Didnt know what to expect at first but it was awesome. It made me think out of the box and it was so cool. I went with two people including myself, which we did not get it. We were halfway there, though at first that we were completely locked in the room but I found out you can leave it whenever you want. The rules made it unclear and stopped us from finishing the room and it wasn't set up correctly after the last guest.

We stayed in Lynchburg but were in the vicinity to check out Shenandoah, Natural Bridge and Luray and I usually try to check out the escape rooms wherever I travel if i can! We did the trapped in the 80's room back in October and it was pretty good! 4 of us went. 1 really liked it (that was the detective in our group), 2 thought it was fun and one (me) wasn't a fan in general but that's just a me thing, not indicative of the place. Since I've never been to one before I don't have anything to compare it to but the room was well thought out and pretty neat conceptually. Our group agreed that we would have liked it better if the whole group was us, or people we knew. That's what made it a 4 star experience instead of 5...but we didn't realize it going in and even if we had, we wouldn't have booked the whole room for just 4 people because of the cost. So we decided to try this with my wife's family when we were out visiting. My wife and I have gone to some rooms at home and enjoy them. Walking in everyone is very friendly and energetic. We decided on the 80's room, and booked it on-line. Super easy to book on-line! Once in the room the game was on! It was definitely challenging and frustrating at times, but we made it through!!!! My brother and I are celebrating our annual Escape room weekend (we call it Escapapalooza because we are huge dorks and it embarrasses our spouses) and we were lucky enough to start our weekend at One Way Out. We did The Experiment and The Lost Professor rooms. Both were so good! Fun, well themed, the puzzles were clever and there was clearly love and pride put into their rooms. The staff was really good and it is always nice when staff is comprised of escape room enthusiasts and not just teens looking for summer jobs. We have been to many (too many, it is an expensive habit) escape rooms all over the state and these definitely stack up against the good ones. On top of that they are super cheap; $18 compared to the normal $25 and up. We will definitely be back to do their other two rooms! read more

Wow this was my first time and it won't be my last. The rooms are very uniquely design to keep your mind thinking of the next clue. There are a couple different themed rooms that will give you a challenging time! I highly recommend coming here, no matter if it's yourself or a group it will be a blast. This is so much fun!! Me and my group have now done 2 rooms. The first one was Baker Street ( Sherlock Holmes) and the 2nd one was Railway Robbery. Both were fun and made you think. I can't tell you anything else about the rooms, except that you and your group of friends need to book one soon! It is also good for companies who want to work on team building, ect. read more

I was in town for a wedding and some friends set up a trip to the escape room the following morning. I had done a few rooms in the past in other cities, so wanted to check this one out. Simply put, it was very well done. The puzzles were logical and pieced together well, whereas other rooms I had done did not always make sense. That said, it was still very challenging and took good teamwork to be successful. We used all but five minutes of the allotted time. I'd highly recommend this place. read more

My fiancé and I were visiting family in Virginia and we tried out the Detention room at One Way Out. We had such a great time and were put in with another group.
