get out) tubing. The other side features that "eternal snowboard gooch" machine to get up. The bunny hill has both a magic carpet as well as a rope pulley (you should get a ribbon once you figure out how to master that - expert level is doing it behind you back ((I don't want to brag, but I'm like Valedictorian of the back rope)). The "lodge" is nice; however, food is about as extensive as your local WaWas minus actual food - it's a vending machine with a cashier basically. It seems like the upstairs lodge is often reserved for events, and the downstairs if the rental gear - which is extremely reasonably priced. Think under $20 for the day. The pass for the mountain is charged hourly and again - it's like $11 for an hour. If you clutched you wallet in horror, you've not been to an actual-snow mountain where I swear they must build the lifts out of pressed 'hunnits' it's so expensive. What gear do you need for an all-year snowless mountain? Unless you're looking for discounted bodily exfoliation, you'll need to wrap up the knees and elbows and hands. Those bristles aren't kind. By "hands," I'd recommend heavy duty gloves if you're planning to face plant or use the bunny-hill rope pulley system. If you plan to use the jumps, you're required to use a helmet. Let's see... what else. There's plenty of parking. The sled thing seemed super cool - you can just hear college kids giggling like school girls as they shoot down it. You can book a lesson which again - super cheap - and includes a 2-hour pass. They're higher up, so weather changes quickly and they'll shut down in 30-minute increments if there's lightning. It's run by Liberty University, so I don't know if it's in the water, but the employees are insanely nice. I don't know the last time I heard a twenty-something say "butt" instead of the preferred three letter word (can we curse on Yelp?). I think that wraps it up. I spent 5 hours there non-stop last weekend. It's easy to lose track of time having a blast. If you show up and I face plant on you with a snowboard, I apologize in advanced.

They are a Motorsport camp, so all things car related, perfect for my 12 year old who is obsessed with cars. They also host an Astro camp for those whose interest is space. While my son was there they did tons of driving on and off road, built rockets and launched them, did star gazing with the telescopes they have there, learned car mechanics, and so much more, including regular camp stuff: bonfires, swimming, sports, etc. Another pro was the ban of electronics; no iPads, video games, phones, etc. They keep the kids so busy, they won't miss them. One nice touch was the Thank You card they had the kids write home to parents. A courtesy I have always had my son perform, a good lesson in gratitude. Everyone working there was very personable, kind and helpful. They posted photos of the days activities each night. Any email to camp staff, both leading up to and during camp, was always responded to in a timely manner. This camp was perfect for my kid. He really thrived here. I was nervous, it being his first sleepaway experience, but he had no problems whatsoever and made friends easily with other campers. He's already looking forward next year. I may have to stowaway in his suitcase so I can go too!

He struggled at first with homesickness, but adjusted well with the support of his counselor. He came home talking about his new friends and the fun he had with the various activities. He enjoyed the food as well. There was some amount of roughing it (said the showers were cold and the cabins small) but it is a rustic camp, after all. As parents, we thought the camp was very well organized and they regularly posted pictures on the parent portal. My son is even open to the idea of going again. That may not sound as impressive as my saying that he's begging to go again, but it's a huge step forward considering that earlier this summer, he was threatening to barricade himself in his room to avoid going.
