We were blessed with beautiful May weather which allowed us to partake in all of the whimsical delight Camp Horizons has to offer which includes: - Impromptu games of gaga ball - Watching fish jump out the crystal clear lake - Petting horses, goats, donkeys, bunnies, and more - Reading on the cabin porch - Letting loose in a flower and herb garden and creating living art - Flexing archery skills - Swinging from a tree - Skits and s'mores around a camp fire - Whispering from a bunk bed ... and so much more! As an adult, it was so wonderful to see kids being kids. The staff was wonderful, kind, and patient and my super picky daughter RAVED about the food. I even saw her try things she would not touch with a ten foot pole here. I guess that's camp magic for you!

He struggled at first with homesickness, but adjusted well with the support of his counselor. He came home talking about his new friends and the fun he had with the various activities. He enjoyed the food as well. There was some amount of roughing it (said the showers were cold and the cabins small) but it is a rustic camp, after all. As parents, we thought the camp was very well organized and they regularly posted pictures on the parent portal. My son is even open to the idea of going again. That may not sound as impressive as my saying that he's begging to go again, but it's a huge step forward considering that earlier this summer, he was threatening to barricade himself in his room to avoid going.

All they cared about was money and quite frankly didn't care about their staff either. the only thing that kept me in America at that time was the awesome people of Charlottesville that i met while at camp. also, the food that they served us was lower quality than prison food, i wouldn't of fed it to my dead dog it was that nutritionally and tastefully bland!!!! even the cooks which i did like as they were just normal sound people said that everything that came in was the worst quality food they have every seen, we did an overnight once every week to 2 weeks and they fed the kids slop! us as staff would have to pay for are own food most days due to the sickness we would feel after eating the food they had provided for us. i will honestly never do camp America again as Triple C Camp has tainted my view on that experience! i honestly felt belittled and looked down at by the senior management staff at Triple C Camp and would not recommend anyone to work at their camp unless they change their ideas and how they treat their staff. I was so scared to say anything to management about how they treated us as they had the power to fire us on the spot which in turn would cancel are visa with immediate effect which would result in a five year ban from the USA and would make it impossible to get a green card in the future.

They are a Motorsport camp, so all things car related, perfect for my 12 year old who is obsessed with cars. They also host an Astro camp for those whose interest is space. While my son was there they did tons of driving on and off road, built rockets and launched them, did star gazing with the telescopes they have there, learned car mechanics, and so much more, including regular camp stuff: bonfires, swimming, sports, etc. Another pro was the ban of electronics; no iPads, video games, phones, etc. They keep the kids so busy, they won't miss them. One nice touch was the Thank You card they had the kids write home to parents. A courtesy I have always had my son perform, a good lesson in gratitude. Everyone working there was very personable, kind and helpful. They posted photos of the days activities each night. Any email to camp staff, both leading up to and during camp, was always responded to in a timely manner. This camp was perfect for my kid. He really thrived here. I was nervous, it being his first sleepaway experience, but he had no problems whatsoever and made friends easily with other campers. He's already looking forward next year. I may have to stowaway in his suitcase so I can go too!

It is a rural and quiet area with limited cell service. Closest groceries stores are out 20-30 minutes away. It is secluded for sure. The entrance is well marked and there is one way in, one way out. It is well taken care of a clean. There is a mess hall with full industrial equipped kitchen, separate bunk houses for girls and boys and bathroom / shower buildings for each as well. There is a ton of history here and it's cool seeing the earliest framed names of "best camper" in the mess hall start as early as 1942 to present day. There is a caretaker who lives on the property and he keeps it very clean. The creek behind the mess hall is relaxing and beautiful. I love our the entire campground is covered by a canopy of trees and I never had to wear sunglasses for the weekend. I did not stay on the property and used a local air b&b but most attendees stayed in the bunk houses and said they were fine and comfortable. The stone alter and bell tower were so cool. I do not have any experience with the actual kids camp but I'm sure it is a blast as this place is taken care of and has been around awhile.
